ISRAEL: Netanyahu To Be Indicted For Bribery

Haaretz reports:

Israel Police will recommend indicting Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in two corruption investigations. The two cases are the so-called “Case 1000” – in which Netanyahu is suspected of accepting lavish gifts from wealthy benefactors in return for advancing their interests.

The second investigation, “Case 2000”, alleges that Netanyahu tried to strike a deal that would have provided him with positive coverage in Israel’s second largest newspaper in exchange for hurting its freebie rival, Israel Hayom.

Netanyahu has maintained he did nothing wrong, claiming on numerous occassions that “there will be nothing, because there is nothing.” In the days leading up to the police’s recommendations, Netanyahu has openly questioned the integrity of the police commissioner and other high-ranking officers tasked with the investigations

Cool, Jared’s dad can tell him all about prison.

    • Sean Taylor

Jared’s dad didn’t have the luxury of a Presidential pardon

    • Todd20036

      Maybe it’ll be like Oz!

  • Ninja0980

So how long before he launches an attack on someone?

    • The_Wretched

Too late, he’s already having incursions into Syria this week. They were attacking Iranian forces in Syrian territory. Not that we’re getting much coverage here.

      • boatboy_srq

Didn’t Putin call Bibi and tell him to call those off?

        • The_Wretched

Bibi did them anyway. He doesn’t listen to Putin.

    • Treant

    • billbear1961

American “news” media: “But it’s ALL a vicious anti-Trump conspiracy!!! Trump and Nunes and Fox and the WSJ and so many other right-wingers SAY so!!”

      American “journalists”: “What’s that?”

      • JWC

        sigh wishful thinking

        • billbear1961

The right’s media LIE machine lies outright for this regime, and many in the rest of the MSM just PARROT what they tell them, without looking into and disseminating the FACTS that expose them for the corrupt, democracy-destroying LIARS and FRAUDS they ARE!!

          • JWC

someone has to put a foot down to stop this spinning bed of lies and say ENOUGH Like the guy who stopped McCarthy

      • We hire only the best B.U. and LibertyU. journalism students.

        • billbear1961

If the “serious” media, in spite of their corporate owners, and the Democrats, in spite of their corporate donors, don’t start defending the truth and the rule of law as LOUDLY and aggressively as the right defend and push their LIES, this democracy is SCREWED.

  • Lazycrockett

Maybe they will charge him with genocide while they are at it.

    • Its israel not the Hague.

  • bkmn

And Putin will, for a while, turn all his twitter and FB bots to Israel.

  • William

    Bibi, eat the food.

  • bkmn
    • Max_1

It’s worse… Donald Trump has actually suggested that we entertain the idea of working with Russia to secure cyber warfare. That would be like FDR on December 8th 1941 saying that we’re going to work with Japan to strengthen our air defenses. It could be argued that withholding sanctions would be giving material Aid and support to a country that attacked us. It could be argued Donald Trump has committed an act of treason.

  • marachne

Hahahaha. I hope he gets a lot of jail time. Nasty little man

    • Judas Peckerwood

I hope he dies in prison, alone and forgotten.

      • Todd20036

I have to disagree with you on one point.
If you forget about Bibi’s corruption, you are more likely to repeat it.

  • Tulle Christensen

Pfft, Trump will just try to pardon him 😉

    • The_Wretched

Trump will try anyway. That whole lack of understanding of territoriality again.

  • More moderate leadership would certainly be helpful. Israelis are extremely paranoid — and justifiably so. They will tend to vote for who will keep them the safest so there is no guarantee that Netanyahu’s successor will be any more rational.

    • Ron Robertson

They will vote for who they dream will keep them safest, while ignoring all the things that cause the situation in the first place, or worse, double-down on what causes the problems.

  • Scott Carpenter

What’s this? A conservative politician involved with corruption and bribery? I’m aghast!

  • Gustav2

“In the days leading up to the police’s recommendations, Netanyahu has openly questioned the integrity of the police commissioner and other high-ranking officers tasked with the investigations.”

No American head of state would dream of doing that!

  • billbear1961

We keep HEARING this–fucking INDICT him, already!!

  • BearEyes

    Just bribery?
Will the other charges come later?

  • Generic Commenter

What happens under Israeli law when a sitting Prime Minister is “indicted”?

    • Boreal

      New election I think.

    • pch1013

Presumably the Knesset could hold a vote of no confidence.

Gotta wonder what Israel even sees in this corrupt right-wing nutjob. It’s not like they seem to have a *shortage* of hawkish people there, some of whom actually know what they’re doing that way. Why put up with the rest of the package, even if that’s what they want?

    • Take to long to get everyone to agree to a new hardliner, those damn liberals might sneak an actual human being in.

“Netanyahu has maintained he did nothing wrong, claiming on numerous occassions that “there will be nothing, because there is nothing.”

ben has learned well from the shitgibbon clown who is our fake president.

FAKE NEWS! FAKE NEWS! FAKE NEWS! The police commissioner is in a witch hunt out to get me. You can’t trust the police. Mossad probably put that money into my mattress. Waaaaaaah!!!!

  • Rebecca Gardner

YAY!!! Couldn’t have happened to a better scumbag!
Can we indict Trump next please.

  • pch1013

Checks and balances – wow, what a concept.

  • Miji

“There will be nothing, because there is nothing.” is certainly a more elegant way to deflect than “Fake news! Fake news!” or “No collusion!” blurted out guiltily when no one is even asking that specifically.

  • safari

O/T: Reports of white powder found at Obama’s office. I’d post a link but so far the reports are coming from a Fox local affiliate, The Mirror, and RT. So, I won’t.

    • safari

If we can handle the NY Post (which cites Fox5 DC):

    • Halou

Now compare the coverage of that to the coverage of the ‘white powder’ Don Jr and his wife received.

    • The_Wretched

White powder scares tend to come in clusters. Some copy cat and some the guy making the envelopes can just as easily make 5 as 1.

  • Halou

“Netanyahu has openly questioned the integrity of the police commissioner and other high-ranking officers tasked with the investigations”

Oh, now if that doesn’t seem familiar.

  • Not surprising since he and trump are buddies. The corrupt meets the corrupt. Trump’s only got friends in low places after all.

  • Jerry Hinnant

Israel has their own Trump it seems!

  • dbishop75

oh- say it ain’t so, Joe. actually, it’s funnier af when it is so. ha ha ha ha

        Wait, what???

  • Charlie In SF

Too bad Trump can’t pardon him

    • Jack

But at least trump doesn’t know that.

  • American Patriot

    He’ll probably be acquitted, unfortunately.

  • Canadian Observer

In the interests of American/Israeli cooperation the State Department should inform Tel Aviv that there are vacancies in the secure prison at Guantanamo Bay. Oh wait, America recognizes Jerusalem as Israel’s capital… that should read “should inform Jerusalem…”./s

  • rednekokie

Hmmm — an ideal candidate for the head of the Republican Party.

    Geez,that sounds familiar.

Have you room for one more?

  • Kevin Andrews

Now if the Jews send his miserable Polish murderer off to the Hague to be tried for his war crimes and attack on America I would be happy. Until the murderous bastard is gone, Israel has zero legitimacy.

    • SDG

Really, ZERO? So, what country are YOU from? USA? You elected Trump! Talk about ZERO legitimacy. The only reason he is even IN power, is because of coalition governments, meaning the majority of Israel did not even vote for him.

  • -M-

    Lock him up.

  • Leonard69

Misleading headline: indictment is recommended; it could take months for the public prosecutor to decide whether to do so and he may not.

  • Leonard69

Israel thinks it needs maniacal Likudniks to survive.

    Israel is terribly wrong.

    • SDG

      Not ALL of Israel!

  • Paula

That stupid urban legend about Jews using baby’s blood to make their Passover bread might be true about this guy. /S

  • SDG

No no no no no… a police “Recommendation” does not mean that the Attorney General has to accept it. But… his days as PM are numbered. I want to see that BITCH wife of his go down, too. She is HATED here… truly a miserable, nasty piece of garbage!

  • leastyebejudged

Hang him and his cabal high !
