NOM Signs Up Corporations Who Pledge Not To Discriminate Against Bigots

Continuing their “We’re Being Oppressed!” campaign of lies and misinformation, NOM has launched a drive to get corporations to pledge “not to discriminate against marriage supporters.” And by “marriage supporters,” NOM means anti-gay bigots.

The National Organization for Marriage’s Corporate Fairness Project today announced that both Bank of America and the Cisco Corporation have promised not to discriminate against employees or vendors who publicly oppose same-sex marriage. “After interviewing Frank Turek about the abrupt cancellations of his seminar by both Cisco and Bank of America, we wrote to the board of each company raising our concern and asking if company policy really permits otherwise qualified employees and vendors to be punished for speaking out on a public issue like same-sex marriage,” said Jonathan Baker, Director of NOM’s Corporate Fairness Project.

Frank Turek is a freelance corporate trainer whose contract was not renewed after it was revealed that he is also the author of several viciously anti-gay books. In a barrage of press releases about Turek, NOM consistently lied about his freelance status and characterized him as an employee who had been fired for opposing same-sex marriage. In fact, he was nothing more than a vendor.
