Freedom Caucus Member To Attempt Forced Vote On Obamacare Repeal To See “Who Is Truly For It”

The Hill reports:

Rep. Mo Brooks (R-Ala.), a conservative member of the House Freedom Caucus, said Tuesday that he plans to file a discharge petition in an effort to force a vote on full repeal of ObamaCare.

Brooks has introduced a two-page bill to repeal the entire law, a measure that has no real path to passage given opposition from moderate Republicans and an inability to get through a filibuster in the Senate.

But Brooks says he wants to put members on record on where they stand by using the petition, which could force a vote if it gets signatures from a majority of House lawmakers. “We will find out who is truly for repeal of ObamaCare and who is not,” Brooks said.

Brooks was most recently in the news for his declaration that the Voting Rights Act is a “war against white people.”
