InfoWars Channel Gets “Strike One” From YouTube

From the Hollywood Reporter:

A YouTube channel run by far right news website InfoWars has received a strike against it after posting a conspiracy theory video about the survivors of the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, a source has confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter.

This week, the Alex Jones Channel on YouTube posted a video about David Hogg, one of the most outspoken survivors of the shooting, indicating that he was a crisis actor. As CNN first reported, the video, “David Hogg can’t Remember His Lines In TV Interview,” was removed and the channel, which has 2.2 million subscribers and over a billion lifetime views, was given a strike. YouTube doles out strikes to channels that violate its policies. Channels that receive three strikes in three months are shut down.

Earlier this week, the Google-owned video platform spoke out against a similar video calling Hogg a crisis actor that had appeared at the top of its Trending page. In a statement, a YouTube spokeswoman said the video has removed from the site “for violating our policies.” Many people criticized the site for not catching the video before it became the No. 1 video on the Trending page.

  • Some things are too vile to be given 2nd and 3rd chances. Info Wars is one of them.

    • Bad Tom

Nor do I think strikes like these should expire after three months. If you commit felony crimes in a three strikes state, they never go away.

      • David L. Caster

Part of the problem with these lightly moderated sites is that they depend on other users to flag and thus bring to the attention of moderators any non-conforming content. Because this is a critical part of the mechanism, it can and often is misused and abused by those that have a different political or social view of the world. The strike mechanism acts like a filter, generally dampening wild oscillations and (active or passive) troll-flagging. I really believe that some strikes should be sticky though, and there ought to be gradations of offences to determine what bad behavior will get someone banned.

        • Bad Tom

          Very good observation and suggestion.

      • eddiebeskeddie

well…. yes and no. It’s not completely accurate. For example: let’s say you have orange skin and you previously grabbed ’em by the pussy, then a few years later the goo lawrd touches your noodle with forgiveness, shouldn’t you be able to start your wicked ways all over again?

        • wds

Nope – forgiveness requires repentance and repentance requires a “turning away from” – so no, it’s not a free pass. Unlike how many of the Talibangelicals would like to think … and considering the “dark and evil acts” they hid amongst themselves a good slap across the back of the head with repentance would do … H**l, I’d settle for just a big slap across the backs of their heads … LOL

          • Eddie Besketti

Pretty much my point. Otherwise its just bla bla bla and for show.

    • Bambino

Like the social media, youtube will drag its feed for losing a few million viewers count.

    • narutomania

Due to its very long record of disseminating lunacy and blatant lies, I concur with you completely.

  • Galvestonian

YANK this friggin’ bastard – ban him from the air permanently.

    • Christopher

I second banning this man from oxygen permanently!

  • Henry Auvil

So wait. George Soros owns Google now?!

    • Jean-Marc in Canada

Don’t laugh, it’s probably already in the talking point pipe for Faux News and Fucker Carlson.

      • musiclover703

The talking point pipe for Fox News? I’ve never heard of the lower intestine referred to in that way. I like it!

  • boobert

    Strike one ? Sure, Jan.

  • worstcultever

I’d like to see his sick face struck from JMG.

  • margaretpoa

Youtube comments section is a friggin cesspool.

    • safari

They really should just disable them entirely to improve the viewing experience.

      • margaretpoa

Either that or engage in some real monitoring. But hey, why pay people when you can just let users vomit up whatever ugliness, hatreds and bigotries suit them?

        • (((GC)))

The cesspools arouse strong emotions in enough people… so YouTube gets more viewers and more ad revenue.

          • Xiao Ai: The Social Gadfly

So much for “Do no evil.”

          • (((GC)))

Google long ago abandoned “Don’t be evil.” I remember stories of them cooperating with governments’ demands for censorship.

        • Bambino

They hire the same experts who monitored Twitter which is none existence.

      • Dramphooey

I don’t even look at them.

    • Bad Tom

Even if youtube did plain ugly keyword bans, it would improve the site. They make no effort at all

  • Jean-Marc in Canada

Really? This is only his first strike? WTF YouTube?!?

    • Lazycrockett

The dude who showed the hanging dead body still has his channel.

      • margaretpoa

        Just damn!

      • Oscarlating Wildely

Yes, but he apologized– and then did more childish and vile shit. Plus, he’s cute.

Both of them should have been booted. In a civilized country, they would have been. We are not a civilized country.

      • Nychta

Was that the vlogger who found a body in the so-called “suicide forest” in Japan?

        • Lazycrockett

          Yep.

          • Nychta

      • Jean-Marc in Canada

        Point taken.

    • MonochromeMouse

The strike count resets every 3 months, it’s a weird policy and it’s likely made that way on purpose so they can say they are doing something while allowing problematic creators to keep using their platform. Controversy = clicks.

Exactly. How they don’t have 3 strikes already is beyond me. Alex Jones is a fuckhead of the highest order

      • timncguy

because their “strikes” expire every three months. It makes no sense. After 2 strikes, you just have to behave for 3 months and then start over being an asshole again

    • Yes, not to mention participating in “Pizzagate”. There are many others. They were past three strikes a LONG time ago.

  • Cuberly Deux

Mental Wards got a first strike?

    A first? Just the one?

  • tim870

It’s scary to think that 2.2 million people are that willing to admit what sick fucks they are. And be proud of it.

    • Dramphooey

Some think he’s funny but he isn’t so funny with fascism on the doorstep. All of those people are pseudonyms. Quite a few are bots and sock puppets.

      • I’ll admit that from time to time when I’m home sick I will binge watch youtube conspiracy theory videos. Flat earthers are a personal fave. I actually created a separate youtube login for when I look at that crap because it was clogging up my recommended videos with stupid shit although nothing remotely Alex Jones related.

  • Blake J Butler

So i just took the MAT test this afternoon.

    I made a 379.

    • Lars Littlefield

Why the MAT rather than the GMAT?

      • Blake J Butler

My masters program asked for my major that l take the MAT or the GRE no option for the GMAT.

    • Dazzer

      What’s a MAT test?

      • Miller Analogies Test.

Some programs will take it in lieu of the GRE. Others prefer it.

      • Blake J Butler

Millers Analogy Test, it is the an entry exam an option of several that is required to get into graduate school. I took the MAT test because i thought it would be easier.

The scoring is based on 0-600 with 600 being the max, however though most applicants only get to around 400, for anyone to get over 400, either they are lucky or extremely smart at MENSA level.

So i did very good enough of a score to likely get accepted into graduate school this fall.

        • Dazzer

          Many congratulations. Well done 🙂

I don’t think we have anything like that over here, so it’s fascinating to see how things are done in the rest of the world. And as grad schools are the best (or at least in the top 3) in the world it’s something I probably should have known about.

          Well done again.

        • Bad Tom

Cool! Good luck in grad school.
          What will you be studying?

          • Blake J Butler

            Social Work.

        • Lars Littlefield

Congrats. I thought a score of 400 was the median, but I’m from a different century. I got a 1320 on the GRE back in 1978. Then when I was accepted to grad school I discovered no one in admissions really cared.

        • Reality.Bites

I’d have preferred you’d answered using analogies.

          But congratulations

Here’s a link to some practice tests.

(Edit: there’s a fee for the tests I discovered afterwards)

          https://tpc-etesting.com/matopt/Default.aspx

          • zhera

I tried a test that was free. I don’t have the link anymore but it was one of the first to pop up on Google.
It was a short version test, only 15 questions. I got 10 right. As I’m not a native English speaker I’m not sure if I did good or not.

          • Blake J Butler

I’m happy with my score, the average is where most applicants end up, and that’s what I want to keep.

  • James

Well, Google, which owns YouTube, was also a major sponsor of CPAC, along with the NRA. So.

    • Bad Tom

      That’s a problem right there.

  • Jones repeatedly uses youtube to slander the victims of violent crimes and their families claiming they are paid actors. Youtube should have banned him by now. this has happened multiple times and Jones shows no sign of stopping. In fact plenty of websites, web servers and “mainstream” outlets have aided and abetted him for profit. They all should be named in upcoming slander suits.

  • Henry Auvil

This is like Deep State plus George Soros with Liberal meanness slathered all over it. Snowflakes are melting all over.

    • I wish Soros had the power that the right thinks he does. Liberals might not be such a goddamn clusterfuck if he did.

  • Friday’s_cat

Business ventures are rapidly finding out the consequences of getting in bed with Jones, the NRA, and republicans in general. Corporate America hires and pays good money to marketing annalists to foresee trends that affect their business.
The entities dropping the NRA, Youtube going after Jones isn’t being done out of the goodness of some CEO’s heart, they see the writing on the wall.

    • worstcultever

Indeed I think they sense a sea-change. But it still boggles my mind that Jones ever got away with Sandy Hook. Bastard should have been shunned/shut down to oblivion for that pure evil. (And his cultists are STILL threatening the bereaved from SH!)

  • The core of the new-new Manafort indictments today:
    https://twitter.com/RWPUSA/status/967192592613076993

These are violations of any number of statutes, including the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, which makes it illegal to bribe foreign persons for the purpose of eliciting their influence or changing their policy positions.

Prosecutors say Manafort orchestrated a group of former European politicians, called the “Hapsburg group,” to pose as independent voices. Yet they covertly pushed positions favorable to Ukraine as paid lobbyists. Manafort used offshore accounts to pay the former politicians 2 million euros.

Manafort also allegedly used $4 million from an offshore account to fund a report on the trial of a political opponent jailed by his clients. A lawyer involved in the report — Alex van der Zwaan — pleaded guilty to lying to investigators earlier this week.

The new charges, which sweep up some information Gates has conceded to investigators and other information in charges filed Thursday in Virginia federal court, include money laundering, foreign lobbying violations and making false statements.

What makes this especially hinky from a legal standpoint is these foreign politicians were asked (and paid, obviously) to lobby the United States, as well as other nations.

    • Karl Dubhe

Where did he get the money to pay those bribes? I suppose that’s the next installment of the show, eh?

      • Yes indeedy. There is almost no question that cash came from laundered Russkie rubles.

        • clay

Or all those dubious figures paying $20 million for a $5 million dollar loft?

          • More than a few experts have said that money laundering is the genesis and core of this entire criminal conspiracy.

          • D. J.

I wish the IRS would get with it and investigate “religious” affiliated groups. We know quite a few that have held meetings in Russia and refuse to disclose their finances. They have a lot of cash being thrown around and should not be above the law.

          • Strepsi

Plus, much as I love the Green Party, I do NOT love the U.S. version and hope Jill Stein also gets served.

    • Bambino

I know they have to reach out to the other side to have to start a conversation. I do have a contention with these kids giving credit to Marco Rubio where it’s not warranted. He is an elected official who represents the constituents of Florida. That is his duty to show up. Just because his colleagues are all cowards and hiding does not meant he was brave. He has done nothing yet but words of promises to have any impact on any changes. There are no fine people on both sides on this issue. A convicted murderer has to listen to the victim’s families impact statements that is that. The GOP who ignore the safety of their citizens by accepting bribe from a terror cell are complicit on the murder of these children.

      • greenmanTN

I agree with you. They gave him far more respect than he deserves.

When he said “the NRA donates to me because they agree with my agenda” that was straight up bullshit. The NRA gives hundreds of thousands of dollars to him so he will parrot their party line, no more, no less, and he does it like a champ.

I really hope that after that performance Little Marco is toast.

A complete aside, but am I the only one who notices Marco Rubio’s ears are HUGE? I bet he picks up satellite signals with those things, and I say that as someone whose ears aren’t small!

When the Romans discovered grits, they mixed them with creosote and made roads. True story dat 🙂

          • greenmanTN

I’m withholding judgement on that. I’m not sure you didn’t just make that up, yet it sounds possible!

          • zhera

Oh, we have our deplorables here, as well. So I know what you mean.

What is grit, though? I’ve never quite understood that. Is it a grain?

          • greenmanTN

I’m not an expert but I think grits are ground corn that has been treated with an alkali, such as lye. (Don’t ask me how someone came up with that idea.) Its cooked in water (I always use stock) until it becomes a porridge. It is much maligned (and you know who you are!) but in the right hands can be very good. I make a really good baked goat cheese grits with bacon and spinach and a Cuban style picaddillo dish that looks just like a cheesecake but is in a savory grits crust. I might be a goof but I know my way around a kitchen.

Hey, I tried smoked creamed herring in Norway so the least you could do is try grits! 😁

          • zhera

            Sure, I’d try it!

          • greenmanTN

It’s actually a very neutral thing, how it tastes depends on what you put into it.

And I’d happily make it for you, but I’d interrogate you about it afterward. “Did you like it? Huh? Huh? Isn’t it good? Told you so! It’s good, right? Didnt I tell you so?”

At which point you might start to appreciate why Americans think guns are necessary.

“High-Strung” sounds so negative. I prefer differently strung. 😁

          • zhera

            Lol

I’ll never force you to try lutefisk. Because I’m nice like that.

          • greenmanTN

I’d happily try lutefisk, but I can’t promise I would like it.

Many years ago I was in a Japanese restaurant in Houston and I was having language difficulties with the waitress. I ordered a spicy tuna roll and got a small plate of deep fried shrimp heads lightly dusted with corn meal. At that point I had two choices, to try to explain that isn’t what I wanted (and I was already feeling like a stupid hick) or just eat the damn things.

I figured “well, I guess they eat these somewhere” and ate them. I’m still not completely convinced it wasn’t a prank by the waitress and the kitchen staff, but I ate them. They were very shrimp-y tasting and the scales get caught in your teeth like popcorn kernels. But I ate them.

So lutefisk ought to be a breeze! 😁

Three strikes in three months is a bullshit standard when you’re dealing with people like Alex Jones. How about ONE STRIKE and they can appeal if they don’t agree.

More like maybe if this is what it takes to get a ‘strike’ they really haven’t been paying attention.

One thing about Alex Jones … for all his bluster, he knows when to pull back.

He has been sued dozens of times, and always immediately complies with demands to cease, desist, or issue retractions, in order to avoid paying out even one dollar in damages.

Youtube is his bread and butter … he will keep things cool for three months exactly then jump right back in to full nutcase mode.

It’s 5:02, 34 degrees F, and we’ve just rolled in to Kingman, AZ. Desperately looking for a Starbucks and to stretch our legs. We’ve got another 109 miles before we’re in Vegas. Need to rethink doing these snap decision road trips. I’m feeling every year of my senior citizen age in all of my bones. But it’s amazing what a double cappuccino and a couple of aspirin will do. It’s getting dark. Lots of wind. Aaaiiiiii!

    • SoCalGal20

You’re going to Las Vegas? Have fun!!!

      • Lars Littlefield

Yup. But only because to see Diana Ross’ last performance at the Wynn tomorrow night and celebrate a friend’s 70th birthday. I figure this little impromptu romp is going to put at least a $1,500 dent in me AmEx and there won’t even be any beach!

      • Lars Littlefield

Peach Springs was nice. We took old Route 66 (what’s left of it) instead of I-40. We should have taken the east/west Highway 89 ower to St. George and then down into Vegas, but there’s too much road work. Our butts are sore!

  • Ninja0980

Just watched Hardball and I’ll be blunt.
John Delaney (who wants to run for President) was not impressive at all, likely due to the fact that if not for the fact his district was gerrymandered to ensure he would win, he wouldn’t be in office at all.
Democrat or Republican, if you can’t win office without having a district gerrymandered for you, you don’t deserve to be in office at all.

    • SoCalGal20

I don’t even know who he is.

      • Ninja0980

He represents Maryland’s District 6, which is the subject (and rightfully so) of a lawsuit.
Democrats got clobbered (as you know) in 2010 but we did win in IL and MD.
And then proceeded to do what Republicans in other places did and gerrymandered the hell out of the districts to ensure maximum control.
District 6 used to be represented by Roscoe Bartlett, whom was a bigoted sexist pig whom we would normally celebrate getting the boot from Congress.
But when it requires cutting up his district to make it impossible for any Republican to win, nope.
The fact he almost lost in 2014 to Fox News/NRA nutjob Dan Bangino and won only because of the gerrymandered district is another reason he shouldn’t be the nominee.
As I said in the previous post, if you can’t win without a gerrymandered district, you aren’t ready for prime time.

        • Kruhn

Yeah. It’s been a problem since the turn of the 21st Century. Maryland’s Democrats have gerrymandered the congressional districts by stretching the requirement in the state constitution that the districts be compact and contiguous. So right now Republicans only have the Maryland 1st District, represented by the vile Andy Harris, a doctor who hates Obamacare, but loves overruling DC’s very conservative (as in very careful, almost timid due to Home Rule) Marihuana Decriminalization Law because he knows better.

I love calling my own district, the Second, the tuning fork. It runs from the Aberdeen Proving Grounds gets to the Baltimore Beltway splits in two, one prong going around Baltimore into the northern suburbs ending in a place called Owings Mills and part of another suburb called Pikesville and the other goes south into the southeastern suburbs, crosses the Baltimore Key Bridge into the part of Baltimore where I live, continuing down to Fort Meade and NSA headquarters ending near the DC Beltway. If the Maryland districts weren’t gerrymandered, there would probably be two/three Republicans in the eight member Maryland congressional delegation.

It was on a heavyweight political programme.

The “serious” media should have exposed him and ALL the liars and extremists in the right’s propaganda machine for WHAT THEY ARE long ago, YES, using all the readily available facts, facts many COMEDIANS–like Jon Stewart–have NEVER had any trouble accessing, to do so!

Their failure to do so is an ABDICATION of their journalistic DUTY, to the TRUTH and to genuine DEMOCRACY. They stood by and did NOTHING when that MONSTER told his followers to HOUND the parents of the kids butchered at Sandy Hook into silence, told them to SCREAM at the parents it was all a HOAX. And that’s only ONE of the MANY crimes–sins of omission, if you will–that the “serious” media are guilty of!

They pretend they’re being “impartial” and “unbiased” when they refuse to defend the TRUTH, but refusing to defend the truth, suppressing the truth, refusing to report the TRUTH, is a PROFOUNDLY biased act, and the worst crime, along with exposing a source to danger, that a journalist can commit: to cover up for LIARS by not reporting the FACTS, to stand idle and refuse to defend the innocent from SLANDERERS when you know and can PROVE that’s what’s going on, is to aid and abet EVIL.

From a link at MSDStrong. Ms Haneski is the librarian at the school who hid 50 students in a storage room. :
“But if you ask Haneski, it’s gun laws that deserve scrutiny. Laws
that mean a 19-year-old boy was able to get his hands on an assault
rifle. Because despite the deaths of 20 first-graders six years ago in
      Sandy Hook, little has changed.

“People said to me: ‘What an incredible coincidence that you have
such a close friend who could have the same experience’. I feel angry
that anyone had to experience that horror,” she told Reuters.

“We did everything we were trained to do. And still this happened. And still 17 didn’t go home after school.””

Remember that the electoral process is NOT secure, and Trump and the GOP are REFUSING to do anything to MAKE it secure! They are refusing to take action against a hostile foreign power which has already interfered in our elections, in 2016, and which is preparing to do so AGAIN this year! The people and the Democratic party should be DEMANDING action to make the elections SECURE, and the media should be reporting relentlessly on the FACT it is NOT secure and that the GOP and the Trump regime are refusing to ensure its security!

          • billbear1961

T, a government which subverts the rule of law–one which refuses to act when presented with clear evidence of criminality by its officials–has no legitimate authority–can have no legitimate authority! By subverting the rule of law, it undermines the very SOURCE–the very foundation–of its legitimacy, and FORFEITS its authority to govern!

If the GOP refuses to act against the Defiler, if they aid and abet him and his henchmen in their efforts to place themselves ABOVE the law, the public and the opposition party–and any Republicans who remain loyal to genuine democracy–must RISE to the Republic’s defense and DEPOSE from office all who violate their oath of allegiance to the Constitution!

A government which is violating the rule of law must be forced to relinquish power by a people and an opposition party which REFUSE to obey it! The people must take to the streets in massive and relentless peaceful protests, and the opposition party must refuse to cooperate with a government which is rebelling against the Constitution–they would have to disrupt–they would have to PARALYZE–the functions of government with their protests! Economic measures, such as a general strike, would be necessary to bring economic activity to a virtual standstill!

Anyone who cooperates with a government which is violating the rule of law aids and abets that illegitimate government in its act of SUBVERSION.

GANGSTER government is not STABLE government!

All due respect, while most of the shooters in these cases have been men, I know someone who worked at a school (University of Huntsville Alabama) where the shooter was a woman and if her gun hadn’t jammed, every person in that room would have been shot and the final toll wouldn’t have been 3 dead, 3 injured.
And when you mention your first school shooting memory involved a mentally ill woman who was allowed to get a gun and ended up shooting a bunch of kids, this argument isn’t really the best one.
Yes, most of the shooters ARE going to be male.
But in the rare cases it’s a woman, they will likely be able to do much more damage due to this attitude alone.
    End rant.

    • Treant

OK, so what? The women of the world band together and kill 3.5 billion men? That’ll stop the killing without…oh. Wait a second.

OK…so we socialize all male children with… Uh, what are we going to socialize them with? And are we going to force the parents to do so…how?

Maybe if they don’t, there’s a…location…we could send them to and…um, gather them together..so they can be taught how to socialize children. We could even call them “camps,” because that’s not going to be a violation of half a dozen Amendments and the Constitutional core.

OK, so we take the children and…oh, sorry, same problem.

It’s fortunate that the anti-man contingent is small and rare, and will remain so. So far, none of the ideas I’ve heard have been well thought-out and, frankly, requires a very different solution.

A robust mental health care infrastructure would help! Along with assured single-payer insurance to make certain that nobody who requires physical or mental care is denied it; that gets rid of the Walter White Syndrome as well.

Hard? Absolutely. It’s so much easier to point your finger at a gender (most of whom wouldn’t dream of doing this kind of thing). But thanks for that, Mr. Ali, you’ve just told me you have no ideas.

Missing CDC employee left work sick 10 days ago, hasn’t been seen since, police say
    https://www.yahoo.com/gma/missing-cdc-employee-left-sick-10-days-ago-221436037–abc-news-topstories.html

Police are asking the public for help finding a missing Centers for Disease Control and Prevention employee who went home sick 10 days ago and hasn’t been seen or heard from since.

Timothy Cunningham, 35, went to work on Feb. 12 and left sick, the Atlanta Police Department said. Cunningham, who studied at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, is a commander in the Public Health Service and has been sent to respond to public health emergencies including the Ebola virus and the Zika virus, according to the CDC.

    • Treant

Poor fellow. He’s old for an onset episode of a mental disease but…he might be a victim of one. And sometimes people just want to disappear, and that’s perfectly legal and OK, too!

(I was thinking that as I wrote the above, but, fortunately, most of that stuff isn’t terribly infectious to Americans or already exists in the United States already and won’t easily spread to other areas).

A big jug of measles juice would cut a swath across the country. Start at the Atlanta airport and it’s gone all around the world in 24 hours.

          • Treant

Except for the fact that I’m a German measles carrier (Rubella, no huge damage except to non-immunized pregnant women), isn’t measles pretty survivable in First-World countries? Not to mention that anybody who’s up to date on their MMR would be immune.

          • William

The US is the perfect breeding ground for a measles outbreak. So many anti-vaxxers have refused to vaccinate their children. A few years ago, one kid with measles went to Disneyland. That spread across the west coast. I don’t know how long the MMR vaccine lasts without a booster. When my nephew’s wife turned up with measles, I was warned to be on the lookout for symptoms because it had been at least 20 years since my last booster. I didn’t get it.

          • Treant

Honestly, I have no clue. I had my teenager update, but that should still lend some minor resistance. Smallpox would worry me; you can get it every ten years or so (Queen Elizabeth I had it three times), but each attack is more minor.

      JAYZUS!!!!

“We elected Mike Steele as chairman because he was a black guy, that
was the wrong thing to do,” Walters told hundreds of conservatives
during the conference’s Ronald Reagan dinner as guests at tables gasped in shock.

Michael Steele was near the back of the room, and addressed Walters’ remarks.

“I wanted to talk to [CPAC chair] Matt Schlapp first, but I think
it’s painfully stupid what he said,” Steele told Observer. “If he feels
that way I’d like him to come say that to my face. And then I’d like him
to look at my record and see what I did. I can’t believe an official of
CPAC would go onstage in front of an audience and say something like
that. I’ve been a strong supporter of CPAC for many years and I thought
they raised them better than that here.”

      • jmax

Conservatives don’t care about his record or what he’s done. He says the speaker was stupid to say what he said, but if Steele is too stupid to realize that right-wing extremists will always hate him for his skin color, he deserves all the shit he gets.

    WTF? Was this covered today?
Harvard-westlake high school was put into shut down today and a former Miami Dolphins offensive lineman it was taken into custody after posting this image on Instagram…. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/9714c42104f9f21dece441cd1dbe651978a9eeb79bdb89d4676713bb07b47849.jpg

    • Treant

First I’m hearing about it, so thanks. Is there a link to the full story I’m missing? I’d like to read more (and am currently too lazy to Google and about to make some soap).

      • gaycuckhubby

        https://nypost.com/2018/02/23/bullied-nfl-lineman-posts-shotgun-photo-forces-high-school-to-close/?utm_source=twitter_sitebuttons&utm_medium=site%20buttons&utm_campaign=site%20buttons

He needs to have his guns removed ASAP. He is obviously not mentally okay and has admitted to previous suicide attempts. How much you want to bet the cop let him keep his guns?
BTW… the school did not lock down, they closed for the entire day.

        • Treant

The connection actually seems really opaque here, and I can (if I look at this just by turning a bit to one side) see this as a very mocking and sad social commentary on how people think, not on what he’s suggesting they do. In fact, that was my first-blush opinion.

You’re getting this as a survivor of intense bullying over a period of many years who has had pretty much this thought at times, so my reading is quite likely to be extremely jaded. I’m sure you’ve noticed that if you take a bullying attitude with me, I go for the nads and will happily rip off testicles or out ovaries without a single thought–and FO if you don’t like it 🙂 That’s the remaining symptom and you outta see me as the third party. I’m worse.

So my glass here is definitely focused differently.

          • gaycuckhubby

I get that, but I think a few people have thought that about previous shooters. that they were just victims of bullying who were striking out on social media, and would never do anything about it.

If you don’t realize in this day in age that you can’t put photographs of guns on your Instagram and tag the name of the high school that you used to go to and the names of two people who bullied you then you don’t deserve to have guns.
This was a pretty specific threat, IMHO.
It was meant to strike fear and to terrorize

          • Treant

Eh, if they were current students? Absolutely.

But somebody who did it in the past, and naming the school you went to? That’s going to fall easily under free speech; there’s no call for shootings. There’s no statement that they’re even a good idea. This is an anti-bullying statement through and through.

And honestly, it does tend to be the oddballs, outcasts, and throwaways who end up doing this. While “Everybody Run….The Homecoming Queen’s Got A Gun” was funny from Julie Brown, it rarely happens.

While I certainly had no access to firearms (nor would have used them), it’s still probably good that my access to anything stronger than Ex-Lax was limited. Suffice to say that there’s a reason I’m an ice cold bastard when insulted.

          • gaycuckhubby

And a good reason to Restrict guns in general. But all I’ve heard over the last couple days is how derelict the police in Florida were with the shooter
. And to me, if I was a parent of a student at this school I would be demanding that his guns be removed and he be charged with terroristic threats.

          • Treant

Mebbe, but it won’t happen. There’s definitely a First Amendment issue going on here and, since he made no direct threat, there won’t be any charges. Nor do I think there should be.

Was it insensitive? Yep. Is that called for here? Well…yes, actually. Insensitivity isn’t a reason to prosecute.

Personally, I see the whole “Florida police” thing as just a red herring. If there had been no shooting, the “Florida police” could have been sodomizing each other with donuts for all I care. There was a shooting because a kid legally bought an assault rifle. I won’t take my eyes off the prize–ban the damned things, even if we have to rewrite the Second and toss some states out to do it.

          • gaycuckhubby

I agree with you about the florida situation.
I think the problem is the guns.
But the narrative here and Nationwide is that the FBI helped cause this by not following up on the social media comments.

But I’m with you, I don’t know of anything that he said online that was prosecutable.

          • Treant

I cannot possibly see how the FBI could ever follow up on every possible tip they get anyway. Particularly not with the force being reduced by simple attrition and pressure from Trump.

Even at full strength? An entire nation of people, some of whom misspeak or say something in the heat of the moment? No.

Now mind you, it’s probably good that nobody I know and dislike has ever been murdered because I’m going to tell the truth. “Couldn’t stand him. I’m glad he’s dead. But I didn’t do it.”

I’d be suspect #1 even though I’d be completely innocent.

          • gaycuckhubby

And somebody said “I want to be a professional school shooter” on a YouTube comment. I wonder how many thousands of people say the same thing everyday?. The issue has to be guns!

          • gaycuckhubby

            LOL…
I just realized I kind of talked myself out of the position I took at the beginning of this thread. I’m still okay with them taking weapons away from him simply because of his idiocy.

          • Treant

Well, it is. Without guns, that statement is immaterial. “I want to be a professional person who pokes people with toothpicks” isn’t exactly a major threat. 🙂

While clear-cut, exactly how are they supposed to filter that out of the thousands (tens of thousands? I have no clue) of “threats” they receive each day that amount to, “Sylvia insulted Our Cousin Sharon.”

    JOY!!!!

  • Cuberly Deux

Can we swap Joy & Lawrence? She’s so much better.

    Sorry, not a Lawrence fan.

    • joe ho

      Lawrence is relentless against Trump.

Joy should be replacing Matthews who’s just barely a Democrat.

      • greenmanTN

Chris Matthews drives me nuts. He talks over all his guests, won’t shut up about the Kennedys, and his laugh sounds like a seal hoping to get a herring as a treat.

        • sadoldguy

Watching Chris Matthews is annoying (for same reasons), but I heard an interview he did with Terry Gross a few years ago and he was intelligent and insightful.
I don’t get why he needs to come off as such a jerk when it seems he could run a much more productive show.
Is it all about creating chaos?

        • boobert

Lately he’s even worse by constantly plugging his stupid book.

      • JCF

I have a soft spot for Chris Matthews, because my elderly dad likes him so much. Chris Hayes, though, just bores me to tears. He’s a smart guy, and his heart is generally in the right place—except for the Bernie-Love! }-p —but he’s just soooooo boring!

    • Hank

Joy is indeed Great! However, Lawrence is a REAL intellectual, and puts things out in ways, that no one else I know does in the news!!

    • William

Sometimes Lawrence sounds like he should be the leader of a Doomsday cult. I try to overlook that because he’s one of the smartest men on tv.

      • Cuberly Deux

Wow, that actually hit right at what bothers me about him. Whenever I watch him it comes across like he’s the drunk boozy guy at the end of the bar saying….it’s the end of the world!

Maybe I should give him another chance. Back when he was on the McLaughin Group he wasn’t quite so volatile.

    • Treant

SQUEEEE! I did see where, frankly, they will cut your ass if you get anywhere near them.

Too bad, if they could be domesticated, they’re adorable.

      • BJORN RAGNVALDR

NO! Respectfully, leave them wild, protect habitat. We have domesticated all the animals we need.

        • Friday

Yeah, that is a cyoot, but so are ‘ordinary’ kitties looking for homes right now. I’m going to go where my kitty pal will probably sleep on my head after a day of stalking like that and if he’s a Mama’s boy, that’s OK. 🙂

        • Treant

Since they’ll cut your ass anyway, I don’t think we have a choice.

And sometimes, domestication is the only way to preserve a species or cultivar. At this point, some of the edible Amaranthus spp. only exist in human gardens. They’re not grown as cash crops (production is a bit too low).

And if a fungus should wipe out corn or rye…and we need them…well, that’s the only way to get ’em back.

(I do grow some, but none of those. Mine are the more-common but still fun Celosia).

    • JCF

“I looks kewt, but I’ll take your face off!” [What Bjorn says, below. Keep the wild, wild. Adopt domesticated!]

  • sadoldguy

    Serious question.

I don’t understand how this low life isn’t getting sued for his disgusting claims. Does someone have to suffer physical harm? Is it a matter of showing intent? At what point does what he’s doing become illegal (civil or criminal)?

Arg, my ‘mouse’ has dust bunnies herpes (lint in the optical encoder), move the mouse and no y axis response.

    • safari

He’s been backed into a corner with lawsuit threats. At the last moment he’ll back off.

      • sadoldguy

What about what he has already said?

        • safari

I’m afraid my details are missing. I just know that there was at least one lawsuit threat and a deadline he needed to meet to back off.

          • sadoldguy

To Natty Enquirer and safari, but once he has said it (whatever crazy theory), isn’t it already said, I don’t get the backing off part. He said it, the damage is done.

          • safari

            This is what I remember:

Although it isn’t clear what motivated Jones to apologize now, fear of legal action may have come into play. Alefantis wrote Jones a letter in February demanding an apology. And even though he doesn’t threaten legal action, under state law Jones had one month to retract or apologize to avoid a lawsuit. The one-month deadline was Friday.

            http://www.slate.com/blogs/the_slatest/2017/03/25/conspiracy_theorist_alex_jones_apologizes_for_spreading_pizzagate_fake_news.html

        • Natty Enquirer

Exactly. Jones’ acquiescences and retractions are calculatedly low-key and forgotten. All that sticks are his fairy-tale shrieks.

    • Treant

I find that a can of air really helps to have around. Plus, when the news gets too bad, you can take a shot and feel better for a few seconds. 🙂

But really. You can make almost any general claim about a group of people you want. If I said that the Republican party got together, shed their human skins, and ate babies once a year, that’s not an issue.

Now if I said Mr. John Doe of 123 Main Street, Anywhere, USA 10000 did that, it would be a problem. Potentially, although the famous have much more limited ability to sue if there’s any evidence, however tenuous, of their lizard personhood or their consumption of infants.

All that said, he does get sued a lot as he walks well over the line. And yet many simply ignore him as a non-entity that only the crazy listen to.

I had a concerning thought – it is pretty risky sending over Ivanka to Korea. If something happened and she was kidnapped we would be in the position where the decision would have to be made by the President to either Not Negotiate with Terrorists or Save his daughter. This is a situation that every President is supposed to avoid as it puts the US in a very compromising position.

The 93Mb was on my cell phone. I have 100Mb wired service in my apartment now and can switch to AT&T 1Gb fiber service. But they want too much and aren’t offering enough to convince me to switch. Pornhub, I mean Netflix, is performing in UHD just fine.

          • I bought one of those 4000 uhd tvs for the bedroom and its a waste. I can’t tell the difference between that and the regular high definition tv in the living room – same size, and the Netflix content at the super high rate looks the same. I think the super duper high definition tvs are a bit of a gimmick unless you want to buy a 70 inch tv or something or have super vision.

          • Drools. This is me and it costs much. I think its the fastest that AT&T (which I have to use because of the master agreement) offers in Palm Beach County in my community –

Well, that sucks… Shitty service with NO lube.

        • Reality.Bites

The US, like Canada, is hampered by vast areas that are sparsely populated.

That’s the real key – population density, not size. My ISP got its start running its own fibre to service businesses in the financial and digital/creative cores of my city. Then they realized there are lots of condos in the same areas, many of which are populated by people who work for the kind of business they serve.

So they’re able to offer 1GB at a pretty reasonable cost in even though their customer base consists of 50-100 condos in the downtown core. The real cost is laying all the fibre.

But my boyfriend’s parents, living in a town 50 miles from here, can only get high speed by satellite. And that high speed is $100 a month for 5.0 Mbps with a 50 GB limit.

          Even in

      • Reality.Bites

The most disgusting thing today was reading how ivanka met with the south korea president to discuss sanctions. If any other president sent a family member with no security clearance to discuss official policy with another nation’s president it would outrage the country, yet this is acceptable . It makes no sense.

    • safari

      Shamelessness.

The same reason Donald thought that saying twice today that both Ivanka and Jared didn’t get paid as if it was some kind of hallmark of selflessness when in reality we all know it is the opposite.

One of my aunts tests off the scale for arsenic. When she was a kid, one of her chores was to sprinkle arsenic (insecticide) on the crops. She looks much younger than her actual age, somewhere over 80.

          • Nychta

Well, arsenic does have some medicinal uses:

“Although arsenic can be poisonous in higher doses, it has also been used in some medicines. In the 1800s and early 1900s, arsenic was commonly used to treat diseases such as syphilis and psoriasis. A form of arsenic is still used to treat an uncommon blood cancer known as acute promyelocytic leukemia.”

          • safari

Strychnine used as a performance enhancer in that period. The “Olympics” in St. Louis — it really shouldn’t be called one — saw its use as a performance enhancer.

          • Nychta

Back when I was a young psychopharmacology enthusiast we got hold of some acid that made us feel sort of speedy. Word was that a wee bit of strychnine had been added to the blotter to give us a rush.

          • I once did 40 hits of Ren and Stimpy blotter by accident in a 24 hour period. I am pretty sure that fried my brain out and had some strychnine in there. I became very interested and fluent in the XML (extensible markup language) family of emerging standards even though I never had a computer class in my life shortly afterwards. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/abf94e1eca00f88f58cce50bce80a29652ba950461fb1f0f8089327b724fabbd.jpg

Some historians are saying that arsenic killed Napoleon Bonaparte. His favorite candy was black licorice (which, back then, actually contained arsenic), and he was known to eat a lot of it.

          • safari

I seem to recall licorice itself can poison you in moderate quantities.

      ———–
Some strategic thinkers are putting this scenario together visa-vi Korea –
      — China and South Korea agree to gradual Korean unification (the key here is gradual) based on Korean “neutrality”. U.S. bases have to get out of Korea, and South Korea agrees to be a key trading partner of China. In effect, they are in a Chinese political orbit-
–Korea unifies with Chinese help. China is able to stop a massive flow of North Korean refugees from crossing into China. Korea demilitarizes and leaves the U.S. orbit.
The Korean people actually have very good feelings towards China — and not historically towards Japan. I have seen this scenario mentioned several times btw. It would serve Chinas and South Korea’s interests, but the key is how to unify without destroying the South Korean economy – and toppling the North Korean regime without a war. it will make German unification look like a cakewalk.

      War weapons aren’t for funsies.

      • I used to fire pistols with my father while he was alive — I enjoyed it — at the local Florida firing range. He was a veteran and was proud of me for being a good shot. He had these trophies, I still have them from winning shooting competitions. When he died, mom and I did not keep any of his guns, we thought about it but did not want them around. . There is nothing wrong with owning guns responsibility — but no one needs a semi automatic killing weapon at home.

    • johncAtl

50,000 students at USF. I wonder how many agree with Marion.

    • Moebym of the Returners

Let’s get rid of laws and regulations on motor vehicles, then. After all, distracted drivers, drunk drivers, carjackers, and criminals on high-speed chases still kill people every day, and these laws aren’t preventing all car-related deaths.

And while we’re at it, we might as well get rid of anti-smoking regs, since they’re preventing smokers from having the freedom to smoke wherever the hell they want, and if people don’t want to be put at risk of exposure to secondhand smoke, they should just get out of the smokers’ way.

That’s how gun humpers sound when they try desperately to defend getting rid of gun regulations. Guns aren’t special, and neither is the 2nd amendment…so get over it!

      • Max_1

I had one of those, but since there was little other remaining connection between us, Unfriend and Block worked wonders there.

      • Treant

Technically, the Second Amendment does limit what Congress may do to guns. It’s simply been perverted over time.

Whereas it would be entirely within the Federal and State mandates to remove any and all motor vehicle laws if they so choose. Or to make them so prohibitive that few to none would be able to have cars.

It’s wiser here to compare it to the erosion of Freedom of Speech or the right’s complete disregard of the Ninth Amendment. When marriage equality went through, they screamed loud and proud that there was no right to it. The Ninth clearly states that this is not the case and that, in fact, non-enumerated rights can and do exist.

We don’t think this is somewhat… oh I don’t know, patronizing? “Oh look, kids, here we are at the symbol for one of the great social struggles of the 20th cent, let’s all dress up as natives” kind of thing? I’m trying to imagine the Indian PMs family going to Canada and dressing up as Mounties.

        • Dazzer

The Indians will probably dress in suits and ties – which aren’t particularly Indian as a form of dress – when they visit Canada.

My take on this is that are a lot of desiCanadians and they’ll appreciate their Prime Minister acknowledging their existence in Canada and also showing veneration for a South Asian hero.

I can’t think of any politician in the UK who has a large south Asian constituency who hasn’t dressed up in Indian gear at some stage.

My uncle was Indian and although I am dead-fish white, he’d insist I dress up in Indian outfits at his side of the family gatherings. As far as he was concerned, it showed respect – and gave the Indians something to laugh at when I tried to dance.

          • Wisterley

Fair enough, but your uncle wasn’t French. To me it smacks of Alec Guinness cast as professor Godbole in A Passage to India and how the movie-makers claimed it as a sign of respect, that such a distinguished actor should be blacking-up to play the story’s moral centre. You understand, it doesn’t keep me awake at night but I rather doubt that a US politician would attempt such a stunt. Can you really still get away with that crap in the UK? Has no one told them yet that the Indian subcontinent is set to become the world’s leading economy by 2050?

    • Treant

I thought the family looked great, actually. But yeah…maybe tone down that assimilation thing if your hosts think you’re being condescending.

Trump: Get a boob job and some make-up honey and come see me at Mar-a-largo. I’ll make you an ambassador.

Me: She still looks more sane and competent in a mug shot than anyone in the Trump administration in a formal portrait.

Hi late-nighters. I assume we are the west coast crew. I was thinking about the never trumpers on twitter and elsewhere and their hand-wringing about what has happened to the GOP. I have sympathy for them because I think they sincerely loved thier party and are generally decent people. But I think there is a heavy dose of denial about how they are complicit in creating the conditions that lead to this nightmare. At some point there most be a reckoning for all of us to heal together. I wrote a two-tweet post if you want to click through.

Not all of you are left coast; eastern seaboard here, and 4:15 AM. They just had a nice lesbian love triangle and murder on ID, so I stayed up to watch it. And to level my shaman to 52. 🙂

Also, “How could I have known?” By paying attention to anything that’s come out of Trump’s mouth–pretty much ever–and also paying attention to where the Republican party has been going since the year 2000. 🙂

      • Proud MOFO Beaner (bkb)

I think they always knew trump was a pig — I’m talking about the likes of Steve Schmitt , Rick Wilson, David Frum, Bill Kristol, Ana Navarro and others who never supported him. But what these people don’t seem to want to acknowledge is that the GOP has been moving in this direction — perhaps inexorably— for decades.

        • Makoto

I often say that Trump is the natural end result of GOTP desires and policies, not an aberration.

Really don’t see Trump-style candidates going away any time soon, either. Some vote due to fear and hate, others remind me of Catholics – sure, they hate all the pedophilia if you push them on it, but they’ve been Catholics for generations, so they still go to mass and tithe. Similar thing here, they may not like the current GOTP crop, but they’ve been pulling the lever for R for generations.

          • I had a history professor once upon a time who gave me a really valuable take on history: he taught it as a process, not as events, with the underlying dictum that history is a series of reactions. The reaction to the activism of the ’60s and ’70s was Ronald Reagan and the rise of the right, which has continued to the present: even though we’ve had Democratic majorities, briefly, since, the dominant force in public discourse has been the right. Add in that America is a middle-class nation, and the middle class doesn’t like it when anyone rocks the boat — it is, when all is said and done, a force for maintaining the status quo. What I’m hoping is that the right, seeing itself on the verge of attaining its “permanent majority” (by whatever means necessary), is overreaching: they aren’t maintaining the status quo, they’re moving really fast, and they’re aiming their appeal at the worst of us — the bigotry, the selfishness, the laziness. People don’t like to see themselves that way. With any luck the pendulum will start to swing back.

          • JCF

“What I’m hoping is that the right, seeing itself on the verge of attaining its “permanent majority””

Au contraire, I see the Drumpfian Right acting out of FEAR—fear that their “majority”, cobbled together as it is w/ Putin and chicanery, is slipping away from them FOREVER. Hence, their obsessive focus on rear-guard actions, most notably, THE COURTS: installing paleo-conservative judges who will keep overturning the coming “onslaught” of progressive legislation, for at least as long as they live (and they’re mostly in the 50s and up).

As much as I fear it, I think they may go after ObamaCare AGAIN this year, for the same reason: even if they’re voted out, they know just how FREAKING hard it was to get ObamaCare passed in the first place. Dems will spin their wheels, but be unable to get past a a Rethug filibuster (don’t expect Dems to do away w/ it!), nevermind Drumpf (or Pence) w/ a veto Sharpie. “Get what we can, NOW” is the Rethug philosophy, “tomorrow, the ‘darker, gayer, different’ deluge.”

          • I think you may be confusing means with ends. Fear is one of their tools: fear of gays, fear of blacks, fear of Muslims, and on down the line. The GOP has become the party of authoritarians, and that’s how they achieve and maintain power.

As for the courts and our other institutions — neutering them is one of the goals. You can’t maintain an oligarchy with functioning checks and balances.

As for doing away with the ACA: that’s part of Obama’s legacy, and Trump and the GOP will continue to try to erase him from history, because a) black, and b) Democrat.

          • Proud MOFO Beaner (bkb)

You both have good points. Thanks for the discussion

          • RoFaWh

            c) he had the effrontery to mock the Glorious Leader when said G.L. was still merely nascent.

          • JCF

I think you can both 1) be afraid, and 2) use fear as a tool. That’s the Drumpfian Rethugs.

Doe packing courts w/ conservaturds enable/reify them, or “neuter” them? I think that’s just semantics. It neuters JUSTICE, while enabling/reifying Rethug (pseudo-) “originalism”.

Getting rid of the ACA isn’t only about Obama—think how they fought to prevent Hillary’s healthcare plan 25 years ago!

          • Re: packing the courts: it neuters them as a check on the executive and legislative branches.

As for Hilary’s health-care plan — how much of the resistance was to health care, and how much was about Hillary Clinton? (Hint: the Republicans hated the Clintons from day one.)

          • Proud MOFO Beaner (bkb)

We will know a lot more on Nov 6 of this year

          • Proud MOFO Beaner (bkb)

Ageee with all of this too. We are stuck with a lot of his stupid policy proposals that appealed to the deplorables. Good thing it will be hard to find someone with his combo or celebrity, “charisma”,buffoonery, and assholism which was a heady potion for the doratd base

        • JCF

Yes, it really shocked me to see how the NeverTrumpers even rejected Drumpf’s Tax Plan as a Tax Scam. [Didn’t Kristol say, re the tax scam, “My God, I’ve become a Democrat!”?]

It’s almost like Drumpf, taking ReTHUGgery to its extreme, has knocked the scales from GOP eyes. “Oh, it’s like we WERE, all along, always racist, and sexist, and militaristic, and robbing from the poor to give to the rich! Golly gee!”

Yeah, there’s a part of me that wants to say “I told you so.” Or more than that (TBH), wants an apology! “Oh liberal Dem JCF, you tried to tell us in the 80s, and 90s, and 00s, and into the 10s, and we not only didn’t listen to you, we told you that YOU were a muddle-headed bleeding heart who was soft on crime, and communism, and were a ‘47% taker’ (we may have even called you a baby-killer). We were wrong, decade after decade, and you were right. We apologize . . . and we’ll always check w YOU, first, to tell us if we’re on the right(eous) path, or back-sliding into Rethuggery! You are the master, we are the students.” Aw, what a lovely little fantasy… ;-/

But since THAT ain’t happening, I’ll settle for a new and CONSISTENT progressivism on their part [I don’t care how they register, as long as they VOTE ‘D’!]

          • Reality.Bites

My version of your fantasy is that I simply get to tell them, “Shut up. You’ve lost your right to speak about politics. You were wrong about every single issue and your party always, without fail, accomplished the exact opposite of your stated intent – you raised deficits, raised unemployment, destabilized the economy and made both the US and the world less safe. You are not just wrong. You are worthless. You have no opinion to offer. Even if you happen to be right on an issue it means nothing – it’s just random chance. You’ve proven yourself to be irredeemably selfish, stupid and, at best, amoral.

          • JCF

“You’ve proven yourself to be irredeemably selfish”

Thing is, I’m all about redemption (as long as the NeverTrumpers check w/ ME first, to keep their “redemptions” on-track! 😉 )

          • Proud MOFO Beaner (bkb)

Respectfully I don’t agree with this. A lot of these people have interesting, smart things to say and and have been the loudest voices in the RESIST movement. I’m thinking Painter, Navarro, Rick Scott, Steve Schmitt. I also like Nicole Wallace. If the resist movement was only liberals and Dems, it’s easier to disregard. [edit RICK WILSON, not Scott. Oh my]

          • Proud MOFO Beaner (bkb)

THIS. These people seem shocked that the GOP is going along with trump’s policy proposals. It’s not just trump the man. That’s why I’m inclined to hold back on knocking on their head and scream “WHERE HAVE U BEEN?!?!?” — at least not now. Thank you JCF

Edit :worth noting that non of these people are actually in Congress

      • It started long before 2000 — all the Southern racist Democrats magically turned Republican in 1964 (Civil Rights Act), and Reagan started a major courtship of the Moral Majority in 1980 (not that the GOP had been ignoring them before that, but that’s when they started actively recruiting).

And yes, some of us in the Midwest are also up at this hour.

        • Dayglo

Yes, this certainly isn’t anything new. Republicans don’t get to complain that the far-right suddenly hijacked their party.

          • They not only invited them in, they handed them the keys.

    • zhera

If the NeverTrumpers are OK with Ryan, McConnell, and the rest of the grifters then they get no sympathy from me. Let’s face it: GOP isn’t a party that cares about the US and its people. THEY are the problem, Donnie Two Scoops is just the icing on the cake.

      • Proud MOFO Beaner (bkb)

They aren’t actually Ok with the GOP Congress and the rest of the GOP rolling over for trump. They are disgusted by it. That’s the whole point of my post

Facebook needs to face charges for allowing their website to be used like that. Chucking their owner into prison for little while would encourage them to police their users a bit more.

Hello? Does anyone here grasp the simple concept of Freedom of Speech? Each and every one of these corporate super-persons shit on the US Constitution with the censorship they ham-handedly inflict. Each and everyone of these corporate super-persons defile the graves in Arlington National Cemetery as do you by accepting what these vile Fascist Zionist bastards inflict at their whim in censorship and fraud.
I’m NOT defending Infowars or the Zionist Meat-puppet because I find it abhorrent. I’m defending First Amendment Rights to free speech that are under attack since “political correctness” became the Fascist Zionist bastards tool.

    • DumbHairyApe

Freedom of speech doesn’t mean you’re free to say whatever your want and wherever you want without consequences. JoeMyGod, for instance, can set its own policies about what speech they will allow on it and Joe can, and does, remove posts that violate those policies.
People seem to think that “Freedom one Speech” allows them to say whatever they want, wherever they want, and however they want. It doesn’t. What it REALLY means is that you’re free to speak against your government and the GOVERNMENT cannot censure your political speech. Private entities can do so in their own venues.
YouTube can set their policies. If you don’t like them, you don’t have to use their private venue.

      • SinfulJosh

He can say whatever he wants…
He cant use other peoples platforms to do so unfettered.

      • Kevin Andrews

Fascist much? Of course your narrow view is endorsed by mindless Sheeple existing as indoctrinated drones to their Corporate Super-person Fascist Masters.
Free speech does have consequences. At my tender age and in my retirement I accept that truth is not PC with joy and Glee.

    • Andymac3

Sure Kevin, something something fascist Zionist bastards, something something, and repeat.

    • hdtex

      More charming antisemitic bullshit spew.

    • SinfulJosh

The one issue with taking the free speech stance here is that Slimey McGrifter pictured above does not own or have any control over Youtube.

YES he has a right to having adverse reactions to his “supplements” causing him to go on a nearly incoherent tirade projecting both spit and conspiracies at the same time.

NO he does not have the right to use the platform of a private person or company, especially if they object to you doing just that.

      • Kevin Andrews

You (like me) have the right to ignore and shun the rabid howler because of all those American graves in Arlington National Cemetery who gave their lives to protect freedom of speech. Do you grasp that allowing the corporate super-person’s censorship defiles those American heroes?

  • supasugacrisp

    Ha Ha!
