Sean Hannity Takes Top Spot In July Nielsen Ratings

Fox News continued its command of the basic cable landscape in July by topping its competition in total viewers, with Sean Hannity leading the way in prime time. Hannity and Tucker Carlson took the top-two spots overall in the cable news ratings race, delivering an average of 3.37 million viewers and 2.70 million viewers respectively in winning their respective timeslots of 9 p.m. and 8 p.m. ET.

MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow continued to have MSNBC’s top-rated program, with the Oxford Rhodes Scholar registering an average of 2.67 million viewers per night in taking third place. Laura Ingraham, coming off her highest-rated quarter since launching in October 2017, finished fourth overall while winning her 10 p.m. timeslot, averaging 2.61 million viewers per night and topping MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell’s 2.117 million viewers.
