White House: The Nunes Memo Raises Concerns About Integrity At The Highest Levels Of The DOJ And FBI

Via press release:

Earlier today President Donald J. Trump declassified a memorandum from the House Permanent Select Committee On Intelligence. This memorandum raises serious concerns about the integrity of decisions made at the highest levels of the Department of Justice and the FBI to use the government’s most intrusive surveillance tools against American citizens.

This decision was made with input from the President’s national security team — including law enforcement officials and members of the intelligence community, for whom the President has great respect. He is especially grateful to the hard-working rank-and-file public servants who work every day to keep America safe and uphold our laws while protecting the Constitutional rights of all Americans.

Minority members of the Committee have reportedly drafted a separate memorandum. The Administration stands ready to work with Congress to accommodate oversight requests consistent with applicable standards, including the need to protect intelligence sources and methods.

Honey, you came outta yo’ momma gay. They spanked you and you did jazz hands. Your afterbirth was glitter.

There’s an old tradition among the Jewish matriarchy (Jewish culture is centered/based on matriarchy, for anyone who didn’t already know that) whereby the mother and attending female relatives check the male newborn to ensure that there are ten fingers, ten toes and an intact penis.

I had all of it. They declared success (perhaps prematurely).

        • SkokieGuy

Yes they did this in my family too, but I thought it was all families. After all, who isn’t concerned that the baby came out ‘all right’? Seriously did not know this was a Jewish thing.

          • another_steve

We Jews brought you Jesus and all the good stuff in life.

            /snark

          • SkokieGuy

Ruggelah, bagels, sarcasm, guilt, vaudeville and Hollywood.

However we may also be responsible for ‘gilt’ and the look of Trump properties. You, like all Jews, had an Aunt Esther. She probably had a sofa covered in plastic (bonus points for the lampshades with covers too). If she had any money, she had a coffee table with gilt cherubs holding up the marble top. Its a look my mother calls Jewish Rococo.

          • another_steve

I was age 15 when it dawned on me that living room sofas don’t come out of the factory covered in heavy stay-in-place plastic.

          • SkokieGuy

Stick to your thighs when you wear shorts or your relatives in dresses. God forbid no air conditioning and you will get up in a sweat puddle.

          • another_steve

Oy the “sucking” sound it made when it was 90 degrees in the apartment with 100 percent humidity.

          • SkokieGuy

Oh god, yes, when you got up and it stuck to you and you had to peel yourself from it as you stood up. I remember!

And while most people had the plain clear plastic, there was the ‘fancy’ with gold flecks.

          • another_steve

Much love to you, SG, for “coffee table with gilt cherubs holding up the marble top.” We had one, of course.

When my mother passed, my sister and I met to discuss what to do with it. We agonized. I mean, our mother really loved that thing.

We ended up giving it to a Jewish charity.

We felt mama would be okay with that.

          • olandp

Wish I’d known, it would be fabulous in my bordello. 🙁

          • SkokieGuy

The difference between Jewish Rococo and Bordello is only a few red velvet curtains apart….

          • olandp

I don’t do red, but it is all purple and leopard velvets.

          • SkokieGuy

I completely approve (will the purple have gold fringe?) and want to visit your bordello.

          • SkokieGuy

My Grandma’s had a so classy mid-century brass base (square tubing) with a round marble top, no cherubs for her (but many of the relatives yes). Sadly the base didn’t survive, but Grandma’s been gone for over 30 years and I have that marble top in my house.

          • another_steve

Marble, for first and second generation American Jews, was a prized possession. Not sure why. Probably an ancient and secret lust among our people.

My parents had the marble cocktail table and all manner of marble tchotchke scattered around the apartment.

          • SkokieGuy

In the deep kitchen window of my Grandma’s apartment, she had two orange vases that I think are onyx. She had plastic branches with orange blossoms in them. They are now in my home in my etagare (three, 9 feet wide, mirrored, and I have a another one that’s Asian, black laquer + a china cabinet). The vases (minus the plastic garnish) are actually very lovely and probably from the 1930’s.

An elderly Jewish bubbe is my spirit animal

          • Cattleya1

My Mother too – her 3 kids just don’t get marble…

          • SkokieGuy

            Plastic flower arrangements or silk?

          • another_steve

            We were upper-middle income.

            Silk, of course.

          • SkokieGuy

The local Hadassah resale shop (where yes I’ve bought things) is now an urgent care center. I’m not sure how to feel about that.

          • olandp

My goyum mother never took the plastic that came on them off the lampshades. I would drive me crazy because they would get dead moths in them, but she never wanted the shade to get messed up. Oy!

          • another_steve

            LMAO.

            Ohmigod…the “dead moths.”

I swear, I hadn’t thought of that in the past 50 years.

          • SkokieGuy

When my grandmother was in the last years of her life, my mother took off the plastic covers. My grandmother said, “But what about the couch”? Mom replied, (with love) “What are you saving it for?” And that couch (raw silk, nubby beige three piece curving sectional with innerspring seat cushions and down pillows) ended up in several of my houses.

          • olandp

Ironically, it is in the last years of life that one needs the plastic covers.

I did get my mother’s Art Deco Reverie Nobility Plate (She never had sterling, but we used it for everyday until I was in Junior High). Can you believe no one else wanted it???

          • SkokieGuy

          • another_steve

To be specific, Italian Catholic mothers.

I grew up in the 1950s in a Brooklyn NY neighborhood that at the time was 75 percent European Jewish and 25 percent Italian Catholic. The Italian boys were gorgeous. Dark and swarthy.

I was very fem back then and the Italian boys often confused me for a girl. They’d kiss me and grope for my breasts, which were not there.

I played it for as long as I could.

          • Rambie

True, true. Italian roots in my Catholic family as well as Spaniard aka “Latino” on my moms side. Growing up in Mormon country, I never experienced “Jewish guilt” until later in life but it’s still well known to be powerful.

          • Galvestonian

Oh Gawd, I think I was at your Aunt Esters. The furniture was cream colored with gilt accents and as I recall the rug was cream colored with big pink roses cut into it and twirly blue ribbons just massing around the roses. I think I recall a big plastic flower arrangement in the bay window. The end tables matched the coffee table with big naked cherubs whose shades were cream colored silk trimmed with gold accents. The ceiling lamp was all cut crystal and was on a dimmer. Everything was covered in that hard plastic – the shades on the end table lamps had a sort of a plastic bag open at the top and bottom with elastic on either end so it secured around the outside of the shade. The room smelled like plastic especially when the end table lamps were lit. The painting over the sofa was of an old bearded guy wearing a Yamaka and playing a violin. The souvenirs of Israel on the coffee table were modernistic brass and blue enamel. I remember a kidney shaped ashtray and some type of matching candle holder.

          • SkokieGuy

OMG, I think we’re related. Yes, the kidney ashtrays, matching lighter, brass surrounded by ceramic to match the ashtray.

Shrimp and crab are the major reasons I’m not an observant Jew, Bob. I live in Maryland, where shellfish reign supreme. All very unkosher, according to Levitican law.

Based on sources close to the team authoring the memo, among its claims: “Robert Muller has poopy-pants” The document further alleges “He who smelt it, dealt it”. Although not yet released, House Republicans are demanding the entire disbanding of Mueller’s team, the FBI, & CIA. The DOJ will be whittled down to Jeff Sessions and Grumpy Cat.

That explains the National Blowhard’s line, in his SOTU speech, about authorizing department heads to fire career employees. Look for purges in DOJ and FBI. Underlying reasons?

    1. Weak FBI means fewer investigations of securities fraud, business scams and such. It’s the only way for GOP’s business supporters to make a quick buck.
    2. FBI traditionally is a leading counterintelligence force, so Donald’s Russian friends stand to benefit.

I’ve never seen the dow jones industrial average called the djia. It’s just the “DOW”.

I’m actually wondering if the businessfolks just noticed that the stability level of the Federal government is dropping fast. It’s almost like they see a politically unstable period coming.

All that stupid memo said was that a few FBI agents think Trump is a moron and that they followed up a few leads. B.F.D.

  • Galvestonian

Actually, it raises concern about WTF you idiots at the White House are trying to do to wiggle out of the ungodly mess that is happening on almost a daily basis with the Republican Administration under the orange Bozo’s leadership and his subversive treasonous sellout to Putin’s Russian Government ending up with the theft of the Presidential elections.

  • That_Looks_Delicious

Uh, Sarah, the highest level of the DOJ would be Jeff Sessions.

But with this kookoo WH, who knows? Maybe she meant to say that.

  • -M-

No, just the White House, the Republican congress, and all the criminals the Drumpfs surround themselves with, including the cabinet and other appointments.

  • agcons

Great photo, Sarah. You’re never, ever going to hit High F because you aren’t Birgit Nilsson. Stop trying.

  • Pip

I raises some serious questions as to what the WH is doing that they needed this distraction.

  • Cucker “Dick” Tarlson

Looking at the still of Sarah H-S at the top of this story makes me hear in my head, “But ya ARE, Blanche!”

The Trump White House is like a high school play compared to a Broadway production.

  • Jay Silversmith

So, the FBI is evesdropping on all things Russian, and suddenly Page’s voice shows up and the FBI is supposed to dismiss that little tibit and hang up the phone? Same with Manafort, Flynn and all the rest of them?
