Kellyanne Conway: Dems Want A Shutdown Because They’re Playing To Their “Very Left Wing Base” [VIDEO]

From the right wing Washington Times:

Kellyanne Conway said Friday the Democrats are the ones to blame for the shutdown, arguing that they will are hurting more than President Trump with their actions.

“It really is regrettable that Democrats are willing to shutdown the government — which means not just saying no to President Trump, but saying no to our military, saying no to a longer-term extension on the Children’s Health Insurance Program, saying no to federal workers getting their paychecks,” Mrs. Conway, counselor to the president, said on Fox News.

She said she does not think Republicans will be blamed for the possible shutdown and that they will actually do well in the coming midterms: “2018 looks very differently than 2010.”

I know you are but what am I? Pathetic KA.

  • Gustav2

“Only 1 in 5 Americans want to deport young immigrants brought to the United States as children and now here illegally, the focus of a politically fraught debate between the White House and Congress.”

Kellyanne Goebbels just called 4 out of 5 Americans the very left wing base.

    • Tawreos

They don’t care what people actually think, they care that they can spin it to get what they want.

    • kaydenpat

She’s living in an alternate universe where facts don’t matter.

    • Todd20036

They are also claiming democrats are doing what Republicans did from day one: Trying to run things unilaterally without compromise.
The republicans tried to run the country as a 1 party dictatorship for a year. They didn’t exactly do a very good job at it.
Now the democrats have FINALLY grown a spine and realized that you cannot negotiate with Nazis. SO fuck it.

      • Gustav2

Rep Jordan was hilarious on Mourning Joe. He wants no compromise on the CR, just a clean bill, but insists on a compromise on DACA with more funds for the damn wall.

    • David Walker

I have no problem with that. I wish it were true.

    • The_Wretched

4/5 of people are against every republican position.

    • scottrose
  • Butch

So playing to your very right wing base is OK but playing to a very left wing base is bad? I can’t decide which member of the Trump administration I hate the most. Kellyanne and Sarah are right up there, though.

    • Joe in PA

      What’s not to hate?

    • kaydenpat

      Stephen Miller. John Kelly.

    • prixator

Instead of that, try to identify one that you like. Go on and try. I’ll wait. 😉

  • SkokieGuy [ChicagoAdjacentGuy]

“Playing to the base” what a devastating charge. What egregious behavior.

Kelly, you’re transparent, boring and predictable.

    • Because the GOP never plays to their RWNJ base, huh?

      • SkokieGuy [ChicagoAdjacentGuy]

        Quote from Joseph Goebbels:

“We learned the consequences of our neglect all too clearly during
the World War. While the enemy states produced unprecedented atrocity propaganda aimed at Germany throughout the whole world, we did nothing and were completely defenseless against it. Only when enemy foreign propaganda had nearly won over the greater part even of the neutral states did the German government begin to sense the enormous power of propaganda. It was too late. Just as we were militarily and economically unprepared for the war, so also with propaganda. We lost the war in this area more than in any other. The cleverest trick used in propaganda against Germany during the war was to accuse Germany of what our enemies themselves were doing.”

[In other words, Goebbels learned to accuse the enemy of what you are doing]

        • Lizard

Projection from the Nazis, whataboutism from Stalin, fawning attentiveness from Mussolini…give them credit, they’re getting their inspiration from all the Axis powers, not just the Nazis.

(And yes I know Japan was the third Axis power, not the Soviet Union, but you know what I mean.)

    • Lizard

“Playing to the base” as Trump is preparing to address the fucking anti-woman gathering.

      HAHAHAHAHAHAHA fuck her.

  • Tawreos

We have moved so far to the right in this country that anything not strictly in the GOP platform is very far left now

  • Harveyrabbit
    • Tawreos

That looks like an actual improvement for her.

      • David Walker

Her chin would be a nice place for her to rest her beer or bottle of her choice, but a little too far from her nose for cocaine.

      • The_Wretched

It’s more symmetric and smoother. Both enhance prettiness.

    • kaydenpat

She doesn’t look as good though.

    • Zeldacat

I understand the temptation but Margaret Hamilton was awesome and doesn’t deserve the comparison.

      • Todd20036

She’s a movie villain of the ages, up there with Darth Vader.

    • Todd20036

That’s the best looking photo I’ve seen of Crystal Meth Barbie

  • Tawreos

Playing to the very left wing base is bad, but playing to white supremacists is good. That is one fucked up world view coming out of the White House.

  • Rex

Here’s the thing, Kellyanne speaks in code, just take whatever she says and believe the opposite. It’s very easy to decipher.

    • (((GC)))

Just like interpreting statements lies from the lying Liar-in-Chief, Popular Vote Loser Dolt 45*.

  • Xiao Ai: The Social Gadfly

Now that we’ve identified what the problem is, how can I get off of this planet and get back to Earth?

  • CanuckDon

Predictable Kellyanne spin. I sense the lies are getting weaker and it’s all they have to rely on at this point.

  • Longpole

Republicans are going to show what a unified government looks like?

  • liondon#iamnotatraitor

Child: Mommy , why are you driving us off the cliff?….
Mom: The black man is making me do it.

  • JAKvirginia

KA? The facework seems to be holding up. Careful in the freezing cold. That botox might harden on ya. Cheers.

  • Christopher
  • JAKvirginia

Gotta get my hearing checked. She speaks and all I hear is “blah, blah, blah……”.

  • Steve Smith

So, in reality, the GOP hold the presidency, a majority of 24 in the house and a majority in the senate and they can’t pass a spending bill? Unified government? No way. So they put the Wicked Witch on the TV to explain how its all someone else’s fault. The trouble being that a lot of people are so stupid they’ll believe her.

  • JT

As a creature from the underworld, how many wings does Kellyanne have?

    • Anastasia Beaverhousen

‘We all lie down here, Billy! You can be a liar too!”

  • Wesinoregon

“Very Left Wing Base”. You mean the group that has a majority lead in polls on the issues they are discussing?

  • TheManicMechanic

    This cuntycunt again.

  • Bluto
  • hdtex
    • kaydenpat

Tell her that President Obama is really, really, really against drinking bleach. That may work.

  • Robincho

Isn’t there a crypt somewhere that needs keeping?…

  • Jack

“2018 looks very differently than 2010.”

I wonder if she meant “different”?

    • Robincho

I feel so badly for her…

    • David Walker

Yes. A lot more side-eye going on.

      • Jack

  • kaydenpat

Who cares what Kelly Conwoman says? She lies as easily as she breathes. Looks like Democrats are hanging tough. They should because almost 90 of Americans support DACA.

    • Kissmagrits

Democrats have no choice but to hang tough because if they fail to take a stand on the needs of society, our two party system will be an American version of Putin’s plan for Russia.

  • TexasBoy

If memory serves, Republicans like government shutdowns, they did one when Obama was President, didn’t they?

  • TexasBoy

I think the shutdown should include Social Security and Medicare, then see how important a wall and DACA are to the GOP.

  • Kevin Andrews

Sewer Rat Barbie spews her gilded feces stench across the airwaves again. The perfect Tokyo Rove for the demented liar in chief is a shit-stain on America.

  • John Ruff

Well it looks as if she’s at least letting gays do her hair, finally

    • kareemachan

But she still looks like she was rode hard and put away wet, as it were.

  • Pip

Sorry Kelly, Dems don’t tend to answer to whistles. That’s more the habit of #45’s base.

  • Halou

What does she think the Republicans did a few years ago?

That was all fine, but the Dems allegedly doing the same somehow isn’t also fine?

  • Andymac3

Projection, projection, projection, said the scam artist.

  • kareemachan

Well, look who surfaced from her opioid high.

  • 1980Gardener

There is a nugget of truth here – across the country, we are seeing a greater emphasis by Democrats to play to the base and position themselves to the left of their opponents.

    • boatboy_srq

It’s not difficult to get to the left of fascists.

      • 1980Gardener

I’m sorry – I wasn’t clear. They are competing to get to the left of their other Democratic challengers.

        • The_Wretched

No. The DEM funders are consistently only spending out of State dollars on the most ‘moderate’ Dems and leaving actual liberals to wither in the wind. Worse, they keep putting up conservative Dems in the right wing districts under the argument that they *must* in order to win. that’s a lie. Quality Dems win, not policy positions. As such, they’d win just as much (if not more from energizing the base) by running Quality Liberals. They aren’t doing it.

          NO. you’re entirely wrong.

          • scottrose

            What are you blathering about?

Is Doug Jones not a “quality liberal”?

Is Patty Schachtner not a “quality liberal”?

          • The_Wretched

Doug Jones is one of the “we had to run a ‘moderate'” types.

          • 1980Gardener

That’s an interesting opinion. I suggest you read some recent articles from the NY Times on the movement left to win base support.

          • The_Wretched

The NYTimes has been rather suspect and felating the right of late. You may want to file it under right wing messaging rather than reality.

          • 1980Gardener

Upon what do you base your opinions?

          • The_Wretched

I will not dance for you.

I will not fall for your argument from authority when the authority is crap. Have you missed all the comments here from people cancelling their NYT subscriptions for right-wing bias or for feeling burned by the NYT taking a liberal upsurge in subscriptions after an anti-trump piece and using it to hire right wingers?

  • boatboy_srq

Reminder: to fascists, any non-fascist looks like a socialist.

  • The_Wretched

They can keep telling the media to blame the Dems for the shut down but I doubt it’ll stick. They have all the control.

  • MooseMalloy

Heh. You can’t even see the Left from where the Democrats are standing these days.

  • TexasBoy
  • JWC

Kelly Anne….. shut the Fuck up

  • Union Dyer

Is she Single White Femaling Ivanka?

  • Lawerence Collins

Fcuk you Kelly Ann! We couldn’t get that lucky with the establishment Democrats. My opinion, they’re to scared to go against the demands of their corporate owners.

  • -M-

Or, they thought about it and decided the Rethuglican agenda is worse for the country than a temporary shutdown.

  • JCF

There’s a fringe wing base being played to alright, but is sure AF ain’t the Dems’ base!

  • Joe

    She is a riot!

  • LesbianTippingHabits

Kelly Ann, is this another example of alternative facts:

    6’3″, 239 lbs.?
