McConnell: Trump’s Wall Will Cost Up To $15B [VIDEO]

CNN reports:

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said Thursday that he expects the cost of building a wall along the Mexican border to be between $12 billion to $15 billion. But neither McConnell nor House Speaker Paul Ryan said precisely how Congress would pay for the wall, or whether they expect Mexico to repay the cost. Ryan said Thursday he expects President Donald Trump to submit a plan for paying for the wall, but did not want to talk about details before the White House submits its proposal.

More from The Hill:

Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) on Thursday downplayed President Trump’s headline-grabbing tweets and media interviews, saying they are working closely with the new president and are on the “same page” with his administration.

“This is going to be an unconventional presidency,” Ryan told reporters at the joint House-Senate GOP retreat, with McConnell standing by his side. “We’re going to see unconventional activities like tweets and things like that, and I think that’s something we’re all going to have to get used to.”

Added McConnell: “I don’t tend to be reacting to daily comments. What the Speaker has done which I entirely concur with and the administration is on board with is to lay out a game plan through the August recess of what we’ll try to accomplish.
