Authorities Respond To Florida Copycat Threats

The New York Daily News reports:

Authorities across the country are responding to “copycat threats” as schools remain on high alert one day after a gunman fatally shot 17 people at a Florida high school. A Broome High School student in South Carolina was arrested after he shared a Snapchat photo of himself holding what appears to be an assault rifle. The caption reads, “Round 2 of Florida tomorrow.”

An airsoft rifle was found during a search of his home and the student, who was charged with disturbing schools, told officials it was only a joke, WSPA reported. Early Thursday morning, police in Ohio similarly detained a Ross High School student after the juvenile made “a post on social media referring to the recent school shooting in Florida,” Ross Township Police Department said in a statement.
