Biden Blasts Trump’s Praise For Rob Porter: That’s Like Saying An Axe Murderer Is A Great Painter [VIDEO]

Mediaite reports:

Former Vice President Joe Biden reacted to comments made today by President Trump about the outgoing White House aide accused of domestic abuse by two ex-wives. During a speech in Indiana talking about sexual assault, Biden read the statement from Trump that, while not mentioning the victims, did say the White House wishes Porter well. The former VP said, “That’s like saying that axe murderer out there––he’s a great painter.”

I don’t want to see Tim Kaine in 2020 running for Pres.

This from Raw Story is scary and the GOP does nothing.

I fucking hate those healthcare providers. It is not their place to determine whether or not someone “deserves” to be saved or to die for any reasons, much less who they are. It’s offensively unethical. They should have their licenses revoked.

      • Todd20036

Once upon a time, that’s EXACTLY what would happen

  • JWC

Biden nailed but its wasted on Trump as he sees no wrong

  • Yalma Cuder-Zicci

Biden just summed up Trump’s standing with the Republicans. They will overlook his many, many flaws, sins, and possible crimes, because they think is he good at making them money, or good at delivering their conservative agenda.

  • Ninja0980

Love Joe but blowing off Anita Hill and other accusers of Clarence Thomas and letting him have an up or down vote is something that WILL come up.
And there isn’t an answer good enough IMO to justify what happened back then.

    • Leo

Need to revisit this: Of course it would in a hypothetical, but I genuinely don’t think he’s running.

Bernie I DO think is running and his wife’s court case and the rape paper will come up too.

  • The_Wretched

Let’s not be too narrow in our condemnation here. Rob Porter isn’t the only WH staffer without final clearance. We need an investigation and removal of the rest of them that can’t clear the background check as well. WaPo says dozens are in that group.

    • clay

For instance, with Rob Porter gone, who delivered the continuing resolution and budget agreements to the President and back?

  • Ragnar Lothbrok

Hmmm well many people said Ted Bundy was very charming.

Expect to see underhanded shit like this going forward this year. They know they’re in trouble. Like the GOP moto says, if you can win then rig the game.

OT: With all the drama of the past week we shouldn’t forget that the Dem memo is still sitting on Donnie’s desk, waiting for him to approve it’s release.

    • clay

      • Cuberly Deux

Damn! I just read that as “Chief of Staff John Kelly expressed to Pres. Trump‘s willingness to resign,”

    • JackFknTwist

      Oh for god’s sake !
“expressed his willingness to resign”…..what the f uck is that ?

You resign or you don’t resign.

They f uck up the country, now they f uck up the language.

      • Lizard

        “What the fuck is that?”

Weaselly language to see where Trump really stands on the topic. Apparently Bannon did the same thing.

Mostly people resign because they want to resign. Sometimes they resign because the person/people above them want them to.

        • JackFknTwist

And some know they should resign , but they make a weasel half a ssed motion to resigning, knowing that their limp faux-
          resignation won’t be accepted.

      • Jefe5084

I think Kelly knows that this sort of language is an act of subservience to Trump. He knows that it appeases Trumps narcissistic megalomania. Kelly is betting that this wins him enough penance points to stay on–at least til the next fuck up.

    • stevenj

Whoever is in charge of greasing the revolving door at the WH has sure been busy the last year.

  • This whole situation is totally bizarre and disgusting. So this will be another position that will be vacant, what idiot would take it, maybe another wife beater or racist or homophobe or someone who can’t do their job. How many posts are still unfilled across the administration? The Olympics started today with a great emphasis on probably the most important diplomatic events with North Korea in our life time and there is still no US Ambassador in South Korea. Then you have stupid idiot Pence prancing around with that face that looks as though he is clenching his buttocks too tightly and having his first erection in 2018 at the sight of the shirtless Tongo guy. Its bonkers I tell you.

  • another_steve

Oy vey, Joe Biden. What are we to do with / make of him?

I both love and hate him.

My abiding sense, though, is that he’s not the future of the Democratic Party.

  • Leo

!!!!!!!! “Several Trump confidantes reached by ABC News said the president is considering multiple names as possible Kelly replacements, among those, top economic adviser Gary Cohn, Office of Management and Budget director Mick Mulvaney and Rep. Mark Meadows.”

    • The_Wretched

Mulvaney again? OMB and CFPB aren’t enough? Doesn’t Trump know (heh heh) that Mulvaney would just fire all the staff, stop the proceedings and tell congress to stop funding the executive branch?

      • Lazycrockett

        Mulvaney is a snake.

      • clay

Kellyanne’s got at least two jobs right now, as well.

  • JackFknTwist

No one is surprised that Trump/turd failed to mention the victims of the sexual assault.

After all, didn’t he make a speech on Holocaust Memorial Day and didn’t mention the Jews or anti-Semitism.
If it is not about him he has no interest.

    Trump/turd is seriously emotionally undeveloped.

    • Dreaming Vertebrate

He is a narcissistic sociopath. He can’t help but act callous, immature and without compassion for anyone or anything but himself.

      • JackFknTwist

Yeah, it has been totally obvious for a long time. He is the ultimate c unt……no one like him has any friends.
But I guess he just bought a few through money and now power.
        Fuck him.

  • Cuberly Deux

    “What is an empathy disorder?”

“A study of high-functioning adults with autistic spectrum disorders found an increased prevalence of alexithymia, a personality construct characterized by the inability to recognize and articulate emotional arousal in oneself or others. Based on fMRI studies, alexithymia is responsible for a lack of empathy.”

    • The_Wretched

I still think Trump’s mental issues are dementia + narcissism.

      • Cuberly Deux

True, he treats everything as assets that reflect upon him and his perceived status.

      • Jerry Kott

From my perspective, applying “dementia” to the list of disorders, only creates empathy for him. In his reality, he is in control. He is a con-man who painted himself into a corner

Are we really surprised by this scumbag’s comments about Porter? Let’s not forget…

“Hey, hey, hey. Come on! You know what guilt is. It’s one of those touchy-feely words that people throw around that don’t really mean anything. You know, like maternal or addiction.”

  • Lars Littlefield

OT: Rachel Brand is resigning. She was sworn in as the United States Associate Attorney General on May 22, 2017, after being nominated to the position by President Donald Trump. No one seems to think she isn’t being pressured by Trump to go away.

  • I knew a serial rapist/murderer who was a really good artist.

I did not know he was a serial rapist/murderer at the time. He used to hang out at my late brother’s pizzeria on Staten Island in the mid-1970’s. He had his art on exhibit and for sale at the Jerry Lewis Cinema a couple blocks from the pizza shop on Forest Avenue (his art involved painting the back side of glass with opaque and translucent colors, and placing it in a frame that had crinkled aluminum foil on the front of the back. His work really was quite good, and looked a lot like animation cels..

He would mention that he had previously been in prison, but made it seem like he had been framed. The theater owner recognized his talent and showcased his work.

The police, on the other hand, knew he was a serial rapist-murderer. He had been released from prison and was on parole. They had to wait until he committed his next rape-murder. His m.o. was to find a teenager (about 16 years old) in a park, who had to have long brown hair. His methodology was known, and shortly after he raped and murdered another teen, the police arrested him and he was convicted again.

At some point, the activities of this creep and people like him led to New York creating a Sex Offender registry (though the mere existence of the registry would not prevent a recidivist rape-murder from committing his crimes). After the arrest, the horrified theater owner removed the art exhibit.

And just thinking of how I knew him in person. As with many of his ilk, he seemed like a nice guy, down on his luck. But I never had an inkling as to the darkness in his character until after he had been arrested again.

Unlike Donald Trump and his chief of staff, I did not know the creep’s history. And unlike Trump. I would not excuse Porter’s behavior just because he was good at his job,

    • Strepsi

      Horrific and well-written Joann

As far as Vice President Biden goes, I do miss thought-out, reasoned responses to assholes. Seriously. What the fuck did we do to deserved Commander Bone Spurs? Yes, you’ll tell me it’s what the rest of the country DIDN’T do (i.e., vote), but there’s more to it than that. Russia. Republicans. The Despicables (the administration) and the banana republicans. The Deplorables. Facebook. Cable news. And on and on. I’m glad that the US had President Obama and Vice President Biden as the last real statesmen before the country died. But why the fuck did we die?

    • The_Wretched

Oligarch (wealthy elite) wanted to loot the country even more and faster.

    • marshlc

Gerrymandering, voter suppression, Citizen’s United, the theft of a Supreme Court seat, all met with grumbling but no real outrage. It became increasingly clear to the republicans that the American electorate, as a whole, didn’t really care that much if they had a functioning democracy or not.

  • JackFknTwist

Well, at least the Middle East has been solved, Afghanistan won and pacified, Korea denuclearized, and NATO all friends again.

    Thanks Jared.

  • Gianni

Our Dear Leader has an affinity for abusers of women. That’s understandable. He has thirteen accusers himself, pity they’re all liars, though. He really has to tiptoe around this issue when he comments on it. He really doesn’t want to reignite the attention on his own history with women.

  • Mike

Trump defended nazis. Nothing else comes close, and nothing else surprises. There are hundreds of reasons why, but this is the main reason Trump supporters deserve to be shunned.

  • Squicky

There’s nothing wrong with saying an axe murderer is a great painter; moral character and skill are simply not related. There IS something wrong if you say ‘that axe murderer WAS a great painter, but now that people found out, we’re changing our opinion. Even though we already knew and think he’s great.’

    • Squicky

Similarly, it is logically unsound to say ‘because he is a great painter, his axe murders should be overlooked.’

    • Ann Kah

True, that’s not the best illustration. But the main point about Porter is that he was in a position where he needs the security clearance – that he is never going to get.
