Trans Concert Pianist Sara Davis Buechner To Perform At New York Mets LGBT Pride Night [VIDEO]

Back in February, I reported that the New York Mets will host its first-ever LGBT Pride Night on August 13th. Today we learn that pre-game entertainment will be provided by dance legend Martha Wash, the Lesbian & Gay Big Apple Marching Band, and renowned trans concert pianist Sara Davis Buechner. From Buechner’s Facebook page:

This is certainly one of the most unusual, and dare I say fabulous, musical appearances I will ever make — performing my arrangement of the New York Mets theme song “Meet the Mets” on a Yamaha piano with a huge sing-a-long, at Citifield in Queens, N.Y. When I saw the poster this morning, I was speechless. Better than Carnegie Hall, I say, where there’s no beer or hot dogs in the upper deck.
