No one has claimed credit yet, but Twitter seems to have an idea who is behind it. The New York Daily News reports:
Someone hung a giant banner emblazoned with the image of Russian President Vladimir Putin from the Manhattan Bridge Thursday afternoon. Social media erupted with pictures of the large banner with a picture of Putin dressed in a suit in front of the Russian flag and the word “Peacemaker” inscribed along the bottom edge. The banner was unfurled shortly before 2 p.m. Cops did not immediately have details on the incident.
