Shondaland has a message and that message is: “I’m with Hillary.” Shonda Rhimes, along with the stars of her TGIT shows (Scandal, How to Get Away With Murder and Grey’s Anatomy), Kerry Washington, Viola Davis and Ellen Pompeo, appeared in an ad for Hillary Clinton, comparing her to the protagonists of those series. Olivia Pope, Annalise Keating and Meredith Grey are “brilliant,” “complex” women who fight for justice and give voice “to the voiceless,” the actresses note. “Our characters are on television,” says Washington. “The real world has Hillary Clinton.”
