Branding Fail

The Independent reports: As sending positive brand signals go, naming your mascot Fukuppy is probably a step in the wrong direction. Indeed, it would seem this refrigerator company have had their very own fukuppy with the unfortunate christening of this cartoon egg. Social media users seized on the winged ovum’s name to ridicule Fukushima Industries’ mascot, with initial reports linking …

Anti-gay forces in San Antonio have failed to gather the required signatures needed to place a repeal of the recently passed LGBT non-discrimination bill on the public ballot. Michael Serrato – Rambo, But Gay

The Nerdist has a review: From one of the brilliantly twisted minds that brought you Neil’s Puppet Dreams comes the retelling of Rambo you never knew you needed, complete with three musical numbers and more homoerotic subtext than a Whitesnake music video: Michael Serrato’s Rambo…But Gay. Okay, maybe subtext is a generous term, but as Serrato explains in the video, …

Quote Of The Day – Tommy Christopher

“First of all, I don’t if you’re aware of this, but when I had a heart attack three years ago, I was uninsured, and I haven’t been able to get insurance ever since then. Listening to all the pressure on the president to negotiate, a lot of it from inside this room, it made me think, is there a chance …

Today’s Teapocrisy Alert

If you go to any of the Tea Party sites today, you’ll see that they are VERY UPSET about the above sign displayed at an Organizing For Obama rally at the US Capitol. And in the comments of those posts, you’ll see many, many examples of the most common epithet long used against progressives: “libtard.” (Less commonly, “leftard.”) The sign …

Fox News Host Sean Hannity Attacks GOP

“Either you believe that we need radical, positive, oriented solutions for this country and you willing to fight for them or you’re not. Is it a third party we need? I’ve often argued no. I’m not so sure anymore. It may be time for a new conservative party in America. I’m sick of these guys. The problem here is the …

Pat Robertson Slams GOP

“The Republicans have got to wave the white flag and say, ‘We fought a good fight and now it’s over.’ They cannot shut the government down and then bring about a default. We can’t do it. I mean, it would be devastating economically to every human being and the Republicans just can’t get tarred with that. So they tried and …

Via Business Insider: There are a lot of ways to make New York City’s subway system better. More lines. Cleaner, faster, more high-tech trains. Lower fares. WiFi everywhere. All of that, however, would cost a lot of money — and the Metropolitan Transportation Authority doesn’t have much cash on hand. But there are ways to make things nicer without heavy …
