Freep This San Antonio Poll

You know what to do. Hundreds are expected to attend tonight’s meeting.

The council will begin its “citizens to be heard” meeting at 6 p.m., though chambers will open to the public three hours earlier. Officials have designated two additional rooms in the Municipal Complex for overflow seating. Last week, more than 500 people signed up to speak on the proposed ordinance, which would add protections from discrimination based on sexual orientation, gender identity and veteran status. It’s been a controversial issue that’s drawn national attention. That’s despite the fact that about 180 cities across the U.S., including every major Texas municipality, already have adopted similar protections.
