The trailer for the movie version of Mamma Mia!, starring Meryl Streep, has been released.

Hairspray and Sweeney Todd have received Golden Globe nominations for Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy.

Best Actress – Nicki Blonski (Hairspray)
Best Actress – Helena Bonham Carter (Sweeney Todd).
Best Actor – Johnny Depp (Sweeney Todd)
Best Supporting Actor -John Travolta (Hairspray).

– Terrence Howard and Tony Award winners Anika Noni Rose, James Earl Jones, and Phylicia Rashad will star in the upcoming Broadway revival of Tennessee Williams’ Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. Debbie Allen will direct. Previews begin at the Broadhurst Theater on February 12, with an official opening scheduled for March 6.

– One-time Broadway actress Madonna (Speed The Plow) was elected to the Rock and Rock Hall of Fame yesterday. Elvis wept.

– Monsoon Wedding is being adapted for a upcoming Broadway debut. Let’s hope it’s better than Bombay Dreams.

– Tony nominees Kiki & Herb will release a DVD titled Kiki & Herb: Live At The Knitting Factory on January 2nd. Filmed live on May 17th this year, the DVD will include bonus videos of Not Without My Napalm, Live at the Fez, Banging in the Nails and The King Must Die.
