AFA Claims Victory As Hilton Drops In-Room Porn

The American Family Association is declaring victory over perversion today, reporting that Hilton Hotels no longer offers in-room adult movies. Via press release:

Since 1992, AFA has been pleading with Hilton to get out of the pornography business. We’re glad to announce that efforts by AFA and our friends at Morality in Media (MIM) have been fruitful. Over the years, AFA supporters have sent tens of thousands of emails to Hilton’s headquarters office, while MIM and National Center on Sexual Exploitation listed Hilton on it’s “Dirty Dozen” list of companies. A statement from Hilton Worldwide said: “We are making immediate changes to our global brand standards to eliminate adult video-on-demand entertainment in all our hotels worldwide…we have listened carefully to our customers and have determined that adult video-on-demand entertainment is not in keeping with our company’s vision and goals moving forward.” In recent years, a number of hoteliers have dropped these pay-per-view services from their business platforms, such as Marriott, Omni, Drury, Ritz-Carlton and Nordic Choice Hotels.

At this writing Hilton remains on the AFA’s above-cited “Dirty Dozen” list of companies and organizations contributing to “sexual exploitation.”
