BROOKLYN: Transgender Woman Critically Injured In Brutal Street Attack

The NYPD Hate Crimes Task Force is investigating a brutal street attack on Brooklyn transgender woman that took place on Sunday night. From the New York Daily News:

The four bias brutes who beat a 28-year-old transgender woman unconscious on a Brooklyn street corner — leaving her with critical injuries — spewed anti-gay epithets and demanded to know what she was doing on their block before the merciless attack, police said Tuesday. Cops are hunting for the fearsome foursome responsible for the vicious assault at the corner of Bushwick Ave. and Halsey St. in Bushwick at 11:20 p.m. Sunday. Witnesses told police that the victim was nearing the corner when the attackers started yelling at her, targeting her with anti-gay epithets. “What are you doing on this block?” one of the punks demanded. The victim yelled back at the group, then stormed off, officials said. The creeps followed before kicking her repeatedly until she fell to the ground.

Two of the suspects were filmed by store cameras in a nearby bodega. Police are seeking help in identifying them.
