CBS News reports:
President Trump spoke publicly Saturday morning for the first time since his former national security adviser Michael Flynn pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI on Friday.
“What has been shown is no collusion, no collusion,” Mr. Trump said, responding to a reporter’s question about whether the Flynn plea worries him before pivoting to a major tax bill the Senate passed just before 2 a.m. Saturday.
“We’ll see what happens,” added the president, who is on his way to New York for a series of fundraisers. Shortly after, the president tweeted that he fired Flynn because he lied to the vice president.
I had to fire General Flynn because he lied to the Vice President and the FBI. He has pled guilty to those lies. It is a shame because his actions during the transition were lawful. There was nothing to hide!

Took you 24 hours to come up with that?

Do you really believe that we will believe this bogus story? He lied to investigators. This isn’t about lies he told to you!

So the official story is that everyone in TrumpWorld was lying about Russia connections—including to the FBI!—even though there was “nothing to hide.” Got it. https://t.co/txxzgVDQpY

I thought the White House didn’t know that Flynn had lied to the FBI when they fired him. Isn’t that what McGahn was so *angry* about yesterday? https://t.co/O3GDkETQ6n
