New Trump Ad: Cruz Doesn’t Hate Immigrants [VIDEO]

Donald Trump and Ted Cruz are now warring on the airwaves. On Friday, Trump released a new ad questioning Cruz’s stance on immigration policy and highlighting a December interview on FOX News, when the Texas senator stumbled to articulate his past positions on legal status for undocumented immigrants.

In the interview, FOX News host Bret Baier pressed Cruz on his support of an amendment to the 2013 comprehensive immigration reform bill that would have eliminated a path to citizenship but allowed some undocumented immigrants to stay in the country legally. Cruz has long maintained that the amendment was a “poison pill” intended to derail the legislation.

Trump’s ad — which is slated to run in Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina — contrasts Cruz’s sometimes stuttered answers to Baier’s questions with Trump’s statements that “we have to have a country.”
