GOP Maine Gov. Paul LePage Doubles Down: People Of Color Are The Enemy And You Shoot At The Enemy

From the New York Daily News:

In a failed attempt to rebuke claims that he is a racist, Maine’s unhinged governor Paul LePage told a room full of reporters that people of color are the “enemy” in his state’s war against drugs. “You shoot at the enemy, don’t you?” LePage said during a tense press conference the day after leaving a vile voice message for political rival state Rep. Drew Gattine. LePage called Gattine a ‘c–ksucker’ in the message after hearing that the left-leaning legislator had labeled him a racist.

“Look, a bad guy is a bad guy, I don’t care what color it is. When you go to war, if you know the enemy, the enemy dresses in red and you dress in blue, you shoot at red, don’t you?” he said. “You shoot at the enemy. You try to identify the enemy. And the enemy right now, the overwhelming majority right now coming in are people of color or people of Hispanic origin. I can’t help that. I just can’t help it. Those are the facts,”LePage said, using a binder full of drug offenders’ mug shots to bolster his bogus claim.
