In today’s delicious chapter of the continuing teabagger civil war, Ann Coulter is calling Fox News host Bill O’Reilly “stupid” for telling Donald Trump that the 14th Amendment cannot be overturned by the courts. Trump’s statement on the 14th Amendment and “anchor babies” has rippled across the 2016 GOP presidential field. Via Business Insider:
Almost immediately after Trump released his plan, multiple Republican presidential candidates — many of whom are hoping to steal some of Trump’s current supporters if he eventually flames out — came out in favor of ending birthright citizenship for children of immigrants living in the country illegally. Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal and Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, both Republicans, said they were in favor of ending birthright citizenship. Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina), no fan of Trump, in an interview on CNN decried “birth tourism” and said he would like to see the policy of birthright citizenship ended. They join Sen. Rand Paul (R-Kentucky), Republican New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, and former Sen. Rick Santorum (R-Pennsylvania), who have all expressed varying degrees of support for changing the 14th Amendment in the past.
Anchor baby Bobby Jindal, it must be pointed out, was born four months after his parents arrived from India. They, however, came into the country legally on a student visa.
