Happy New Year, JMG Community!

Another action-packed year has come and gone for this here website thingy, which in a few months will mark its 12th year. I want to thank everyone most sincerely for sticking with me during our long-overdue departure from The Google. There were a few coding hiccups at the start, but the dust thankfully settled quickly and we finished the year at about 31 million pageviews on just over 8000 posts. As I mention in this post every year, blogging is like a homework assignment that is never done, but is always due. Nevertheless, you all make it a lot easier with your emails, your story tips, and your encouragement.

When they write the history of our movement, 2015 will be right up there next to Stonewall. It was truly a thrill to sit on my side of your screen as we all watched the dominoes of hate fall state by state. I actually miss the joy of posting all those updates as the now-moot Wikipedia map made its inexorable march towards coast-to-coast sapphire blue. And I suspect that like me, some of your jaws are still agape at the sight of the White House illuminated in those beautiful rainbow hues.

I thank you all for your robust opinions and for making the JMG comments section the most lively in the entire homo-blogosphere. I’m happy to have met so many of you at JMG meetups and look forward to meeting many more of you over the next year. Tonight, I’ll be raising my glass to each and every one of our flying monkeys. I’ll be raising it a lot! We’ve got a lot of work left to do and all of you, merely by being out and proud, are activists in our battle. Onward to 2016 and FUCK the haters!
