BREAKING: Shooting At Maryland High School

The Washington Post reports:

Authorities in St. Mary’s County, Md., said they are investigating a shooting at a high school but had few details on any injuries or the status of the person who fired shots. Cpl. Julie Yingling, a spokeswoman for the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office, said at 8:15 a.m. that officials “have a shooting at Great Mills High School.”

“It is fluid,” she said of the situation. On its web site, St. Mary’s County Public Schools wrote, “There has been a shooting at Great Mills High School.” They also said “the school is on lock down and the event is contained.”

We need to get fresh blood in that is not afraid, or in the pocket, of the NRA. Even some Dems need to be flipped out. We need people that will actually do something and pass substantial gun control legislation. Fuck the whine babies that claim to be responsible gun owners, there is no such thing. A gun is meant for killing. If a “responsible gun owner” can’t kill an “intruder” with six or nine bullets then they shouldn’t have a gun in the first place.

          I heard a report, the children are instructed to lie on their stomachs, feet towards the door if shooter is inside the building. Shot in the foot’s less trauma than upper torso or head.

          The oldest is 13 or 14 now and very bright. He says in a teenager way he knows it is irrational, but he just is scared when he hears them.

            When I was a kid, we used to have fireworks as a treat – and cook potatoes in the embers of the bonfire and eat toffee apples and parkin and other foods that were just special for the day.

            That fireworks instill fear in kids today is sorrowful beyond belief.

    I grew up Amish. And when people hear that they often say how lucky I am to have been sheltered from tragedies like this. But one of the most concrete memories I have is the day that a gunman walked into a Amish schoolhouse lined up all the girls and shot them execution-style in the head.
    That had to have been at least a decade ago.

    I want to believe that the kids in Florida have sparked a revolution but I’m pessimistic.

            It was somewhat expected for me. We had a next door neighbor (also Amish) who had a child killed by a drunk driver. They showed up in court and told the judge to be fair but lenient. That they didn’t want the driver’s children to grow up without a father
