POLL: 41% Now Want Trump Impeached, Far More Than Those Who Called For Richard Nixon’s Impeachment

USA Today reports:

About 4-in-10 Americans currently support impeaching President Donald Trump six months into his term — significantly higher than the number who called for Richard Nixon’s impeachment in 1973, a Monmouth University poll has found.

This is the first time adults nationwide were asked about impeachment of Trump with the same question used by the Gallup Poll during Nixon’s presidency. As the Watergate scandal started to unfold 44 years ago, 24 percent supported Nixon’s impeachment — compared to 41 percent of the public now who call for Trump’s impeachment.
