Rep. Frederica Wilson: Trump Won’t Impose Sanctions On Russia Because They’ve Got Something On Him

The Miami Herald reports:

Miami Gardens Congresswoman Frederica Wilson criticized Donald Trump’s handling of congressionally ordered Russia sanctions Tuesday night during a boycott of his state of the union speech, suggesting the president has taken it easy on Russia because “they have something on him.”

“The House and Senate voted on all kinds of sanctions against Russia. Now, the president yesterday announced he wasn’t going to impose those sanctions,” she said just before a press conference with the Miami media inside an Overtown church. “They have something on him. And if he imposes sanctions against Russia, they’re going to tell what they have on him.”

Congress over the summer passed a bipartisan law ordering up sanctions against Russia after determining that the foreign country had meddled in the 2016 U.S. elections. That law gave Trump’s administration some wiggle room on timing, but pegged Monday as a date to begin implementing new penalties against companies that do significant business with Russian defense and intelligence sectors. The State Department, however, announced it would not immediately rush to levy sanctions, saying that the law was already acting as a deterrent.

I believe this to be the case…but wouldn’t it be nice if a tape or two would finally surface. So far it’s still all talk, no golden shower. Teasing is fine, but come on…

    • safari

I still think he just pisses the bed himself.

        • Xiao Ai: The Social Gadfly

I sea what you did there.

    • Ross

The tape could show Trump getting pissed on, while eating live kittens, as he jerks off on a Bible…

…and it won’t make any difference.

      • bkmn

Those Russians must have really good telescope lenses if they caught him masturbating.

        • McSwagg

Sorry to be a grammar notsee, but you misspelled “microscope” .

          • Boss Dave✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

Scanning electron microscope in this case.

          • Steven in Texas

            Even smaller scanning tunneling microscope.

      • blackstar

wonder what they would think if he was recorded having sex with under age girls?

        • Chitown Kev

Well…now remember, there was kompromat on Trump in places other than the Ritz Carlton in Moscow…there’s some things that went down in St. Petersberg, too.

        • Ross

Would make ZERO difference to his base.

          • Todd20036

If he got caught fucking a boy, that would do it

But not because he fucked a child but because he was gay- at least, as far as his base was concerned

          • Yalma Cuder-Zicci

It wouldn’t even have to be a kid. If it were an adult male they’d turn on him within seconds.

          • TimJ

Nope, not if it happened “long ago” like more than six months ago. He’s a changed man!

          • Xiao Ai: The Social Gadfly

            Underage boys?

          • ted-

          • DesertSun59

His base almost elected a documented pedophile in AL, so you are completely accurate.

        • Todd20036

          He already raped a kid

        • Cattleya1

You mean like Phil Robertson and the rest of his base does?

      • Pizza009

As long as it is females peeing on him, of course.

      • Scott Carpenter

They’d just start talking about kittens and their connection to the deep state.

    • Ninja0980

      His base won’t care.
They have a racist, sexist asshole in office who says all the things they want to say and that is all that matters.

    • Gay Fordham Prep Grad

While the Trump team is too inept to avoid such an event, the Russians sure as hell are. I am certain they have spent a fair number of rubles removing all electronic traces of contact

    • unsavedheathen

I believe this as well… but wouldn’t it be nice if Democrats other than Sideshow Sally were the ones saying it?

      • Xiao Ai: The Social Gadfly

        After their spinedectomy? Never happen.

      • SkokieGuy

Policing women’s appearance and demeanor is a good look on you!

        • unsavedheathen

Rep. Wilson’s “appearance and demeanor” are among the lesser issues I have with her. She is the product of Florida’s gerrymandered congressional district lines as much as any Florida Republican sent to the House. The majority of Greater Miami’s African-american population has been corralled into one district to limit their electoral influence and the result is Wilson. Uninquisitive, seemingly unintelligent, a tool of the Florida sugar industry as much as any of her GOP counterparts, and yes, extremely clown-like in her appearance and demeanor. I invite you to listen to her speak for any length of time and intimate to me again that I am judging her superficially. She is an embarrassment to the Florida Democratic Party. That she is correct in this one instance doesn’t change that nor the fact that she is exactly the type of Democrat that the GOP likes to see on the tele.

    • killreligion

I don’t think it’s a tape. It’s years of shady real estate financing, money laundering etc. the evidence is only circumstantial but it’s there: the overpriced condos, empty buildings owned by people on the list, Eric’s comment, the meetings and trips. It’s real evidence vs salacious wishful thinking.

I suspect NY will break this, not Mueller. But we will see. Sadly we knew this before electing him. Hilary was right about the puppet remark.

      • Charlie In SF

I have to agree. After his 4 BK’s, the only ones lending to him were Deutsche Bank, serving as a sleazy conduit and loan servicer for Russian cash

Trump’s failure to impose those sanctions is an impeachable offense. If you have a Republican Representative or Senator, contact them to ask why they aren’t acting on his failure.

    • 2guysnamedjoe

Trouble is, who’s gonna do the impeaching?

      • bkmn

They will eventually get around to it when they think their position of power is at stake.

The Dems want to wait until after the Mid-Terms and take down Pence with Trump and install the Speaker of the House, who will probably be my Congresswoman (Pelosi).

Trump’s not very big on following either laws or traditions. “Responsibility” is too big a word for him.

The entire reason Russia recruited Trump was to get rid of the sanctions which is costing them billions of rubles in lost oil revenues. So, no, Trump is not interested in enforcing the sanctions and, yes, they have plenty of dirt (kompromat) on him including the pee pee tapes.

I agree completely. Trump has denigrated every one else. Everyone. From Mitch McConnell down to his (one) African-American that he kept around to point out at rallies. Who has he always praised? Putin / Russia.

  • Gianni

I agree completely with Rep. Wilson. Russia not only helped Trump become President, but they have something on him that he doesn’t want known. He acts and sounds like a very guilty man and his constant maneuvering to stop the investigation into all his campaign’s Russia connections only highlight that fact. An innocent man, like Donnie vehemently claims to be, wouldn’t have to worry about said investigation turning up anything untoward. One doesn’t try to cover-up and constantly interrupt and interfere with an investigation because they are innocent. Those are the actions of a guilty party afraid of the truth of that guilt being revealed.
