No SCOTUS Ruling On Marriage Today

The US Supreme Court today handed down rulings in several cases but Obergefell was not among them. As I noted last Monday, most expect the marriage ruling to come in late June, but court watchers will be paying close attention on Mondays and Thursdays – the days that decisions are traditionally announced. (Today’s rulings were delayed due to yesterday’s holiday.) But that tradition does not always apply, particularly for landmark cases. Windsor,
for example, was issued on Wednesday, June 26th, four days before LGBT
pride events in New York City and San Francisco. This year’s pride
parades in those two cities will be held on June 28th and the marriage
rulings could come the next day. Or anytime before then.
