OOPSIE: House Must Vote Again On GOP Tax Bill

CNBC reports:

House Republicans approved sweeping changes to the U.S. tax code Tuesday, but they will have to vote again due to a procedural snag in the Senate. Lawmakers have been barreling toward the GOP goal of passing the first major tax overhaul in decades by the end of the year, but that goal will have to be delayed for a short time.

A Senate aide confirmed to CNBC that the parliamentarian has ruled that provisions in the bill do not comply with the Byrd Rule. One of the provisions would allow 529 plans to be used for homeschool expenses while another is related to exemptions for certain colleges from an excise tax.
