GOP Senator Behind Multiple Anti-LGBT Bills To Roy Moore: Stop Money Begging With My Name And Face

The Hill reports:

Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) has requested to be removed from Alabama GOP Senate nominee Roy Moore’s fundraising pitches after a Thursday report from the Washington Post detailed accusations of inappropriate sexual conduct between a 32-year-old Moore and a minor from decades ago.

Moore released a fundraising pitch featuring Lee on Thursday just hours after the Washington Post story quoted a woman charging that Moore inappropriately her when she was 14 years old. The fundraising pitch attempted to discredit the allegations and included pictures of Lee, as well as Sens. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and Rand Paul (R-Ky.).

Lee was on Trump’s list of potential Supreme Court nominees. He is the author of the so-called First Amendment Defense Act, which would legalize anti-LGBT business discrimination nationwide. During the run up to Obergefell, he sponsored multiple attempts to derail same-sex marriage.
