Junior Blasts Russian Probe As McCarthyism Then Declares Democrats Are “Left Of Commies” [VIDEO]

Mediaite reports:

Shortly after suggesting Democrat claims of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia is akin to “McCarthyism” — a reference to irrational, unfounded accusations of communist-ties made by late Senator Joseph McCarthy in the 1950s — Donald Trump Jr. said the Democrat Party are “left of commies.”

Donald Jr., who made the comments during an appearance on Fox News with host Jesse Watters, attacked Democrats and the media for Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s probe into Kremlin election tampering — as he deems the investigation to be a witch hunt against President Donald Trump.

Witch hunt it is not. Nice try, traitor

And on another related sad note…the Republican pollster from SC just said on AMJoy (talking about firing Mueller) that NOTHING Donald Trump could do would result in the current congress doing anything. Nothing.

As Joy said: viewers, let that sink in.

Election day can not come soon enough. 🙁

How could we see any parts (lady or otherwise) with that bigly roll of “239 lbs” hanging over them?

          • Chef Philips

A sacrificial lamb will need to be chosen to check that out

          • Uncle Mark

Wouldn’t it be less traumatic to find the Russians, who sacrificed their sanity to record this? Maybe we can coax Melania to don a nad-cam to capture this info. Rumor has it that she’s pissed at her owner at the moment

Not only that but there are way too many people on our side that want someone that is 100% perfect and if they don’t get him/her, they’ll stay home to teach Democrats a lesson.

          • KarenAtFOH

They aren’t on our side. They’re just cultists of personality.

They were never on our side.

          • MBear

That is also ignorance. And fomented by propaganda – divide one party, and the lesser can win. And upon winning, can skew the rules.

          • lymis

I agree. The time to hold your candidates to the fire on ideological “purity” is while they’re in development – whether that’s as local politicians, or while they’re running in a primary – and AFTER they’re elected.

Get the CANDIDATES who reflect your values as much as possible.

But when it’s time to actually vote, get out there and vote for the person who’s closest to what you want, rather than staying home if they’re not exactly what you want.

First, because otherwise you end up with Trump.

But second, because your party will adapt its platform to the views of the people who actually vote, not to the people who stayed home. The reason that the Democrats are more center-moderate than liberal is at least in significant part because the left-liberal Democrats keep staying home. If we want the party to shift back left, it will take a generation, and it will involve voting in slightly more liberal candidates in every election.

          • killreligion

It’s surreal that your argument about voting vs staying home is relevant, even though it is

We are at risk of losing our democracy (or whatever it is) over people justifying not voting. I don’t live in a reality that includes not voting, it’s simply not an option, but we have to make the point. I get lazy, but this notion that not voting somehow says something as if it is voting-people are crazy.

Again, civics education, what happened to it?

          • killreligion

Oops missed second point. Please don’t assume everyone wants Dems more left. Center right is fine

          • thatotherjean

The perfect is very much the enemy of the good in politics–as Democrats seem intent on proving, over and over and over.

          • Dana Chilton

There is also the problem of non voters. Trump didn’t win because he had a groundswell of support. He won because of widespread antipathy. Republicans win because Democrats don’t vote

        • Todd20036

That does not surprise me. In fact, I have no allusions as to the GOP suddenly caring about this country.

This isn’t a new revelation. Remember Gorsuch? That wasn’t due to loyalty to the country, but merely being anti Obama

Trump is worse than I feared. The only hope for America is a blue tsunami. Nothing less.

          • killreligion

I agree but I believe the winning play is for Dems to attract more moderates that are (somehow) surprised trump ended up being himself and that he is himself worse than anyone was willing to believe (“I know he is a cheat at real estate but he’ll become presidential “)

One option, get the far left nutters to vote-hard, Obama is the only person I can think of that did it and we need hundreds to win, not just one. My option, get the people that actually vote to vote for you.

        • I’ve been saying that for a year. The Republicans aren’t turning on Trump. They can’t. If they cross him they lose their next primaries. They are more afraid of the primary than the general. Some are not running this fall because they know they are going to lose. Winning in November is imperative. I don’t care if the candidate isn’t perfect. A conservative Democrat is better than any Republican. As long as Ryan can set the agenda we are fucked.

          • RoFaWh

Diabetic? Me too, but it sounds like mine is more advanced than yours, so let me offer just one thing I’ve learned about diabetic dietary: when grocery shopping, do NOT buy anything made primarily of flour (bread, pastries, pasta & noodles, etc), nor potatoes nor rice. If you don’t buy it, you can’t eat it.

This admonition extends to most prepared and sold-in-a-box foods as well, to say nothing of candy and other sugary treats.

          • canoebum

Actually, I am not diabetic. I am trying to avoid becoming diabetic. I don’t consume soda, of any type (minor exception made for gin and tonic), nor candy, nor desserts. I’ve cut way back on bread, rolls, biscuits, etc. Potatoes are nutritious, so I limit them, but they’re still in, as is some rice (which my doctor calls Skittles). It’s the noodles that are my downfall. I try to get greens in wherever possible; I’m fond of fennel, broccolini, bok choy. I add colorful peppers to a lot of my dishes, along with onions and garlic. I eat very few prepared foods. I cook almost everything I eat.

          • RoFaWh

            Good for you, then.

Since I seem to be in something of an interfering busybody mood, let me make another suggestion: Buy a glucometer and use it to check your blood sugar level from time to time. View this as a sort of distant early-warning system.

You may wonder what I eat: very little starchy stuff, but some of it is nearly unavoidable, notably in fast food. Lots of lean ground beef. Eggs. Green vegetables (though not as much as I should). I do eat apples, pears, cherries, and berries in season, but following my doctor’s advice I avoid tropical fruits: mangoes, papayas, even bananas and pineapple. No sugar. (Surprise!)

The endocrinologist I see periodically says I should aim for a blood sugar reading between 7 and 8 (mmol per ml, not the units used in the US) while eating no more than 100 g (abt 3½ oz) of carbs daily.

Of course watch your weight, and if you are overweight, work hard to bring your weight down.

How could I forget? My Jr High art teacher used to play Autobahn in class.

And I about wore out my copies of Jean Michel Jarre’s Equinox and Oxygene albums.

My ex is a doctor, a radiologist, and for one of his medical publications he did an animation of a knee flexing, which required dozens of still MRI images set up so they seemed to move. I was the subject, which required HOURS inside the MRI machine, a narrow tube with the ceiling only inches above your head. They are painted a neutral color, kind of a flesh colored tan in this instance, so the trick was to not focus on the wall a few inches from you but to look into the distance. I had smoked weed right before, had on headphones playing Jean Michel Jarre and I swear to god I had an out of body experience! I was higher when I got out than I was when I went in.

You kind of have to keep in mind that I grew up in small-town Tennessee and the biggest hits among my peers were KISS, Def Leppard, and Jimmy Buffet and I was listening to Laurie Anderson. Oh, I was a BIG hit in high school! 🙀 My first job was in a record store, I loved music, but am completely unmusical myself, like cat in a blender bad at singing. In sixth grade I got to paint the sets of a city scape and skate around in my socks to pretend I was IN a winter wonderland rather than singing about one because my singing voice was so bad!

This is one of my perfect moment songs. I was in Amsterdam at night with headphones on and there were street performers everywhere, including nearly nude gymnasts. It was perfect!

            Hmm, how to follow that…

I liked some of the synth pop bands, but also like rougher, more aggressive music.X is a particular favorite. During the 80s I thought all the lead singers of the synth pop bands were gay. Nope, just British, god love ‘em!

            https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Hh4Wcftmfrg

I was a fan of Holly Beth Vincent (Holly & The Italians) back in the day and was pleased to learn she’s still making music. Again, I’m not musical at all, don’t even have the language to discuss it intelligently, but I know what I like.

I’m OK with pretty much anything having to do with X. I like the Holly Beth Vincent song, “King of Fat.” Hadn’t heard it before. During the 80s (at least it seemed to me) that all of those lead singers were gettable by a guy, under the right circumstances! 🙂

When I was in high school I had a friend over and was playing music for her, but kept changing the songs halfway through. Finally she looked at me and said, “You’re High-strung, aren’t you?”

Well, yeah, I guess I am, which is why I tend to like mellow music. Mellow with an edge maybe? Is that even a thing?

      Good work!

My recent federal jury trial literally lasted from 11:30am to 5pm. It was an immigration case of somebody crossing the border. The Border Patrol agent sucked as a witness. If this had been anything more complex than deciding two elements of did the person cross the border with the intention of avoiding officials this would have been a much more difficult case to determine but the defense had already stipulated to everything else in the two counts so while it was a stupid case (they had to being in the CPB guy from Yuma, AZ and some DHS guy from Brownsvilel, TX) it was cut and dried. I just kept wondering the entire time why the government is wasting all the time and money on cases like this. Same for drug cases.

      • Xiao Ai: The Social Gadfly

I agree. It’s a level of frustration I don’t care repeating. In a Grand Jury, you are solely tasked with finding probable cause that a crime, as stipulated by already ensconced legal definitions precipitated on corporate, capitalist ideals, has been committed. It’s about making money. Not on what is best for society at large.

        • Friday

In a lot of states it’s really just a way to drop cases when the prosecution really has zero to go on. When you think about it though, it likely still helps deter frivolous or thin prosecutions from even getting that far a fair amount. ie, we could be worse off without em.

When the obvious Constitutional amendments are proposed to prevent a recurrence of Trumpism, I hope they include some statement flatly forbidding legal fictions (what corporations are) from being treated in any way as “natural born”, and giving them only the specific rights listed in their charters.

On the up side, I don’t think Junior can muddy the waters too much more. Everybody who’s going to listen to him already listens to him.

I just did one where I rolled soap balls, let them harden a bit, then dumped them back into the form to overpour and cut into bars.

    • Chef Philips

My folks have mentioned that Nixon was known to them as “Tricky Dick” back when he was losing elections for California Governor to Pat Brown (in 1962, which is before I was even born!)

      • Cuberly Deux

Like we both observed before the election. Eric was in charge of the Trump Foundation which started doing actual good works. Then daddy got involved. The good works ended quickly, just another front for self enrichment.

Maybe Eric isn’t as evil….but they’re all quite evil….maybe degrees of evil.

O/T So apparently Justin Timberlake had planned on incorporating a holographic Prince into his performance at the Super Bowl halftime. Reaction was swift, and reportedly he’s scraping the idea. Which in my opinion is a good thing.

    • Ninja0980

Between this and the folks tweeting Justice for Janet, lots of anger over Justin performing at all.

      • jimbo65

Probably deservedly so. That hair brained idea was tone deaf. And further enraged those who felt he was further incorporating R&B, Soul, whatever you want to call it, for his own end.

        • Ninja0980

I have a feeling the latter is what has outraged people more then the former, especially since Janet was in on it.
Yes, she unfairly got a lot of the blowback but the idea she was a victim or that it should be part of the Me Too movement…hell no.

          • RoFaWh

“Hare-brained”, referring to the apparent stupidity of hares (much like big rabbits).

And thinking of traitors, may I express my hope that the trials include a fair number of American oligarchs who will be found guilty, imprisoned, and fined an amount in the billions. Hello Koch bros!

Giving directly to his campaign and never again thru ActBlue or whatever that fund raising umbrella thing is. They constantly make my contribution an ongoing, monthly gift. Even when I select to opt out. They do not return messages and I don’t like having the charge challenged via my credit card, but the hell with their crap. Same for any challenger. To their campaign and not ActBlue.

      • SoCalGal20

The outhouse, radio only (no TV), no telephone, the wood-burning cook stove, and MN winter with just the cook stove to heat the house. Just to cite a few of those good old things from the fifties. I can remember listening to the Minneapolis LAKERS games on WCCO radio.

The first time I saw condoms sold OTS in a drugstore was in Brooks, Alberta, of all places, summer 1972.

The first condom ad was by Julius Schmid in Playboy, around May or June 1970. There was an ad for Emko contraceptive foam in the LA Times around 1965.

      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brylcreem

That’s interesting. It’s mineral (petroleum) oil and water, stabilized with beeswax.

Although not going to go bad ever, it was another example of the early-mid 20th century fascination with synthetic products. Olive oil would be a workable substitute, although castor oil would work better with your hair. They’d last one (olive) to five (castor) years without preservatives.

          • -M-

            Hence the name antimacassar.

            From Wikipedia:

Macassar oil was an unguent for the hair commonly used by men in the early 19th century. The poet Byron called it “thine incomparable oil, Macassar”. The fashion for oiled hair became so widespread in the Victorian and the Edwardian period that housewives began to cover the arms and backs of their chairs with washable cloths to preserve the fabric coverings from being soiled. Around 1850, these started to be known as antimacassars. They were also installed in theatres, from 1865.
