Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Reince Priebus accused Fox News of only showing the “worst” polls for Donald Trump in a segment on Friday. When Fox anchor Melissa Francis noted Priebus’s prediction that Trump would catch Hillary Clinton at the polls by around Labor Day, Priebus pushed back.
He questioned why the network’s graphic used numbers from a head-to-head matchup between Trump (R) and Clinton (D), which showed the GOP nominee down by 6, instead of the four-way race with Green Party nominee Jill Stein and Libertarian nominee Gary Johnson, which was closer.
“You want to choose the worst that’s available. The Fox News poll showed him down by 3, Reuters showed it even, L.A. Times had him 2 points up.” Priebus went on to argue that polls have been trending in Trump’s favor recently.
