As I mentioned in the comments of a post last night, last week’s JMG capacity fix proved to be short-lived and yesterday we again suffered through some agonizing site issues driven by unusually high traffic. (Thanks, Josh Duggar!) Therefore at 11PM tonight this here website thingy will again hitch up her skirts and migrate to a fancy deluxe high-capacity standalone solid-state drive server, which should resolve these fucking annoying load time problems. Nothing will change on your end but the tech guys have burdened with me with a lot of incomprehensible talk about DNS and propagation and warnings that it might be several hours before readers in some parts of the world will see JMG updates. (I’m sure our resident IT bears can explain why that is.) Tomorrow morning’s first post will go up at 7AM Eastern as always so if you don’t see it right away, just hang on for a bit. We’re nearly three weeks into the site move and both traffic and comment volume have increased nicely, mostly due to better social media interactivity. (BTW – have you followed JMG on Facebook yet?) There are still some tweaks and improvements to come and I thank you once again for following JMG over from The Google to our new home. Help yourself to some punch and cookies and please don’t let the cat out.
