LIVE VIDEO: Senate Committee Votes On Kavanaugh

The Wall Street Journal reports:

The Senate Judiciary Committee on Friday was set to cast a vote on recommending whether Brett Kavanaugh should be confirmed to the Supreme Court in an early indication of the ramifications of an extraordinary hearing Thursday.

The most pivotal figure Friday morning will be Sen. Jeff Flake (R., Ariz.), who is retiring when his term expires early next year and is the only senator among a handful of undecided lawmakers who sits on the Judiciary Committee, which meets at 9:30 Friday.

If he votes against Judge Kavanaugh on Friday, Mr. Flake wouldn’t prevent the nomination from reaching the Senate floor; in 1987 the panel recommended against confirming Robert Bork, but Judge Bork got a Senate floor vote, where he was rejected. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R., Ken.) has said Mr. Kavanaugh will receive a Senate vote.
