Trump: Not Applauding For Me Is “Treasonous” [VIDEO]

The right wing Townhall reports:

During a speech touting the Republican-led Tax Cuts and Jobs Act in Blue Ash, Ohio, President Trump railed against Democrats for being dead silent during his State of the Union address.

Even when he was sharing positive, bipartisan news on the economy, Trump looked over at the Democrats and saw few smiles. It was “very selfish” for the Democrats for wanting him to fail than having the country succeed, the president said.

It got to the point where Trump stopped even looking at the Democratic side. “It was bad energy,” he recalled. Even on positive news, “they were like death and un-American.” “Can we call that treason?” he asked. “Why not.”

    • DaMoldBrok

Now, now. Lets not be insulting, everyone has one of those, and we don’t want to insult everyone.

You should call IT a WHOLE ASS!

  • Lizard

Authoritarian dictator. Treasonous piece of shit.

He wouldn’t know treason if it slapped him upside the head. He’s too stupid.

  • Proud MOFO Beaner (bkb)

This is the part of the movie we realize it’s supposed to be a comedy.

    • PickyPecker

I’m tired of this show. And the snackbar sucks here.

  • Boreal

Fuck you fat shitgibbon. I wouldn’t clap unless you were being mauled by hyenas.

    • Stogiebear

I’d also clap if he were being mauled by chinchillas, but hyenas would help drown out our laughter while they mauled him.

      • Boreal

Chinchillas bite hard. I had one as a child. Can it be both?

        • PickyPecker

Why not both?? I’d like to volunteer to run the concession stand.

        • Tom Furgas

As Trump himself said; “Why not?”

        • Xiao Ai: The Social Gadfly

          Why not?

        • evan_or

Chinchillas also rear up on their hind-legs and spray urine as a defense mechanism, but Donnie would probably enjoy that.

          • Joseph Miceli

Especially if he didn’t have to pay for it.
How do you get the Cinchilla to speak with a Russian accent, though?

        • Stogiebear

Your wish is my command, Madame!

      • Mark Cross

…as long as we’re fantasizing, let’s throw in a hungry honey badger, too…

      • Cattleya1

Chinchillas stand up and pee on you. I had to babysit some one time. I would truly enjoy that, except that he might too.

    • Gianni

I think it would be better to just make a small slice on one wrist and toss him into the Amazon with the pirana’s. They’ll leave only the bones within minutes.

    • Randy503

The jails are going to be overflowing with treasonous people, then. Go ahead — arrest us. You will have to arrest every productive able-bodied, educated and intelligent person in the US. That will shut down the economy and the country.

    • Ninja0980

      I wouldn’t even then.

    • AtticusP

I would be rooting for the hyenas! Go, you hungry beasts! Go!

  • And further down the rabbit hole we go.

    • zhera

There’s a reason why he’s using the word ‘treasonous’ now. He knows Mueller Time is approaching, fast. So just like with ‘fake news’ he’s stealing the meaning of the phrase/word, making it meaningless by the time it’s used against him.

Also: Somebody ought to tell him how feminine his movements are when he’s speaking. It’s ridiculous!

  • Proud MOFO Beaner (bkb)

Look at the mouth-breathing Real ‘Mericans ™ behind him. **cue banjo music**

Yes, you, and anyone else, may use it. It is a long statement, but the mental image gives one warm fuzzies and emotional gratification!

They had no reason to applaud when he bragged about how well the stock market has done ‘because’ of him…and how well the black unemployment number was at a record low…Well, now what does the orange one have to say about the stock market losing almost 2000 points since that STUPID, SELF-CONGRATULATING speech and black unemployment up a whole percentage point in one month??????? Anything? ….crickets…..

  • bkmn

If he wants applause from us, all he has to do is be questioned by Mueller.

    • Gianni

I’d hurt my hands applauding if he’d just resign. Walk out the front door carrying a suitcase and wave bye-bye.

      • AJayne

That won’t happen ’cause he knows NY AG Schneiderman would be waiting just past the gate to arrest him for money laundering. We will need us Marshals to escort him out, preferably with his hands in cuffs…

      • bkmn

If that ever happens I hope the Democrats will not allow him to simply walk away free. He needs to be prosecuted for all the damage he has done.

        • Gianni

I’m financially illiterate… what’s going on with the stock market?
    Is this normal?

    • Sam_Handwich

last year’s growth was not normal either. i guess it’s a reaction to that bubble.

      • gaycuckhubby

So an artificial high that is coming back to reality?

I guess it’s all kind of artificial

        • The_Wretched

There is a bubble (unsustainable P/E ratios). Unless we drop to 20,000 or even lower (preferably slowly) it’s not a coming back to reality.

    • Prost Seattle

I think the financial markets are starting to realize that their stool pigeons (also known as Republicans) May not be in control for much longer ne’er.

    • The_Wretched

The stock market is falling rapidly. It is, however, 3-4% volatility. That used to be pretty normal. A steady market is a sign of good fiscal stewardship. Volatilaty is part and parcel a problem of unlimited markets with no accountability.

People who paid attention to the -8% GDP in the last half year of Bush the Lesser fear that this is the expect crash of the economy due to the oligarchs looting and Trump’s evisceration of the FEDGOV.

      • gaycuckhubby

Damn. I wish I understood half of what you were saying. Because it sounds like you know of what you speak.
I really need to make an effort to understand the financial markets better

        • Prost Seattle

          From Politico:

he big slide comes alongside growing concern that an economy juiced by a massive corporate tax cut, and already at full employment, could overheat and require forceful action from a new and untested Federal Reserve chairman — installed by Trump — to cool things down.

On top of concerns about rising inflation, the tax cuts are already increasing the federal government’s need to borrow and accelerating the date by which Congress must raise the federal debt limit. And as of Monday, there was still no plan in Washington to raise the limit and avoid a catastrophic default.

          • gaycuckhubby

So the tax cuts are a disaster for everyone?

          • The_Wretched

There are two group of people who make out like bandits. 1. the oligarchs who straight up own ‘small companies’ (by employees not by assets). 2. Managers who receive compensation as stock in bigcorps. The later win via stock buy backs on ‘repatriated funds’. Every one else loses. By how much varies but everyone else loses.

          • Prost Seattle

Well, the rich are still going to do better than you or I will. When workers have more money (wages increase) and interests are low so money is cheap , the economy heats up and inflation can run amok. Inflation in 1975 was 11.5%. That’s huge, we have been used to 2-3% for the past decade.

One good thing about high inflation is I bet Donald owes a shed load of money (or rubles) who’s interest is pegged to inflation, and my bet is he won’t be able to service that debt at high interest rates.

I’m glad I have my mortgage locked into to 2.875%. I hope folks with adjustable rates look at locking in a rate, I feel interest rates are in for a significant spike.

          • Mr. Ric
        • The_Wretched

The short version is to diversify your holdings and save up some cash if you can. Make a plan for what you will do if you lose your job.

  • The_Wretched

Frank Lundtz school of language abuse. I’m sure someone inserted this assault on the word ‘treason’ to make it lose power as an attack on Trump and trumprussia.

No, Donald, “Treason” is colluding with an enemy…like Russia.

  • Dagoril

    “Can we call that treason?”

No, we can’t. Now fuck the fuck off.

  • “Buy on the rumor” = Stock market climbing far beyond reasonable P/E ratios after the GOP tax cut.

“Sell on the news” = Wage increases (a lot of this due to higher min wages in a number of states). Word the Fed might be raising interest rates multiple times. Word the gov’t will hit its debt limit in April/May already due to the tax cuts. And finally confirmation Donald won’t reappoint Janet Yellin, even though she was seen as a pretty good Fed Chair.

How it always works. I see an uptick recovery began around 3:30pm EST. Remains to be seen what this portends. Sometimes there’s a brief recovery before an even bigger plunge.

    DEFINITION of ‘Dead Cat Bounce’
A dead cat bounce is a temporary recovery from a prolonged decline or a bear market that is followed by the continuation of the downtrend. The name “dead cat bounce” is based on the notion that even a dead cat will bounce if it falls far enough and fast enough.

    BREAKING DOWN ‘Dead Cat Bounce’
Frequently, downtrends are interrupted by brief periods of recovery, or small rallies, when prices temporarily rise. This can be a result of traders or investors closing out short positions or buying on the assumption that the security has reached a bottom.

A dead cat bounce is a price pattern that is usually identified in hindsight. Analysts may attempt to predict that the recovery will be only temporary by using certain technical and fundamental analysis tools. A dead cat bounce can be seen in the broader economy, such as during the depths of a recession, or it can be seen in the price of an individual stock or group of stocks.
    Identifying a Dead Cat Bounce

A dead cat bounce is a price pattern used by technical analysts. It is considered a continuation pattern, where at first the bounce may appear to be a reversal of the prevailing trend, but it is quickly followed by a continuation of the downward price move. It becomes a dead cat bounce (and not a reversal) after price drops below its prior low. Short-term traders may attempt to profit from the small rally, and traders and investors may try to use the temporary reversal as a good opportunity to initiate a short position.

Similar to identifying a market peak or trough, recognizing a dead cat bounce ahead of time is fraught with difficulty, even for skilled investors. In March 2009, for example, Nouriel Roubini of New York University referred to the incipient stock market recovery as a dead cat bounce, predicting that the market would reverse course in short order and plummet to new lows. In fact, March 2009 marked the beginning of a protracted bull market, eventually surpassing its pre-recession high.

    Dead Cat Bounce Example
Stock prices for Cisco Systems Inc. peaked at $82 per share in March 2000 before falling to $15.81 in March 2001 amid the dotcom collapse. Cisco saw many dead cat bounces in the ensuing years. The stock recovered to $20.44 by November 2001, only to fall to $10.48 by September 2002. As of June 2016, Cisco trades at $28.47 per share, barely one-third of its peak price during the tech bubble in 2000.

One of the best was to do this is to hold a speech, rife with jingoism, concepts of a fatherland and presented in a dubious wrapping of faux patriotism thus forcing the opposition to show faint praise having seen through the subterfuge but allowing you to point and say ‘they did not applaud, therefore, they must be traitors.’ Do this often, especially when set upon by facts and/or investigations/questions of collusion, corruption or graft.”

You would think that someone who has spent a lifetime committing treason would at least understand the meaning of the word. But, then again, we ARE talking about the orange sphincter here.

  • DrRobY

Can you imagine the hell we would all be experiencing had a single congressman/congresswoman had shouted “You Lie!” during the State of the Union?

    • Gianni

The ranting tweets would be tremendous and extremely entertaining just knowing that he was going over the edge.

  • Gianni

I’m surprised that Donnie hasn’t just outright suggested that we refer to him as Dear Leader like the N. Koreans do to Li’l Kim. It really shows that Li’l Kim gets much more respect from his people than the Bestest, Greatest, Wonderfulest President gets from his. That really needs to be pointed out to Donnie.

  • justme

Well thank god no one accused him of lying!!!

  • Matt

It’s like he never noticed the template laid out by the GOP when Obama spoke during and after 8 years of growth.

  • Albert Ross

    Whatta pig.

  • netxtown

donnie needs to remember if the dems don’t clap – the market falls bigly.

    • Taylor Bixler

Like Tucker won’t have that as a chyron tonight…Dems crash market because of their lack of faith in dear leader.

  • Rick Jackson

Hey you orange shit stain, I have five words for you. They are all small so you should be able to keep up. Ready?

    Fuck You, You Fucking Fuck!

  • Henry Auvil

Let’s see… accusing a sitting president of not being a real American, questioning the patriotism of grieving Gold Star parents, and demeaning highly respected law enforcement professionals as “liars and leakers” is OK. But Democratic members of Congress who fail to applaud your lies is “treason”? No way this country can survive this shit without some MAJOR therapy.

  • Ragnar Lothbrok
    • Taylor Bixler

Good thing I put all my money in bitcoin last december…

      • Pip

        Except that’s crashing too.

  • Bryan

Haven’t used a Disqus acct, FB instead (probably’ll bite me in the ass later) I was acct-locked for “suspicious activity” on my account. I just find it ironic because I’m 99.9% sure nothing could’ve compromised it, ergo I conclude I must have pissed someone off exercising my right to free speech.

How utterly ironic it happened trying to log in to comment on a story like this. Again the mofo never ceases to amaze me – I expected he’d say something like this but I didn’t think it’d be this early in the proto-dictatorship. Isn’t he jumping the gun a little? He hasn’t consolidated the power to make that kind of threat.

TRUMP – the ONLY way you’ll EVER get me to applaud is if you put seven rounds into the back of my skull and then animate my arms like a marionette. And I swear to whatever higher powers may be if you try I’ll haunt you fuckin’ good.

Here’s another truth – you’re in the end-phase of a Faustian bargain, but you’ve begun to reap the curse. Your dementia, your cognitive decline, your ego, your fading looks. Somewhere a hideous picture of you has begun to transform back into a pretty image.

You’re nothing more than the reversal of a Dorian Gray.

    • Jay George

There have been a couple of weird bots on disqus that steal posts and credit them to someone else, e.g. I make a post and the bot comes along and takes my name off it and puts another name there but leaves the post intact otherwise. It certainly pays to keep an eye on things.

      • Bryan

I’ll take that as a mark of proof that Russia sees ‘me’ personally as a threat. Good. I know I’ve seen a few with my DP and the UCSD area but espousing Randian conservative shit…. I know a lot of my Alma Mater was libertarian but it didn’t make much sense. But it’s also tricky because my DP isn’t uncommon so it IS entirely possible it was a coincidence. I still called the person out on being a potential sockpuppet/bot though.

      • Dazzer

Damnit! My posts never get stolen by bots. They reject me.

It’s the story of my dating life writ digital.

Hi Daxxer, I’m wrting you undera assumed name. Please call me irina.

That was a proper chuckle moment. Thank you so much for that

        • Jay George

If it makes you feel any better, those bots are unattractive with terrible personalities. 😐

  • OT- -The Republican Party is doing what it is good at today. Trashing up financial markets with roller collar unregulated speculation. Anyone turning on the news and seeing what is going on? The Dow was down 1900 points at one point today.
The Democratic Party must figure out a way of making two key issues the main issues of the 2018 midterms IN ADDITION to it being a referendum on Trump —
    1. Republican Fiscal Irresponsibility in giving us massive budget deficits in an overheated economy. I am afraid that what we are seeing today is a foretaste of the wild coaster ride we are about to see.
    2. Social Security and Medicare must be protected. If seniors and those approaching retirement do not see these programs at risk they are very mistaken.
We need to stop letting Donald Trump and Fox News, and Devin Nunes determine what 75% of news media coverage determines on any specific day. Russiagate is important. But Donald Trump’s twitter account is getting way too much attention and the American people are being made the fools because we are going along with their game.
Mom and pop Midwest and retirement West Coast Florida who swing voted for Trump need to vote their pocketbooks and protect the little savings they have now if they expect to have any comfort at all for the rest of their lives by voting Democratic. We need to bring this home — like F. D. Roosevelt did—- to every single voter out there.

    • clay

      2. Social Security and Medicare must cannot be protected.

Just wait ’til you see Ryan’s budget come March.

      • Silver Badger

        I hope you’re wrong.

        • TCinBerkeley

Ryan has made it pretty clear that “entitlements” are on his list. It will be interesting to see how many Republicans are suddenly “woke” when that happens.

      • Then let the Republican Party be electrocuted by the third rail of American Politics come November. I dare them.

      • Taylor Bixler

Medicaid will likely get hammered first. Lots of Cult 45 members use Medicare, and “want the govamnt to keep their hands off Medicare”

      Perfectly put.

    You Lie!!!

      Saddam Hussein too.

    • Rocco

Thanks for that link, I really enjoyed it, it gave me a little hope. The closing about the calf and the oak was something I will take with me.

  • Chris Baker

Remember when Democratic leaders said their top priority was to make Trump a one-term President? I mean, if that isn’t treasonous, I don’t know what is.

    ohhh, wait, checking my notes.

    • Chuck in NYC

Or calling out “You lie!” to Obama in the middle of his State of the Union speech. I mean, the Dems were polite enough to keep their mouths shut the other night.

      • DaMoldBrok

It would have be been wonderful if the Dems all sang in unison, “you lie, you lie” ever time he made a false statement! In the tone of ‘Hi-Ho, hi-ho’

  • JCF

    OUT. Get him OUT!!!!

  • geoffalnutt

As always the projection. Yes, we know you’re a treasonous horror from Hell, but were planning a lovely farewell party for you. Buck up, asshole! It’ll be over soon

First, for a hundred good reasons, Trump doesn’t deserve the applause and Second, this is exactly how a 3rd world banana republic dictators talk.

    • The_Wretched

It makes Putin giddy to watch the US PRES office holder fail so badly.

  • Halou

“It was “very selfish” for the Democrats for wanting him to fail than having the country succeed, the president said.”

Not smiling at Trump is “un-American”. Perhaps he can set up a committee to investigate “un-American” activities?

Either way, the Dearest Dotard is trying to conflate himself as an individual and America the country. Where in a very Hitlerian, Stalinist twist he IS the country. And pledging allegiance to him personally is as good as or even better than pledging allegiance to the nation and to the constitution upon which it was built.

Make no mistake, this is a fight for survival, Trump is at war with America and everything it stands for, and if Trump survives it America will not. The outcome of this mighty struggle will define world history for centuries to come, one way or the other.

  • Halou

I’ll give him some fucking applause!
The sound of one hand clapping.

  • Travis Morrow

Come get me you, piece of shit.

  • Charles Nelson

If a Democratic member of Congress has called out “You Lie!” as did the Republican during Obama’s SOTU…Our Glorious Leader would probably have pulled out a gun and shot him…to the thunderous applause from his minions.

    • Halou

      Something, something, 5th Avenue.

  • misterjack

Hey, Orangeturd, how about instead we pelt you with rotten food and feces?

  • Gregory Peterson

What does the stock market fall mean for us living paycheck to paycheck types?

    • -M-

Hopefully nothing but missing out on an opportunity to buy stocks cheaply. Although if your employer feels pinched by the decline it could potentially have consequences for expansion, reinvestment, raises, hiring vs layoffs.

      • Gregory Peterson

  • Len Ricci

I’ll clap when they slam the jail gates behind you… you ass.

  • Donald Milliken

The crowd behind him looks like refugees from a cousin fucking convention. Quality base. He attracts all the best people.

    • TrollopeReader

lots of smi ……no, not smiles. Frowns??

  • Slippy_World
  • Buford

The obvious… if refusing to applaud for the president is treason, what do we call it when someone vociferously declares that the president was not born in the USA, is not a valid US citizen, and his presidency is invalid…?

  • FAEN

WOW! STFU you obese 71 yr old Joffrey!

  • FelineMama

No, donnie. Treason is having you as prezidint. Illegally. Hey, Stupid, how’s come you keep bringing up the Dems for everything, when it’s you & your crooked congress in control.?
There was some other Asshole in the past that Demanded Loyalty to Him & the Fatherland. Now, who was that? Oh, yeah!! Seig Heil, donnie!!!

His supporters suck this shit right up.

I think they’re all attention whores.

I think “Sieg” and “Heil” would have been his expected response

  • What a petulant putrid person.

  • thatotherjean

“Can we call that treason? Why not?”

Because words have meanings, you idiot. Not applauding you is not one of the meanings of treason. They didn’t applaud you because they don’t like your policies. That is not a crime. You’ve finally met people who can oppose you without your being able to fire them. Suck it up, Donnie.

  • David
  • ted-

He would know treason I suppose.

    Traitor trump. Putin’s pussy.

  • Lee Grupsmith-Pedersen
  • Wynter Marie Starr

Go ahead and try and call it treason, you idiot. I’d love to see the lawsuits. Treason is colluding with a foreign nation to win an election. Not clapping for your fat ass and stupidity is covered under the 1st Amendment

  • andrew

Why not call it treason? Because it’s not. Why call it treason? Because that’s what authoritarian dictators do.

  • ultragreen

The Democrats should have booed him.

  • Snownova

Shall we compile a list of Republicans who didn’t applaud for all 8 of Obama’s SOTU’s? I mean if not applauding once is treason then these guys should be shot on sight right?

  • Gianni

Can’t someone please clue Donnie in on how ridiculous his hair always looks?
