Far-Right Websites Launch Boycott Campaign Against Rachel Maddow In Retaliation For Sean Hannity

Far-right extremist Brent Bozell, who is best known here for calling President Obama a “skinny ghetto crackhead” during an appearance on Fox News, is leading a call for advertisers to boycott the Rachel Maddow Show. The move comes in retaliation for the boycott movement against Fox host Sean Hannity. Via Bozell’s outlet Newsbusters:

Media Research Center (MRC) President Brent Bozell today announced a new campaign that will focus on informing the American public and corporate advertisers about leftist shows and on-air personalities who use their programs to spread vicious lies and hate.

“We are putting the radical left on notice that we are on to them. We know the inside-outside game that radical organizations are playing with their leftist allies in the “news” media. The radical left’s effort to silence conservative media by targeting their advertisers with coordinated smear campaigns has gone unanswered, but today is the day the conservative movement fights back, but with a big difference: We’ll tell the truth. And we’ll take no prisoners.

“Every network and cable news channel is today on notice that the MRC will be closely monitoring their leftist opinion programs and informing their advertisers and the American public when these programs and hosts go beyond political commentary and engage in smear, hate and political extremism. The difference between our effort and what the left is engaged in is that we will demonstrate to the advertisers of these programs how the hosts of these shows are not simply engaged in disagreeable political discussion but rather outright hate and personal character assassination.

To counteract these fascistic tactics, #StoptheScalpings has decided to fight fire with fire. As long as Media Matters continues to attack conservatives, we will return them the same kindness. We begin with Rachel Maddow who has been the biggest purveyor of lies and propaganda in the media today. Like Media Matters, we will now inform the public and the advertisers about who they are financing.

While we prefer not to be involved in this type of effort, we need to be on equal footing. We will continue to announce the advertisers that finance these efforts and support these hosts who allow lies and conspiracy theories to permeate the airwaves. If Media Matters ceases these type of assaults, we will do the same.

Until then, we will list every advertiser that supports hosts like Rachel Maddow, an outright liar, and someone who deceives the public and defames conservatives on a daily basis. The question to these advertisers is: do they know what their dollars’ support?

Conservatives everywhere are joining #StoptheScalpings, unveiling the advertisers who sponsor the shows, hosts and networks that support the suppression of the First Amendment. Calls, protests, and subscription revocations will continue to occur in rapid response to this miscarriage of justice. The American people will not stand for any company or organization that believes in silencing the voices that do not agree with their own.
