BRITAIN: BBC To Launch Reboot Of Smash 70s Sitcom Are You Being Served? This Fall

A new Mrs. Slocombe will soon be fretting about her pussy. From the Mirror:

Fans of Are You Being Served? will find the news of a reboot bittersweet. In an age where a reboot is growing in popularity, it would seem that nothing is safe as the British sitcom is being brought back.

It is the latest programme to be receiving a revamp, with Chortle confirming the news that the show is coming back to the BBC later this year. Adding to the news that it will be returning to our screens, it will also bring with it an “all-star cast” and will start filming on March 5th with a live studio audience.

The Are You Being Served? reboot forms part of the BBC’s “landmark comedy season” which will kick off later this year.

The new version of the British sitcom will reportedly “pick up where Jeremy Lloyd and David Croft’s much-loved comedy left off” as it promises to “bring some of the nation’s all-time favourite sitcom characters including Mrs Slocombe, Captain Peacock, Miss Brahms, and Mr Humphries back to life with an all-star cast”.

The original series launched in 1972 and ran for 69 episodes.
