Dear Friend, I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for the honor of serving you in the United States Senate and to share with you some of the work and accomplishments of which we can all be proud. As I look back on eight years of service in the Senate, I am gratified by all we’ve been able …

HomoQuotable – Daniel O’Donnell

I ran into NY Assemblyman Daniel O’Donnell this weekend and he gave me this quote about his interview with Gov. Paterson for Hillary Clinton’s Senate seat: “I am honored to be considered for any appointment by Governor Paterson. I am especially flattered to be mentioned among individuals who could replace the singular Senator from New York, Hillary Rodham Clinton, in …

Disgraced Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich is somehow barreling forward and will today name Attorney General Roland Burris to fill the Senate seat vacated by Barack Obama. But the pick may not stick. O’Donnell Interviews For Clinton Seat

Openly gay NY state Assemblyman Daniel O’Donnell interviewed with Gov. Paterson yesterday for Hillary Clinton’s Senate seat. To say Mr. O’Donnell, known for his active support of gay rights issues, including same-sex marriage, was overly optimistic about his chances would be a stretch. He put his odds of getting the seat at about one in 10, or “about the same …

Caroline Kennedy: Yes To Gay Marriage

Caroline Kennedy began actively campaigning to replace Hillary Clinton last week. On Saturday her spokesperson told the NY Times that Kennedy supports same-sex marriage. In most respects, Ms. Kennedy’s answers described views similar to those of other New York Democrats, including New York’s senior senator, Charles E. Schumer, and Mrs. Clinton. But she appears to support same-sex marriage, a significant …

Palin Still Clueless About The Job

When a third-grader asked her what the VP does, Palin said: “That’s a great question, Brandon. And a vice president has a really great job because not only are they there to support the president’s agenda, they’re like the team member, the teammate to that president, but also they’re in charge of the United State Senate. So if they want …

Sen. Roger Wicker (R-MS): The Village People Support My Opponent

Via Talking Points Memo: Check out this new ad from Sen. Roger Wicker (R-MS), who is facing a tough challenge from former Gov. Ronnie Musgrove (D). This ad ties Musgrove, who is a pro-life social conservative and economic populist, to the liberal Democratic leadership in Washington — and apparently to the Village People, too. “The largest gay-rights group in the …

30% Chance That Dems Take Over Senate

FiveThirtyEight is estimating a 30% chance that Democrats will get a filibuster-proof 60 seats in the Senate. Noteworthy movement since our previous update includes Minnesota, which our model is finally giving to Al Franken after Rasmussen and Quinnipiac polls put him slightly ahead; North Carolina, where Kay Hagan is hardly out of the woods but now clearly appears to be …

This may be the last you see of Sen. Larry Craig. Here’s a short bit of his final address to the Senate yesterday. It was just last year that Sen. Larry E.
