Angela Lansbury Stuns Lincoln Center Audience With Surprise Performance Of Beauty & The Beast [VIDEO]

Billboard reports:

The Film Society of Lincoln Center and Disney presented a special viewing of Beauty and the Beast on Sunday night (Sept. 18) in honor of the classic animated film’s 25th anniversary. While original voice cast members such as Robby Benson (Beast), Paige O’Hara (Belle), Angela Lansbury (Mrs. Potts) and Richard White (Gaston) had all signed on to appear at the event, no one expected what happened when Lansbury glided on stage.

Introduced by none other than (a costumed) Belle and the Beast, Lansbury dove into a stunning version of the film’s title track, adding her own spin, of course, and ending with an adorable quote from Mrs. Potts herself: “Run along and get in the cupboard, Chip. Time you was in bed.” The film was originally screened as a “Work in Progress” at the 29th annual New York Film Festival held in the same hall in September of 1991.
