VIRGINIA: Court Denies Bail For The Weeping Nazi

The New York Post reports:

A neo-Nazi who said he pepper-sprayed a demonstrator in self-defense on the campus of the University of Virginia was denied bail Thursday. Christopher Cantwell, who has justified the death of a woman protesting a white nationalist rally in Charlottesville, made his first court appearance after surrendering to police in Lynchburg, Va., late Wednesday.

The New Hampshire man was denied bond in Albemarle County General District Court, where he appeared via video conference from his jail. Authorities accused him of three felonies: two counts of the illegal use of tear gas or other gases and one count of malicious bodily injury with a “caustic substance,” explosive or fire. A preliminary hearing was set for Oct. 12.
