MISSOURI: Republican Party Blames George Soros Over Arrest Of Governor On Felony Revenge Porn Charge

Mediaite reports:

The Missouri GOP has finally released an official statement on the scandal that has enveloped Gov. Eric Greitens (R-MO,) which found the politician slapped with an invasion of privacy charge, stemming from his extramarital affair with a woman in 2015.

In a bizarre bit of narrative jiu jitsu, the party somehow has laid the blame at the feet of billionaire, and bogeyman to the alt-right, George Soros. While Greitens is still acting governor, he canceled a trip to Washington D.C. today for the annual meeting of the National Governors Association.

  • Todd20036

Isn’t it amazing that the members of the party of responsibility never take responsibility for crimes they are a party of.

  • AmeriCanadian

Frankly, I’m in disbelief that they haven’t blamed Obama and/or Hillary yet. What is taking so god-damn long????

    • RobynWatts

They are working on it. Bullshit can only be stretched so far.

    • cleos_mom

Soros is the place holder, so to speak.

  • DoctorDJ
  • Boreal

How can one join these George Soros groups and get paid? Cause I’m still waiting on my check from him from the last election.

    • PickyPecker

How are your Crisis Acting skills?

      • Boreal

Top notch. I can cry on demand for a stranger’s funeral if enough cash is involved.

        • WNY
          • David Walker

Thank you, WNY. You have no idea how many actors I know who try for this in everything they do. God, I wish I could forward this anonymously to a few of them. “Emote” doesn’t even come close. This picture is officially on file. It is also just fucking priceless. Thanks again.

        • Joe in PA

          if enough cash is involved…

So now that we’ve established WHAT you are…let’s talk about rates. Ahem.

          • Boreal

Do you have a client funeral for me to cry at? Cash + daily expenses. Extra fee for wailing. Discount given for tropical locales.

          • yes b’y

what about dropping onto the casket as it’s being lowered into the grave?

          • Boreal

            That’s pricey but doable.

  • Jefe5084

Mr. Soros seems to have a very busy schedule lately.

    • cleos_mom

For someone who most people don’t know what he looks like, he’s the most powerful man in the solar system.

      • Steverino

Even more powerful than the Koch Brothers.

        Oh, wait…

    • Bambino

His bank accounts are certainly going into overdrive. He better not ask for receipts. It could wipe out the forest in Amazon.

  • Xiao Ai: The Social Gadfly

    I blame Obamillary, libruhl’s, gays,…

But not guns or Russia. I would never blame them!

  • Boreal
    • zhera

Is that Alex Jones as a fetus?

      • David Walker

        Alex out of make-up.

  • CPT_Doom

Revenge porn – which is the threat the governor allegedly made – is a new threat, so of course the laws haven’t been used much to deal with it. Idiots.

    • Todd20036

Beats threatening to kill someone, at least.

  • Ninja0980

So that’s where the money George Soros owes me went!

  • Bambino

God damn it George! I’m still waiting to be paid three of my protests dated back in 2016!

  • JWC

good ole GOP blame blame blame chose one: Dems ,Obama, Clinton. or look here another Soros Have the balls to take responsibility for your own crooked actions

  • RobynWatts

Damnit!! Soros has time to undermine the Governor of Missouri, yet I can’t get paid for being a professional protester or crisis actor!!!! 😂

  • dagobarbz, fine Italian shoes

If the GOP had higher standards, they wouldn’t have this problem. Fraudsters, racists, bible thumpers, the list of deplorables goes on and on.

    • Rambie

Even if the GOP had higher standards pond scum could still look down on them.

    • Bambino

Let’s just stick with standards. It’s a level they have yet to reach.

  • Pollos Hermanos

    Soros!

    Drink.

    • greenmanTN

“Please, no more!” – my liver

      • Bambino

Now, now it’s Friday and barely passed noon.

        • greenmanTN

          It’s six o’clock somewhere.

          • Bambino

Good! Gotta catch up on my drinking.

          • ChrisMorley

It’s already past 7pm in Britain, so go ahead.

          • pansarsweden

            Past 8pm here.

          • greenmanTN

I knew there was a reason I like the British!

          • David Walker

OT question, ChrisMorley. Do you know if the March for Our Lives on March 24 is scheduled for the old US embassy or the new one? The only information on the March’s site for Sister Marches is that the place is the US Embassy. Is the new one open, sans the fucking moron’s presence?

          • Boreal

It’s time. Heading for the beverage center to buy some high test beer shortly.

          • Mike_in_the_Tundra

            Or 4:20 somewhere.

          • ColdCountry

Make that five, and I’ll buy you one.

            https://youtu.be/BPCjC543llU

    • DonnaLee

      Dude, Soros is just everywhere!

  • Lumpy Gaga

Apparently Governor Hogtie isn’t so resilient when it comes to resisting the spell of Soros.

  • Michael R
  • Sam_Handwich

Of course it’s Soros!! Hillary!! Holder!!! Fast and Furious!! Lynch!!! Obama-lama-ding-dong!!! BENGHAAAZEEEEE the mother fuckin Lizard people are coming for us all!!!!

    • Don’t worry. It’s stupid easy to outrun Sleestaks. All they do is hiss and shamble.

    • Gerry Fisher

      I hate when that happens

  • Christopher

I KNEW this was gonna be fun!

    LMAO!

These people will say anything but the truth.

  • Lazycrockett

    Boggles the mind.

  • Bambino

I was told he is carrying a “Marco Rubio”. It’s what the kids call them these days. Did I get my weapon right?

  • Nic Peterson

Because prosecuting someone under established law makes a DA ‘anti law enforcement’. Right. That makes total fucking sense. GOP sheeple will buy it.

  • SkokieGuy / May attempt snark

My God, they are Johnny-One-Note. Or maybe our side is just fortunate (?) that there are so many actual villains on the right. And they are actually causing the harm, not some fantasy bogey men.

  • Frostbite

For once something that wasn’t part of the gay agenda!

  • Mike C
    • Boreal
      • SkokieGuy / May attempt snark

        Boreal Boreal Boreal *waiting*

Hope you like cold cuts and gin. Oh, and you can rub my cat’s tummy, he has a defective “I am a cat” gene and actually likes it.

      • AmeriCanadian

I have a snake that likes to be pet. I’ll have to try this tonight. 😉

        • Bad Tom

Send up a flare (if you can) if you need help.

    • Joe

      LOL! Thanks for the laugh!!!

    • GanymedeRenard

Oh but he’s right there, next to Beetlejuice and Bloody Mary!

    • David Walker

Good lord. How much money does Mr. Soros have? More than the Kochs? At least Soros pays starving actors instead of immoral politicians. Plus, crisis actors are given a recording of their performance to edit into their demo reel.

  • zhera
  • SkokieGuy / May attempt snark

I feel bad for Reverend Jeremiah Wright. He hasn’t been blamed for anything lately.

And what happened to the Alinski Playbook?

  • Ninja0980

I’m glad some people (not that it would matter) told this ungrateful piece of shit that without the liberals he bashes so much, he would have no rights at all.

  • Sam_Handwich

Dotard presser with Australian PM coming up shortly. If anyone gives a flying fuck.

  • Nic Peterson

That’s right! The crime was committed by a family values GOPer, against a lowly woman and her cuckold husband. Thus invalidating any guilt by the Republican.

  • HZ81

Damn librulz! We’re always forcing the right to commit crimes and treason!! How do we do it?

    • Snarkaholic

Step 1: Exist, which infuriates the right, resulting in…
Step 2: …them consuming huge amounts of booze/drugs, leading to…
Step 3: …them now unwilling/unable to hide their vile urges, ending in…
Step 4: …them committing crimes and treason!

      • HZ81

Damn it, you’ve published the system! Luckily, most of them can’t read. 🙂

  • MBear

Interesting that they sont deny that he committed the crime…or did i read that wrong? Just making excuses…all of which could be addressed by sound bites from Dragnet

  • Ninja0980

I’m sure they’ll mention that Greitens was a registered Democrat for most of his life soon enough and hope people forget he was a Republican at all.

  • Gigi

If this turd had been caught by his wife having sex with a woman in his office, the GOP still would have blamed Soros. No accountability or personal responsibility. Very Trumpian.

    • GanymedeRenard

      But her emails…

  • Yalma Cuder-Zicci

Has he blamed the Main Stream Media yet?

  • Harveyrabbit

“In a bizarre bit of narrative jiu jitsu,”

I don’t know what this “Jew Jitsu” thing is but it’s gonna piss of the alt-right nazis

  • Tor

It’s always the fault of someone else. Party of personal responsibility, my ass.

  • thatotherjean

That Soros guy sure gets around. How come, between Soros and Hillary, Democrats don’t rule the world?

    • GanymedeRenard

That’s not part of Jesus’ plan. XD

  • Remember when Republicans impeached and tried to remove a sitting President over a consensual affair…?

    Yeah, quaint times.

Lost in the deliberate GOP obfuscation is the fact that although Greitens’ affair started out consensual, he quickly turned it into something sick and morally despicable, attempting to use the photos he took to extort and blackmail this woman.

  • cleos_mom

    “Soros….. Soros….. Soros…. AHHHHHHH-LINSKY!”

Gesundheit. (ist bester als Die Krankheit)

    • Boreal

Ich bin bereit mich zu betrinken

  • Buford

Of COURSE they blamed George Soros for this. That’s because Republicans are the party of individual responsibility.

    Oh…um… wait a second…

    • Tulle Christensen

I don’t think it was a forgone conclusion, they has Soros, Obama, and anyone with the last name Clinton to choose from

  • ‘Til Tuesday

I honestly don’t care what a person does with regards to their sexual life as long as it’s consenting adults. If the governor wants some kink on the side, that’s between him, her, and his spouse to work out. So I’m not gonna blast him for the sex. In fact, I wish just once that a politician would stand up and say “Yeah, I had an affair and I liked it, and frankly it’s none of your damn business”. It’s the hypocrisy, threats to blackmail, etc. that I’m against.

    • Mike__in_Houston

+1000 Bill Clinton could have saved himself a whole lot of trouble if he had done just that.

  • Gustav2

My, my, my, Mr Soros is a busy man. Very busy.

    • GanymedeRenard

      Thanks, Obama! / s

  • Proud MOFO Beaner (bkb)
  • Kevin Perez

I thought for certain that this was Obama’s fault.

    • Boreal

It will be. Just give it a bit of time.

  • Blake J Butler

The guy was a DINO (the bad kind) who supported Obama before he was convinced to run as a conservative republican.

But yeah kim gardner forced Greitens to have an affair with a woman and blackmail her with a video he taped of her, if she ever told anyone about the affair with Greitens.

But yeah its not Greitens fault.

  • BlindBill

So they agree that “family values” Greitens had a mistress (who was also married) that his wife did not know about, they agree that “family values” Greitens secretly took naked pictures of the mistress without permission, they agree that “family values” Greitens threatened to use the pictures to blackmail the mistress.

…. but they do not agree that none of the events that lead to Greitens felony arrest could have been avoided if Greitens actually lived by “family values” – you can not make this stuff up people.

    • CraigNJ

Give the guy a break. He’s a good christian and prayed for forgiveness so all has been forgiven. If the state can’t recognize that he’s he’s been absolved of his sins then they are interfering with his religious liberty.

  • TheManicMechanic

    Go, Soros!

  • Michael McReavy

I’m surprised that the Missouri GOP hasn’t explicitly made this a part of their explanation. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/7957c1def44dfa28b28fc1742a149138bfcb306abc9a00312d4daff30f6dc6f6.jpg

  • I wish Soros was as active as the Koch’s.

  • GanymedeRenard

    Wut?

  • Tulle Christensen

Wait how is this not Hillary’s fault?

    • She’s only a woman, therefore it must be Soros or Obama right-wing logic.

  • Joe in PA

Hmmm, trying to oust a “law and order” governor by using law and order.

    I love irony.

  • bkmn

Soros is 87, who will they blame when he dies?

    • Tulle Christensen

      Zombie Soros

      • Reality.Bites

Revived with the life essence Hillary’s death ray stole from Breitbart founder.

  • tim870

Have they blamed the mistress yet for tricking him into having an affair in the first place? Cause it’s clearly her fault. /s

  • Piet

Wow. St Louis liberals. As if.

    • Phil Touchette

Hey– liberals do exist in St. Louis…we are just vastly outnumbered by the rest of Missouri that isn’t Kansas City.

      • Piet

My poor brother lives there. He tells me it’s a lonely, lonely existence politically. Vastly outnumbered is right.

  • William

Change ‘Elvis’ to ‘Soros’ and sing along.

    https://youtu.be/mpb4ZAAP6Z4

  • Galvestonian

    It’s never a Republicans fault ! NEVER !!!

  • Billy Green

Funny, I would have laid the blame on the governor for actually having done it.

Sounds a bit like Scooby-Doo: “And I would have gotten away with it if it wasn’t for you meddling kids.”

  • Jack

    Huh?

  • Halou

    George Soros?
    How very Russian of them.

  • ETownCanuck

If he funded even half of the things the accuse him of, he’d be penniless. And…he is 87 years old for fucks sake, who are they gonna blame when he’s not around anymore?

    • Guess?

      Clinton. Obama. The Gays.

    • Halou

George Soros owes me for at least three years of spreading “Russophobic propaganda”.

    • Reality.Bites

That could depend on his will, I guess. I have no idea about his personal life, but if he leaves it all to a relative or group of relatives, they’ll have a new scapegoat.

If he uses it to endow any kind of charity or other public-good-minded endeavour, that will be the target.

I don’t know how much he has, but I’d leave it in the form of bribes to successful Republican media types to sell out all their supposed beliefs and leave the public stage.

Can you imagine how little of his fortune it would take to buy off most of them?

  • Skeptical_Inquirer

People keep pushing us to reason with them but you can’t reason with someone who blames their imaginary enemy for every damn thing. They are worse than toddlers because toddlers can still grow the hell up.

    • Gretchen

Even toddlers know it wasn’t REALLY the dog that ate all the cookies.

    • Gianni

Reasoning with them is like talking to a drunk man. You will get absolutely nowhere.

  • Skeptical_Inquirer

I don’t know much about Soros but I wonder if it bums him out to be blamed for every fart and rash any GOPer comes down with.

  • Jean-Marc in Canada
  • Pollos Hermanos
  • ClevelandJim

Hilarious, considering Greitens just flipped from Dem to Rep in, what, 2016 so he could run for governor?

  • Kevin Andrews

Just like any 3 year-olds; it is always someone else who caused the Cretins demise.
The mask of these Fascist Zionist bastards is torn off and Americans are seeing the Fascist bastard’s for the scum of the Earth that they aspire to be.
How very appropriately this Republican represents his party and the “very fine people on both sides.”

  • ColdCountry

No, pet. It’s not the fault of Soros. It’s not the fault of the Democratic party. It’s neither Hillary’s nor Obama’s fault. It is the fault of the fucking asshole governor.

  • stanhope

Oh miss governor to receive the honorary title of Bubba’s Bitch….hole, at least to start, worth a carton of Winstons…with Vanity’s would you think i’m a nasty girl playing over the prison PA. The wife is beyond an idiot.

  • JCF
  • I swear these folks are batshit-effen-crazy!

At the Scottsdale City Council meeting on Tuesday, some wingnut got up to complain that all of the ride-share bicycles all over Old Town are a George Soros conspiracy.

Instinctively & involuntarily, I loudly scoffed. Was afraid that I was going to get booted. lol

    • LesbianTippingHabits

He’s actually quite correct. George Soros controls everything, everywhere.

In fact, George Soros even sabotaged Hillary’s campaign so Trump could win in the Electoral College, despite losing the popular vote.

The real question is, what are real Americans (of all demographic categories) going to do about it?

Answer: Ride a bike! Thanks to George Soros.

  • rednekokie

I knew I liked George Soros for something!!!

  • boobert

A moron got elected president for never accepting blame for anything. Of course the party will follow that lead .

  • J Ascher

Missouri GOP: so much for your personal responsibility mantra. You’re always blaming someone else for your failures.

  • Ann Kah

Oh, that George! What a busy little bee Soros must be, to be responsible for absolutely everything the GOP doesn’t like.

  • wds

H**l, Soros must have more money that anyone EVER … all these things he’s paying for … ROFLMAO … of course, I’m still waiting for my protester check – but I’m sure it’s just lost in the mail … right?
