Ted Cruz Shrugs Off Trump Nominating Him To The Supreme Court: “That Is Not A Desire Of My Heart”

The Hill reports:

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) on Friday said he isn’t interested in being nominated to the Supreme Court. “That is not a desire of my heart,” Cruz said during an interview with WBAP in Texas when asked if he had aspirations to become a justice.

“I have had several opportunities in the past to go to the bench, and I certainly deeply respect the job the justices do,” Cruz said. Some Republicans have floated Cruz, a former Texas solicitor general, as a potential pick to fill the court’s vacant seat should Donald Trump win the White House in November.
