Ted Cruz’s new ad about Donald Trump lying about him being a liar has a lie in it:
“Trump also had a $1 million judgment against him for hiring illegals,” the spot continues, an apparent reference to the $1 million lawsuit in the 1980s that sought the amount for Trump’s contractor hiring approximately 200 undocumented Polish immigrants to build Trump Tower. The video cites PolitiFact’s Feb. 25 fact-check from the debate held that evening, though the article itself notes that a judge ordered Trump pay only $325,000, and goes on to say that the case was settled out of court for an undisclosed amount.
