All Gay’s Go To Hell

The girlfriend of JMG reader Brenda spotted the above graffiti on two MTA signs at the Canal Street station. Since the signs are locked, an inside job is suspected. But like our tipster, we are far more offended by this abuse of punctuation than by its infantile message.

As a follow-up to yesterday’s subway flasher post, go read what Jezebel has dug up about an entire subculture of repulsive men who share their “flashing exploits” online. I have to wonder how much the advent of cellphone cameras is thwarting these bozos. A lot, we hope.

Instant Subway Hero

This subway flasher totally picked the wrong woman to mess with. From one account, it appears that the flasher had a condom on and was flashing his junk from behind his messenger bag. This guy is so busted, he doesn’t even defend himself.

Gothamist tips us to this cool clip of the giant tunnel-boring machine breaking through the final wall of rock to extend the 7 train out to 11th Avenue. Very sci-fi. You have to wade through a minute of Bloomberg’s blah blah blah first.

MTA Proposes More Fare Changes

The eternally cash-strapped MTA has announced a couple of proposed changes that won’t find many fans. Millions of straphangers would be hit with a $1 surcharge when they get a new MetroCard from a vending machine instead of refilling an old one under one of the MTA’s leading fare-hike and revenue-raising plans, The Post has learned. “It would provide an …

FML

Changes to NYC’s subway lines have resulted in the above new signage. MTA officials say they were unaware that “FML” has become internet shorthand for “Fuck my life.” They say they will redesign the signs. (I always thought the lines should appear in alphabetical order anyway.) The Second Avenue subway will be called the T line, opening the possibility for …

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority now offers delay verification reports on the Web, complete with excuse notes that riders can show to disgruntled employers. All straphangers have to do is enter a subway station, the time of their trip, any transfer information, their …
