SAN DIEGO: Catholic Group To Pray For Chastity And Purity At Pride Parade

A group of local Catholics plans to demonstrate at next weekend’s San Diego Pride parade where they will pray the rosary against the “satanic evil” of homosexuality. Via California Catholic Daily:

We’ll meet at St. John the Evangelist parish, 1638 Polk Ave. in Hillcrest, for 5:45 p.m. Mass followed by 7:00 p.m. Adoration and Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament, and then begin our walk immediately afterward. We’ll pray aloud the entire Rosary (all 20 decades) and the Divine Mercy Chaplet for purity and chastity as we walk the “pride” parade route along University and Sixth Avenues. Our walk will take us past many “gay” bars and other restaurants where many “pride”-goers will be partying. Please bring sacramentals, such as holy water and blessed salt, religious images, and crucifixes. Last year, we had only a handful of prayer walk participants, and the crowds were very hostile to our presence. We expect similar hostility this year, so we really need more prayer warriors–and our Lord Jesus Christ needs us to be His witness in the midst of this satanic evil.

It’s unclear if the demonstration is sanctioned by their church.
