Pam Spaulding reports that country singer Matt Boswell and his Hillbilly Blues Band have been banned from future performances by the city of Reidsville, North Carolina after a live broadcast from a city festival where he performed an altered version of a Merle Haggard song that included the anti-gay lyric, “And you can’t get married, you stupid gays and queers, so why don’t you go somewhere else?”
The most interesting thing about this little incident is that a small town in North Carolina did the right thing afterwards. That’s got to give you some hope.
