The Horse Has Thrown The Rider

“In the old days, the Republican ego had control of the party’s id. The id, sometimes described as a galloping horse or crying baby, ‘the dark, inaccessible part of our personality … chaos, a cauldron full of seething excitations,’ as Freud called it, was whipped up obliquely by candidates. Nixon had his Southern strategy of using race as a wedge, …

The Sacramento Bee reports: The new Field survey shows support has leapt markedly in the three and a half years since California voters approved Proposition 8, which banned gay marriage, 52.3 percent to 47.7 percent. The poll showed increases in support virtually across the board – among voters under 64, non-white voters, Catholics, Republicans and nonpartisans. Poll Director Mark DiCamillo …

Infighting Is Funny, Part 96

“Ann Coulter has lied about and vilified conservatives who threaten the candidacy of Mitt Romney, whom she calls the “most conservative” candidate. Just this week, she again falsely claimed Romney to be the most conservative, falsely asserted that Sarah Palin is an establishment Republican, and falsely contended that Romney really won in Iowa. Coulter has also dismissed the Tea Party …

But attorney general candidate Stephen Pidgeon claims there is no intent to confuse voters. The initiative language clearly states that a successful modification of the law would ban homosexual marriage. But while Referendum 74 needs “no” votes and Initiative 1192 needs voters to …

The Attack Of The Lesbian

“Judge White is out of order. He is unconstitutional by ruling DOMA unconstitutional. This is a judicial act of tyranny and it must be appealed, and I’m glad that it is being appealed. Barack Obama won’t even defend marriage rights between a man and a woman, so House Republicans are defending against this lesbian attack on the exclusiveness of marriage.” …

This Saturday In Manhattan

NYC Queers Against Israeli Apartheid intend to occupy Manhattan’s LGBT Center this weekend. Last February the LGBT Center refused meeting space to the group after a threatened donor boycott by porn producer Michael Lucas, who is an ardent Zionist and what some consider to be an anti-Palestinian racist. That refusal resulted in an anti-Center petition campaign from the opposing camp, …
