Biden Suggests Putin Is Blackmailing Trump [VIDEO]

Raw Story reports:

Former Vice President Joe Biden suggested President Donald Trump may be compromised by Russia and its president. Biden sat down Thursday for an interview with MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell, who asked the former vice president why Trump was “so reluctant to take on Vladimir Putin.”

“Look, you know, I want to give every American, including the president, the benefit of the doubt, but I can’t fathom any reason other than he is concerned of what Putin might say or do, or what information he may or may not have,” Biden said.

  • Of course he is. That’s not been in much doubt. Only qualification is that Donald still thinks he can win favored treatment from his blackmailer. Because he’s such a beta whenever faced with strong opposition.

    • And I see the Dow is down 600-ish points again today, with ‘bond fears’ cited.

      • The_Wretched

I suspect the actual reason is some new scheme by GoldmanSachs to manipulate the market / game the bets on the volatility index.

        • David Walker

GoldmanSachs makes up a good part of Cadet Bone Spurs’ cabinet. Oh. Right. Former GoldmanSachs. And what was the objection to Hillary speaking to GS?

          • The_Wretched

GS hedges its bets and would run either side. The objection is that maybe bernie wouldn’t have run with GS.

      • Butch

It’s OK. My plan was to work until age 97 anyway./s

        • Todd20036

          as an escort?

          • Tulle Christensen

Well he is butch after all

      • kaydenpat

And of course Hannity will blame President Obama for that drop. **rolls eyes**

    • RoFaWh

Fat Donnie Two-scoops is just a common or garden variety bully. And, like all bullies, he’s fundamentally a coward and folds very quickly if you fight back. Or, as you put it so nicely, whenever he is faced with strong opposition.

      • Indeed. Most of us probably witnessed this in grade school, when the prevailing bully is met with a bigger, meaner one—and instantly becomes obsequious and submissive, usually seeking to become the new bully’s closest underling.

  • Tulle Christensen

    Well duh,

    Love you Uncle Joe

    • William

Damn, I was going to say duh.

      • edrex

        it bears repeating.

    • Harley

And a good many republicans also, especially Nunes.

      • kaydenpat

        Pretty much all of them.

      • TangierOrange

RNC emails were also hacked, but not leaked (at least to media in the west).
Many and multiple forms of blackmail possible there.

    • trog

Unfortunately, most Americans are too dumb to understand the nuances of money laundering and blackmail. I’ve talked to people who are like “Russians don’t want to rule the U.S. and have troops here,” as if that’s what any of this is about.

  • bkmn

Good to see this being raised publicly, so Trump now has to try to disprove it.

    • j.martindale

You mean try to lie his way out of it.

      • David Walker

Whatevs. You have the popcorn or should I get some?

  • Steve Smith

You can hear it already from Orange Fuckface -“Fake news! Fake news! Fake news!”

    • fuow

And the people in this country who vote well believe him.

  • Ninja0980

No doubt Trump is being blackmailed.
Only question is who else is?

    • Tulle Christensen

Nunes I can think of at the moment

    • RoFaWh

I’m more curious to learn what the consequence would be if Trump refused to be blackmailed any longer. Is it some threat of physical harm, or merely a psychological threat like releasing the pee tapes? Or what?

  • Rex

So, Putin’s seen his tax returns.

    • Stephen Elliot Phillips

      Putin IS his tax return

  • Jerry Kott

very possible. But there needs to be an element of shame demonstrated by T45 to make extortion possible and so far T45 has not exhibited any sense of shame. But then again, this may be off the charts.

    • edrex

shame or financial ruin. i’m betting on the latter.

      • Jerry Kott

I suspect we will be finding out soon.

      • RoFaWh

I’ve read “somewhere on the web” that one thing Trump intensely dislikes is embarrassment, hence his ludicrous crusade to erase as far as possible all evidence that Obama was once President and did good things. Obama really got under Trumpity-doo-dah’s delicate skin at the correspondents’ annual roast

Proof: Has Trump ever out and out laughed at anything? Or is it that the best he can do is to flash his glittering teeth in one of his fake smirks that he’d learned at Roy Cohn’s feet?

Even the Queen is sometimes photographed laughing entirely whole-heartedly.

      • -M-

I agree and would add his fragile ego that can’t stand to be exposed as the failure he is.

    • Nax

That’s my thought–I cannot think of a thing, not a single solitary thing, including a dead girl or a live boy, that Trump or his supporters would find blackmail-able.

  • The_Wretched

    Release the Tapes!

    • Tulle Christensen

Sadly there is a 18 minute gap where all you can hear is tinkling

  • Butch

    And water is wet.
Still, I certainly do miss the previous administration.

    • kaydenpat

I think most of us do. They were a classy, dignified, well spoken bunch. And we didn’t have to cringe or wince when they tweeted or gave speeches. Sigh.

      • Galvestonian

I miss all the previous administrations – every damn one of them.

  • TexasBoy
    • JT

“We can even arrange a golden shower shake for you, my boy.”

  • Lars Littlefield

Biden just said as much a few minutes go in a taped interview on MSNBC. If he were only 15 years younger.

    • if only rich dems would spend their money and time trying to elect local leaders, who are often young, female and blah, instead of lazily just sending X hundred dollars to the national party once a year and feeling like they are ‘doing something.’

  • Treant

    Who needs to suggest?

    Putin is blackmailing Trump.

    And we all know it.

    • RoFaWh

No question that Putin controls Fat Donnie Two-scoops, but it isn’t necessarily blackmail. It may be more a matter of Putin emphasizing the benefits of Trump cooperating, than any downside (e.g. broken knees) to not cooperating.

It all amounts to the same thing in the end, but FD2S is too dim to figure this out.

The foregoing is purely speculation with no evidence in its favor over other proposals regarding the same matter.

    • -M-

I don’t think he needs to. Trump is greedy, gullible and constantly desperate for validation.

  • fuow

Yup. But, heh, we don’t need to vote. Elections don’t have consequences.

    • Tulle Christensen

No need to vote, Russia will do it for you!!!!!!!

  • IAMBOWLINGGREEN
    • Treant

      For fun, I make candles.

My next one has to be bright yellow and called, “Urine Trouble Now!”

I’m thinking a nice, clean lemon scent with a dash of plumeria and pineapple.

      • Butch

Or like the old song, “Urine the money?”

        • Treant

That would require a dark green stripe and a lime note. 🙂

          • Butch

I’ll upvote you twice on that answer!

      • David Walker

There was a musical called “Urinetown.” It had a successful run and its Christmas ad included
In the meadow we will build a snowman
And pretend that he is Parson Brown.
        He’ll say, “Are you married?”
        We’ll say, “No, man.
But you can do the job when ‘Urinetown.'”

        • Treant

Now that’s just bad. But I have seen yellow snowmen (somebody got creative with the food coloring and a spray bottle).

      • edrex

make it smell like b vitamins and coffee.

        • Rex

          or asparagus.

      • Rex

Perhaps a lovely “recycled beer” scent.

      • JT

        With a hint of ammonia.

    • too bad both aren’t actually microbrew IPA names.

    • kaydenpat

      NEED!

  • geoffalnutt

Great, thundering supersonic “duh” on a stick dipped in honey and rolled in blanched, baked, slivered almonds!!! Is he new here?

    • David Walker

I think I gained 10 pounds reading that sentence.

  • David Walker

I returned to the Bloom County FB page today and did a little cherry picking. This seemed appropriate.

  • Henry Auvil

If Handsome Joe is shopping this around, shit has credibility.

  • i really am starting to hate all this Kabuki. it’s like during the boosh years.

look, important national dems: stop bullshitting me and millions of others who know the truth, while you fellate the wife of the guy who wants to cut SS and disability benefits for those on them right now, so more potential and future workers will never make a living wage (the two are connected).

i know the Senator from MBNA isn’t allowed to speak frankly, but even MBNA should be worried about their servers, their secret accounts, where all that e-money is stored, and the abilities of pootie’s obviously talented hackers.

tldr: Biden is one of those high ranking types who saw, long ago, just how deeply the russians are into our system. stop pretending like anything you’re saying is “new” news or conjecture. if little people like me can perceive the problem, someone with your security clearance can and should have a long time ago, and done something about it when there was still time to save our republic. /spits

    • I was an intern for Joe Biden in college at his Senate Office — (when I was in college at the University of Maryland) and he was brilliant. Russians or anyone actually controlling elections I never remember anyone bringing up and I worked on voting research trends for him

The level of fraud that went on in 2016 – a foreign power (Russia) getting involved in our election at the behest of a candidate is really a first.

If any party were to have brought up charges like this during the cold war (before 1990), it would be the Republicans! They would have accused (and probably did) some Democrats of collaborating with communist organizations in bringing down “true American” candidates.

Putin had a real opportunity with Trump. He saw a strong Hillary Clinton as a real threat in terms of invigorating democratic forces within Russia. Trump, who he had financial dealings with and control over, was an incredible opportunity.

Also, the ability of social media — to influence elections was simply not there before 10 years ago. And the Russians are much more sophisticated than the Democratic Party is, for example, in exploiting and countering this.

      • so why don’t you forward him my comment, and let him know i’m on his side, mostly, except for the ‘protect the rich’ part. i am a Finn; i hate Russians and know what they do when they are conquerors.

  • kaydenpat

“I want to give every American, including the president, the benefit of the doubt”

Not Trump. Sorry but he doesn’t deserve that benefit.

    • David Walker

Really. That train left the station in June of 2016.

      • kaydenpat

Probably before then. He has always been a creep and has done nothing to qualify hiim for his current high office.

      • JCF

2015? [When he announced for President]

Really, I would say when he went birther in 2011.

        • David Walker

          Good point.

    • lymis

I want to give people the benefit of the doubt, too. But they forfeit that when their actions prove they don’t deserve it.

For Donald Trump, that happened sometime in the 1980’s.

  • Ninja0980
    • The_Wretched

Why? Geez. it’s not like the were plotting to drop pig’s blood on the dancers.

    • Headline never seen: “High school senior disciplined for asking his girlfriend to the prom.”

      I hate homophobes.

      • I mean, wow… This was just a “promposal” = asking someone to the prom.

The previous year, THIS happened, with no results:

“The next day, however, the principal invoked ‘Christian values’ and disciplined Janizia, even though a marriage proposal made by a straight couple at a talent show in a previous year had resulted in no disciplinary action,” Castillo said.

        Emphasis added.

        A marriage proposal. I can’t even.

        • Tulle Christensen

“the principal invoked ‘Christian values”. well there goes any chance the school could win a court case

      • Reality.Bites

In Alabama that’s because the type of girl he’d be disciplined for asking to the prom wouldn’t be allowed to go to his school in the first place.

        • Now we know why middle-aged Roy Moore felt free to prey on middle-school girls.

      • Rex

        Or asking his sister.

      • Judas Peckerwood

        “I hate homophobes.”

Nowhere near as much as they hate us.

    • It Takes a Village, People

      …I mean the SOUTH…. in Alabam….

  • JWC

One of the true “adults” Obama the other

And… a few seconds after this video clip ends, while asking about Comey’s October email memo, Andrea goes on to ask if “[Hillary] would have won if she were a better candidate.”

    • Gianni

No, Hillary did win, but we have a system that allows the Electoral College to choose our President and they did.

  • -M-

I’m sure Putin has plenty of kompromat on Donnie and the other dumpsters. I doubt he has to threaten them much though, Two-scoops’s vanity, greed, and gullibility are largely sufficient to explain his actions. Russia’s recruiters have been grooming the Dotard, telling him all about their grievances and friendliness, since the eighties.

  • boobert

It’s not just trump, it’s most of the republican party.

  • Putin does not have to “overtly” blackmail Trump, or even do much of anything right now. It should be obvious to anyone following the news of the past two years that Putin has been controlling Trump and his family all along by –
    1. Controlling the inflow of cash, both legit and dirty, into Trump/Kushner family/associated real estate and commercial venture enterprises. Real estate speculation is all about dirty money laundering and this is what Putin and his allies have had to do. This would have gone on without the added bonus of Trump being President for Putin.
    2. I for one think that the “pissgate” tapes are not the big story in the Steele dossier. What is the big story is the bribes, the illegal payments, the lack of fiscal transparency of Trump Enterprises in getting this deal – Miss Universe Moscow (or whatever).
    3. It is obvious Trump has something to hide. He will not release his taxes. But even if they are released, the trail of dirty money to Putin can only be truly proven with his acquiescence. Putin’s blackmail ability is controlling this narrative.
    4. The one thing though that does not make any sense in all of this is Trump’s mid east foreign policy right now. Russia is being slammed in Syria (their big client state) being told to take a hike by the Arab world and Iranians. In addition, they are looking like two bit players in Trump’s agenda compared to China. It seems that Trump is not controlling world events — which is why I suspect that Putin may quickly grow tired of his “prison bitch” and dump him by releasing information. If the Democrats are machiavellian enough, they could make this happen sooner than later. Biden btw was a superb head of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee before he was VP- he will have ideas about this.

    • Tulle Christensen

      Yea not blackmail, bribes

      Yes! Eddi got it right

      • -M-

Yes, and on top of that throw in the fact that Trump is a gullible fool, now sinking into dementia, and the Russians have been stringing him along and feeding him their talking points for decades.

    • m_lp_ql_m

The phrase is “Follow the money,” not “follow the piss.”

  • Friday’s_cat

Trump enacts the sanctions Vlad calls in the markers. That simple.

    • William

And the pee tapes overflow the airwaves.

  • Halou

In other news, water is wet.

  • Jean-Marc in Canada

Joe, don’t sugarcoat it, just come out and say, “Trump IS being blackmailed by Putin”

  • Galvestonian

I would not be at all surprised if one of the security services — be it FBI, CIA or Secret Service already has a copy of the Russian blackmail video/tape/whatever/film that Putin had made of the Orange Shitler.

They’re probably sitting around drinking beers, throwing spitballs at the screen and laughing their asses off at what the dumbfuck POTUS is cranking out.

It’s only a matter of time before it’s released to the general public.
