PETITION: James Woods For California Governor

From the petition:

James Woods, governor of California? Why not? The Golden State has a long history of electing leaders from the deep end of thespian pool. From Ronald Reagan to Arnold Schwarzenegger, Californian voters actually seem to enjoy casting ballots for Republican actors.

And with likely Democratic Party nominee Gavin Newsom not appearing to give a damn about anything beyond naked political ambition, why not draft someone far more intelligent than any predecessor in that office?

Are you thinking what I’m thinking? That James Woods would blow Pretty Boy Floyd, aka Gavin Newsom, right out of the gubernatorial waters? That a debate between Newsom, Antonio Villaraigosa, Tom Steyer or any of the other left-wing Democrat wannabes ends very badly for anyone other than Woods?

We are launching a campaign to convince Woods to run for Governor this year and won’t take no for an answer! Please join us by signing the petition below. Your email address will be used to provide updates on our efforts. Thanks for your support! Melanie Morgan, Co-Founder, Media Equality Project.

The Media Equality Project was launched in June 2017 primarily to promote advertiser boycotts of any cable news show perceived to be anti-Trump. Their first target was Rachel Maddow. And in case you are unaware, James Woods is the douchiest douchebag who ever douched his way of Douche Town. Examples below.

PETITION: James Woods For California Governor

Perdition more like. Or maybe he should just enjoy a golden shower.

  • Lazycrockett

    He seems nice.

    • (((GC)))

      Bless his heart.

  • Publius

Is James Woods even a thing?

  • perversatile
    • Treant

I don’t believe that James is being taken care of by Top Men. He’s approach sane if so.

The other kind of top…naw, he ain’t and we don’t want him.

      • wds

As I say – there’s not enough drugs, alcohol or paper bags to make that happen – at least for me … ROFL

      “Eigentum des Douchen Verlegers”…

      • perversatile

        Stenciled on the crate?

  • James Woods is fucking nuts.

Take that literally if you like, but I’m not going to apologize for the resulting inevitable visual.

    • LeeCMH

      A legumesexual?

      • I like to imagine he’s so crazy and dimwitted, he regularly has to visit a urologist to have peanuts removed from his urethra.

        • LeeCMH

Peanuts are bad enough, but those brazil nuts, ouch.

          • Prost Seattle

He probably calls them n***** Toes.

        • Todd Allis

          Hopefully salted!

If James Woods fell down in a forest, and no one was around, would anyone give a damn?

      • Prost Seattle

        Is the wood chipper on?

    • Todd20036

That’s a thing. I can penetrate someone with my testes. It’s uncommon, but it’s a real fetish.

  • James Woods wouldn’t even make the general election runoff.

    • peacfulseas inWA

The world has changed my friend, the world has changed. I fear we are in a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a
dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle
ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and
it lies between the pit of man’s fears and the summit of his knowledge.
This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call the
      Twilight Zone.

      • TCinBerkeley

Except that here in Cali we have an open primary so the top two vote getters, regardless of party, go on to the general election. While it is conceivable that it could be a Dem vs a Rep (to quote a Latin friend – JAJAJAJAJAJAJA!), Woods is too toxic to ever make it that far.

        • peacfulseas inWA

          Agree. I’m a native Californian.

  • lymis

Please, run as an independent and split the Republican vote.

    • SoCalGal20

      LOL no worries!

      • TuuxKabin

        Grinding my teeth, but thanks.

  • LeeCMH

Perhaps Woods knows a lot about butt plugs.

I understand he keeps having the problem of losing his up is ass.

  • Treant

    That should turn out well.

I can’t imagine why Family Guy even keeps their limited association with James Woods. He’s a pustule.

  • Ben in Oakland

“James Woods is the douchiest douchebag who ever douched his way of Douche Town”

    Douche tell.

    • Steverino

If Woods were weasel his way into being governor, it would be the little douche coup.

      • Scott Carpenter

Nothing little about it. The stretch douche coup.

      • Ben in Oakland

        That’s good!

      • sfbob

    • This is how big a douche he is. He was so horrible to Dolly Parton on the set of the movie straight talk that when it was over she said she’d never make another movie. (She later did.) How awful a person do you have to be to treat Dolly Parton badly. She’s delightful and smart and fun. But he’s an asshole. He blames his declining career on his politics, but Eastwood is vocal about being conservative and A list stars line up to work with him. But then Eastwood is a good colleague and enjoyable to work with. He’s a nutjob when it comes to politics but he treats actors well and his movies come in under budget and make money. So it’s not politics. It’s just that Woods is a horrible person that people smartly want to avoid.

      • Ben in Oakland

How awful do you have to be to go out of your way to treat anyone badly? He sounds like the Douchiest of the Douches, all right. No wonder he is so often the butt of humor on Family Guy.

  • CA, have fun with this nutbag loon. he’s truly off the deep end. now that you’ve been working on the way your elections work, i’m pretty sure he has NO chance. but! it would be really, really cool to see some Dem take him down in a humiliating loss. oh boy would that hurt his tiny little penis/brain.

the sad thing for me is, i actually like quite a few movies he’s been in. he makes a great bad guy, and i guess that bc he’s not pretending or acting, just being himself. he should stick to acting. i have no doubt he’s rich and he should use his money to find him a talented screenwriter and produce a movie about really evil, old white guys (who are destroyed in the happy ending). he’s done it before. his Roy was… amazing.

    • clay

Oliver Stone and David Cronenberg have used him well. Though he played a sort of good guy in “Salvador”, he has been an excellent villain. He’s played Roy Cohn, Rudy Giuliani, and white supremacist Byron De La Beckwith.

      • TuuxKabin

And will be able to play gov.

  • Ben in Oakland

Far more intelligent than any predecessor to that office?

Even more than Ronnie or Ahnuld?

How low they’ve set the bar.

    • nocadrummer

  • TimCA

I already know where my vote is going.

    • ted-

      Mine is going to Gavin!

      • TimCA

I’d prefer to severe my arm than to vote for Gavin Newsom. Having said that, I’ll take a hacksaw to myself if it appears that a right wing Republican were to become a serious contender and Newsom becomes the only plausible opposition.

        • Do Something Nice

Totally agree. FYI, he is now trying to distance himself from the suit to overturn the will of SF’s voters on 8 Washington. We voted in 3 different elections on 4 separate ballot items to keep height limits on the waterfront and now he is working to overturn those votes.

          • TimCA

Here in San Diego, Irwin Jacobs (founder of Qualcom), has been trying to push through a plan that would trash the Cabrillo Bridge, Alcazar Garden, Palm Canyon and other historical and architectural features in the heart of Balboa Park. Jacobs (who btw is now trying to buy his grand daugher a congressional seat, the one Issa will be vacating) is a big contributor to Newsom. Newsom who has absolutely no connection to San Diego threatened the then head of the state’s historic preservation office, Wayne Donaldson, that he better get on board and stop opposing the plan or else. This ironically happened less than 48 hours after Newsom came to town and publicly answered questions from reporters one of which indicated he had absolutely no idea that there were plans in the works for Balboa Park much less what they consisted of. Clearly Newsom later got his marching orders from Jacobs and then started applying pressure to Donaldson on behalf of Jacobs’ pet project.

Closer to home near where I live and even more outrageous, Newsom started interceding on behalf of a developer in the city of Oceanside. The developer was a past big contributor to Newsom and presumably would be so again in the future. Newsom essentially threatened a liberal Democratic councilwoman, Esther Sanchez and two appointed members of the city’s planning commission that they better start playing nicey nice with this developer who was trying to build a massive project in the city’s downtown near the pier. The problem was that the city has an affordable housing element for all new projects over a certain size in this downtown redevelopment district. The law was written by Sanchez and she pushed hard over many years to get it passed and implemented. The builder wanted the city to wave the affordable unit criteria by some 75% while still receiving city redevelopment money to subsidize the construction. The developer said it would be unprofitable for him to proceed without this concession. The councilwoman, mayor and members of the city’s planning commission refused to back down and allow the city to be extorted like this as the developer knew plain well what the law was that governed construction on the site before he bought the options to purchase the land. Additionally there were other developers waiting in the wings to pick up the option on this valuable parcel and meet the city’s criteria if the original developer were to back out. Nevertheless it was made very clear via third parties that if Newsom’s favorite developer (read contributor) didn’t get his way by having the city back down, Newsom was prepared to start pulling strings at the California Coastal Commission in an attempt to thwart future development on the site if the original developer wasn’t given a pass.

Thanks for bringing to my attention Newson’s current activities up in San Francisco. Not living there I wasn’t aware. What I’d like to know, given Newsom’s motivations for involvement in development decisions down here, what’s in it for him in overturning the height restrictions on 8 Washington? What developer’s interests will be advanced and who will be making a big fat contribution to his campaign for governor to pay for Gavin’s involving himself in that issue? In my experience Gavin doesn’t do altruism and he certainly doesn’t whore himself out on the cheap.

          • Do Something Nice

Thanks for that info – I’ve copied it for later use. I believe that Newsom’s involvement with the 8 Washington development is somehow a favor to Willie Brown. It was Willie Brown and his developer buddies that had Gavin Newsom of doing something unprecedented: Delay being inaugurated as Lt. Governor so he could appoint an interim mayor, instead of the usually process which would have had the more progressive Board of Supervisors appointing the interim mayor.

This resulted in our having Ed Lee as mayor and it was a disaster for most San Franciscans. Every attempt to regulate AirBnB rentals was met with strong resistance from Lee. Lee was mostly owned by venture capitalist Ron Conway and the two of them went so far as to convene a meeting of people representing businesses that have contract with the city and threaten them if they did not support their candidate in an election (she lost anyway). I believe Newsom or those behind him were also involved with this as many of the same people were also involved with trying to overthrow our height limits on the waterfront.

        • ted-

Something to remember, Newsom started the marriage equality movement.

        • TCinBerkeley

Todd’s right, shivadog. California is an open primary state, and Woods will never make it to the top two. He is too toxic for most Cali voters.

          • TCinBerkeley

And we will get more stories like Amber Tamblyn’s if he does run.

          • shivadog

I hope you are right, but California is the state that gave us Reagan,so it’s not like they haven’t elected an insane actor before.

          • TCinBerkeley

True, but there are a couple of key differences. The first of which is that Reagan (and Arnold) were genial and had machines behind them to push them into the Governor’s chair. That is not James Woods. LOL

And while I recognize that the Dems have an unique ability to draw defeat from the jaws of victory, the state party seems to have done a pretty good job of not f-ing up since the last election of Arnold. Conversely, at the state level, the Rep party is doing pretty poorly.

  • ted-

I’ll be an monkey’s uncle should he become our governor!

    • stevenj

I don’t think so. You give Woods way to much credit. A Republican has not been elected to a major statewide office in Calif since 2006. Republicans represent about 28% of the voters and their numbers are shrinking.

Julian Assange’s bid for diplomatic status rejected by UK government

    – The WikiLeaks founder faces arrest for breaching bail conditions if he leaves the Ecuadorian embassy in Knightsbridge

‘A [UK Foreign Office] spokesperson, confirming the latest attempt to resolve the
impasse, said on Wednesday night: “The government of Ecuador recently requested diplomatic status for Mr Assange here in the UK. The UK did not grant that request, nor are we in talks with Ecuador on this matter.
Ecuador knows that the way to resolve this issue is for Julian Assange to leave the embassy to face justice.”
