A Republican member of the House Intelligence Committee said he supports Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russia’s potential interference in the 2016 election and Donald Trump campaign’s contacts with Russia. Speaking on “Fox News Sunday,” Rep. Trey Gowdy said he “100 percent” supports Mueller.
“I told my Republican colleagues, ‘Leave him the hell alone’ and that’s still my advice,” Gowdy said. Gowdy’s statement clashes with what some of his fellow House Republicans have said. Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) in November called for Mueller to resign or be fired.
