Gingrich Campaign Head: Missing The Virginia Ballot Is Like Pearl Harbor

As I reported on Saturday, Newt Gingrich failed to raise the required petition signatures to get on Virginia’s primary ballot. Today his campaign head says on Facebook:

Newt and I agreed that the analogy is December 1941: We have experienced an unexpected set-back, but we will re-group and re-focus with increased determination, commitment and positive action. Throughout the next months there will be ups and downs; there will be successes and failures; there will be easy victories and difficult days – but in the end we will stand victorious.

John Aravosis responds at AmericaBlog:

That reminds me of the time I was at the circus and tried to get one of those cute little stuffed animals by using the big metal hooks that you control like a crane inside a glass box. I remember constantly dropping the toy before I could move it to the retrieval slot. Then time ran out. It was like Auschwitz.
